    Unironically impossible.
Back in 2005, I wrote a paper about a 'chatbot apocalypse'. The idea being that lazy or funny people would leave influencing farms on and eventually those retarded bots would push people over the edge.

They are comparable because they are ethnic backgrounds. Hispanics and anglos are not a race, much like how germanics are not a race. They are all just heritage.

Seems like this is a global issue.

a lot of this is due to economic factors (you can make more money nowadays flipping burgers) and medical factors (zoomies are fat, smoke pot, and have actual medical records that they can use to disqualify applicants for eczema or adhd.) the medical thing is a problem because the economic thing means nobody is going to bother getting waivered unless they actually believe in america. that's where the anti-nationalism thing kicks in.

    >1. Increase compensation.
When even a cagie wagie with nothing other than a GED can walk onto a shit job and make a minimum of $18 an hour, the military needs to be able to offer better.
    >2. Get rid of the tedious dog & pony bullshit that has no real world relevance to being a professional soldier.
Gender sensitivity classes and close order drill are both a waste of time.
    >3. Contract out any roles that can be more efficiently filled by private industry
It's a massive waste of money for the military to recruit and train people to be cooks, janitors, truck drivers, etc. Better to contract with companies that already provide these services. As a bonus, this will also save a huge amount of money in the long run, as the government will no longer need to pay out VA benefits to or entertain fraudulent disability claims from such people.

I bet we could meet recruitment easily if we just brought back real physical fitness requirements in public schools.

A full 60% of Americans are medically ineligible to join, mostly due to obesity and meme diseases like ADHD and depression. If we forced kids to run a couple miles, do some push ups, and stay a healthy weight, we could solve this shit easily.

      Anonymous

Number has been improving since the crisis was first identified in 2009.

Military is struggling to recruit because of a massive contraction in the labor market that started under Trump and continues today. Everyone, in every sector, is struggling to tap the labor pool.

If society actually valued that sure, but when you have Victoria's secret models being 400 lb roasties good luck with that. We had presidential fitness tests in middle school in the mid 2000s, before the woke shit got really bad, all the girls were super fit and had tight abs, nice legs, etc. Most of the guys were also super in shape. Nowadays I see kids in high school they weigh 200+ lb and fat as fuck. Bring back the Hollister/American Eagle model mentality and you'd have kids actually bullying each other to be fit.

the caloric and nutritional content was matched. The point is that ultra processed foods are generally much more unhealthy due to how ubiquitos they are. You can make significantly healthier meals that are similar in nutritional content and be better off. Processed foods don't really satiate you and make you crave more.

I was talking more generally about the constant intake of excess calories due to a sedentary lifestyle and the prevalence of high sugar foods.

If you want to maintain a healthy physique as long as you balance intake with exertion it doesnt really matter what you eat, unless you're trying to get jacked in which case its all about them macros.

                [...]
                >Subjects were admitted to the NIH Clinical Center and randomized to receive either ultra-processed or unprocessed diets for 2 weeks immediately followed by the alternate diet for 2 weeks. Meals were designed to be matched for presented calories, energy density, macronutrients, sugar, sodium, and fiber. Subjects were instructed to consume as much or as little as desired. Energy intake was greater during the ultra-processed diet
                easier to overeat
not even mentioning the insulin resistance you develop when you eat them for a long time

The calorie contents weren't matched, it was ad libitum intake. People ate more of the processed foods.

                >we can conclude that processed food is bad for you because it makes you consume more calories

So its not really an indictment of processed food per se but rather an indictment of the ability (inability) of processed food to make you feel "full" and/or the likelihood of processed food making you overeat

Yeah, but if the average person consumes more calories while eating processed food, the end result is the same.

Yes. If you go a step further then processed food is far more prevalent in western society especially among the poor. The poor eats lots of this because its so stupidly cheap and readily available. Obesity as a whole is significantly higher in the poor than in more wealthy groups. Since there are so many relatively poor people in the US, recruitment would never take them due to obesity issues.

not that exact study, but there are plenty of indictments
excess sugar and high glycemic index foods lead to fatty liver and insulin resistance, meaning more calories are stored as fat

Yeah, those graphs arent quite as damning as you think.

          >It would be an easy fix if the people running America were even remotely competent.
They're competent. What you're looking for is genuinely good-aligning. Many of the people running the country do so or seek to do so out of raw greed. They're in congress to make money, they network themselves to be powerful even after leaving office. They secure themselves and their friends. Very few of the leaders actively strive for better purpose beyond casually brown nosing voters for brownie points.

          >If you started rolling out new, hard PT standards in public schools, you would be seeing dramatic improvements in the recruiting pool within two or three years max.
You really wouldn't. You would just see a lot of dogshit drama with parents, kids, and schools trying to make people conform. At the end you'd have a bunch of salty kids and a bankrupt school district.

America won't even be needing humans in their military before long, they're so far ahead of other nations in technology that while everyone else is debating methods of increasing recruitment they'll be pumping out legions of warbots.

    >this thread
All meme answers. The actual answer is that there's better jobs and competitiveness among people to follow through their peers. The GWOT is mostly over and its a peaceful era that involves people looking into other opportunities. More job opportunities=less recruitments. Covid also fucked up recruitment and the military hasn't been aboe to advertise themselves in schools that much. The main issue is just people finding other things to do rather than being in the military. An easy fix would be another war, but thats going to take a while.

This. Why the fuck would I join the military when I can get a better paying job with more benefits and free-time outside of it? You get the military you pay for, and if you want good soldiers you have to offer them a lucrative job.

        Anonymous

        Bingo.

Have you ever read about all the benefits and cool shit the bongs offer their soldiers? Their army will unironically send you to Zambia to go white river rafting (or ski'ing in the alps, of scuba diving in the med) for three weeks (and pay you for it) or make sure you never get deployed for longer than six months and so on and so forth.
        >and they still struggle to meet quota

Its simply a question of making it an attractive job because, reality is, 90% of military jobs are pog shit no different from working in a amazon fulfillment center or mechanics shop or driving an 18 wheeler.

      >An easy fix would be another war

      >start another ill-conceived war to boost enlistment
      >lose
      >confidence in the military plummets, as does enlistment

The ability to actually win wars is the biggest single factor to military enlistment. People want to join the winning team and eschew the losing team. That's why the Ukrainian Army has an eight month waiting period just to enter basic training and America and Russia are both scraping the barrel for cannon fodder.

I guess I should've clarified a war that riles people up. The GWOT invited recruiting because of 9/11. Obviously that will not last forever and recruitment will go down. In America's case, you still have people willing to fight compared to most countries. Countries like japan or Germany have people not willing to fight for their country and not have that much people joining or view their militaries in a high regard. One study shows that less than 12% of the people that were polled are willing to die for their country while America has like 50-60%

Every military has historically relied upon material incentives to attract recruits. "Join us because patriotism" is a meme, if you want recruits you have to either pay them lots of money, or promise them plenty of opportunities to loot the fuck out of the enemy they're going to conquer.

  33. 2 months ago

People join the military for one of three reasons:
    >Economic opportunities
    >Their nation is under direct threat
    >They were conscripted
That's it. It doesn't matter if you have a 100% white national socialist state with everyone physically fit and inundated with patriotism from birth, recruitment rates will remain low if the military economic opportunities are shit and they're being sent to fight people who pose no direct threat to their nation.

Stop the insane level of government spending that only serves to drive inflation further to the sky, stop letting shitskins (street shitters via H1b and Hispanics, mainly) and chinks invade the country thus compounding the inflationary issue with increased competition, stop giving trillions to morons for being morons, stop demonizing white people and giving preferential treatment to mentally ill gays and women in every facet of public or private life.

All of the retarded shit that has occurred in the past 15 years has only served to enrich third-world subhumans and now-decrepit boomers, resulting in the proverbial rug-pulling of the American dream from a significant portion of the average American population. Owning a home and supporting a family with one bread-winner is more of an impossibility today for most people than it has been in almost a century. No one wants to serve a country that has turned into a voracious shit-hole filled with swarthy monkeys.

I don’t think it’s going to improve prior to the occurrence of some unprecedentedly extreme event, and I genuinely feel bad for people who aren’t already in positions to create a successful career and life for themselves.

It was the Afghan-backed government that nearly 2,000 Americans and trillions of dollars had been sacrificed trying to prop up.

While I'll concede that America was able to withdraw from Afghanistan largely on its terms, you're still missing the point that no amount of technology is going to be able to make up for bad strategy and planning, something that is crippling American society at nearly every level.

Yeah, but if the discussion is how to make the military more capable, there's nothing in this discussion that will fix that problem. Bush and Obama had completely inadequate strategies, there wasn't that much the military could have done independently to rectify that.
