Said this in the other thread, but I've spent a bunch of time in Japan and most lighters there are push-button piezo things instead of wheel and flint like here in the US. Wouldn't surprise me if he made the trigger mechanism out of one of those lighters.
Also said this there, but a Japanese PM being assassinated with an electrically-ignited homemade gun feels Ghost in the Shell as frick.
Don't need a primer, just need power and stable connection to the inner chamber. Literally you could drill a small hole and put some electrical wire into and have it complete the circuit on the inside.
Probably powder from fireworks, otherwise homemade black powder. Projectiles are anyone's guess, but likely either shot or random shrapnel, I don't think those barrels would've held up to a fitted slug.
Chad Japanese assassin successfully targets a high-profile politician with a homemade gun
Virgin American mass shooter can easily buy an infantry squad's worth of automatic weapons but targets people at the local school or Walmart instead of targeting billionaires or politicians
Although to be fair of course, it's likely that politicians in Japan have a lot less protection than they do in the US because they don't expect these kinds of things to happen
>shoot an old man in the back >while he's giving a speech to a small crowd >from 30 feet away >while he has no idea you even exist > "chad"
Puke-eating coward. Just the same as anyone who calls that a "chad." have a nice day, (You) puke-eating coward.
It's Chad because the perpetrator has almost no chance of getting away successfully. It's a real "sacrifice the rest of my life to kill this guy" sort of situation. The great thing about this shooting is that he targeted an actual elite instead of just shooting some kids at the local school like American disturbed dudes tend to do,.
Every politician is an old man. Stalin was an old man once. I am not saying Abe was Stalin before you start screeching, but using "old man" here is dishonest homosexualry of a high rank.
If you are politician, you can get shot. Thats how it should be by the way, politicians NEED to be afraid of their own people.
In the end, it does not matter if the dude killed him because of something serious, because he made dude's favorite lovepillow factory close down or for completely moronic schizo reason. Politicians need their Franz Ferdinand reminder from time to time.
Wonder why he didn't react to the first shot then, maybe he was in shock?
[...]
I see, stay safe over there.

homie he is probably way safer in Japan than you are wherever.
This. Every politician should be scared that maybe some rifle poking out of a local bush might brutally murder them. They should be constantly scared of that.
100% agree, if they want to swan around lining their pockets with my tax dollars then they had better be ready to risk their fricking neck for the privilege
Billionaires and Politicians are protected by kitted out guards.
The Last major Jap Politician assassination was 100 years ago. Coupled with lax policing and lighter security, I would be more confident offing politicians in Japland rather than in Muttland.
Yeah you're right and I already realized that, I shamefully edited my post to reflect that. That said, I imagine that probably like 90% of US billionaires actually have very little security. They actually almost never get targeted. Usually it's either random people at the local school or store or it's celebrities like musicians who get targeted.

is this bait?
Because American presidents travel around the US with almost the same level of protection that they would travel around a conquered country like Iraq with, plus America's gun nuts are 99.9% bark and no bite and so the most of the Americans who actually do commit political violence are random crazies who go on a revenge spree against the local school or concert or whatever instead of being dedicated political militants.
I think that it's still a big deal because doing something like that makes the politicians who are in office realize that they might face some consequences later on whether they're still in office or not.

He hanged himself.
But hardcore motherfricker till the end, read this: >Less than three weeks after the assassination, on 2 November, Yamaguchi mixed a small amount of toothpaste with water and wrote on his cell wall, "Long live the Emperor" and “Would that I had seven lives to give for my country” (七生報国, shichishō hōkoku), the latter a reference to the famous last words of fourteenth-century samurai Kusunoki Masashige.[2] Yamaguchi then knotted strips of his bedsheet into a makeshift rope and used it to hang himself from a light fixture.[2][11]
Brief summary:
Suspect is 41 year old Tetsuya Yamagami. He is in custody.
Abe was briefly conscious after being shot.
He was reported to be in cardiac arrest.
He has been airlifted to hospital. Death is not yet confirmed.
>Death is not yet confirmed.
NHK is reporting "cardiac arrest, no signs of life." It's just a technicality from the hospital at this point.
I by no means agreed with Abe on everything. I certainly feel he got some things wrong, but he also got some things very right. He was a man who dedicated his life to his country. Much more than can be said about most human beings.
i guess in USA guns are so easy to get, and in Europe they have so much money, you guys have never encountered homemade shotguns out of pipes
in latam they are very popular weapons
i could make an entire dump out the ones our police get from confiscation
>you guys have never encountered homemade shotguns out of pipes
Do you have the least fricking idea of where you are? Holy God damned shit are you one stupid and clueless motherfricker.
Slam bang shotguns still require shells, and Japan has strict regulations on ammo where every round needs to be accounted for if you want to buy more. This was almost certainly a muzzle loader.
i agree because all the videos i have seen theres a lot of smoke coming from the shots
anyway smuggling shells in a country is much easier than smuggling a gun, so making a slam bang shotgun is much more viable
>bunch of gym muscle wannabes on far-right Twitter in the US are showing off their gym muscles like they're Instagram models while posting Nietzsche quotes that they barely understand themselves >meanwhile a skinny Japanese guy builds a homemade gun and waxes a top politician
That my friends is the difference between posers and the real deal.
In all fairness, dressing up like the Joker is vastly easier in almost anywhere. Especially Japan. Have you ever tried to rape a squeaky toy? Traumatizing.
It's genuinely true. A very few anime achieve any sort of popularity. The entire reason the anime industry exists is because otaku spend a shitload of money on anime shit.
>take a look through tokyo. massive billboards where sports teams would be advertised in the US are instead anime
This does not mean people are actually watching anime. >moron
Go take a look through Tokyo and ask some people what their favorite anime is, and be shocked when the answer is Snow White or Cinderella.
Dunno bout that. All the random chicks I banged in while working there had notebooks with anime stickers and shit with weird cosplay sweatshirts.
This was Fukuoka and Atsugi.
Very very few is a big overstatement. I've been here for over a decade now and there are lots of normies who are secret otaku. Like a former model I know who does gunpla. Or a cute housewife I used to work with who does cosplay. Or a Japanese bodybuilder who drunkenly admitted that he loves K-On, particularly Azunyan, to me.
Don't confuse bugs with japs. Also, language conventions are radically different between cultures. Try explaining to an Asian what "over the rainbow means." Even in English it has three or five meanings.

You can't just go to your LGS and pick up shot shells in japan, it was likely powder from fireworks and assorted metal bits
In my understanding killing japanese politicians is totally pointless since they all come from old money and massive influential families so the public faces in charge are entirely interchangeable.
Even if you wipe out 90% of Japan off the face of the Earth in an instant, the same exact families will still be in charge.
You are right about them being completely interchangeable, but the people carrying out these attacks are doing it to put fear and chaos into the political system. If the current politicians begin acting rashly out of fear for their lives then everything went according to plan.
Nobody knows, but the guy is confirmed ex JMSDF.
So he's probably a schizo or ultra-right.
Abe, despite his reputation in the Western press, is a neoliberal, not a conservative.
Perhaps my choice of the word conservative was wrong.
The western press characterize him as being somewhere to the right of Orban, when he's probably more like Boris Johnson.
>Abe, despite his reputation in the Western press, is a neoliberal, not a conservative.
No clue about his real policies, but I had a dream once that I was a Japanese girl and he was strapping me to a cage like that scene from Temple of Doom, except instead of a lava pit it was a cum pit and it was part of his policy to increase the population.
> First serious political assisination in Jaoan since the 60s (barring a local dude dropped by yakuza in the 00s) > With a homemade firearm
Strange times we live in.
If you wait 10 years and live in the rural Japan countryside MAYBE we'll let you have a single break open shot gun.
What's that? You were late to work by 23.45 seconds once? We can't trust you with a gun!
About as strict as it gets without completely banning them. The only thing you can get as a regular person is an over/under shotgun and it involves a long process of training, psych evals, background checks, random police inspections in your house, etc. It's possible for some people to get bolt-action or, in very rare cases, "hunting-style" semiautos (I've seen a pic of a Japanese hunter with a Remington 7400 or something similar), but afaik you have to meet special requirements like owning rural land in an area with dangerous wildlife or being some kind of professional hunter.
Yeah, from what I've heard you have to give the police a map of your house with the location of the safe, let them inspect it before you get the gun, and then they can show up unannounced at any time later and make sure you're storing it correctly. I think you have to lock the gun itself, the bolt, and the ammo in separate compartments or containers too, though I'm not sure how that'd work with a break-action shotgun.
In my part of Europe it's mandatory to store your guns behind lock and key, but hilariously the cops have no way to inspect your storage arrangement without a warrant
Immense. It makes New York method of background checking look like Arizona's. I recall of an idol who wanted to do skeet and trap shooting go through a month of red tape and background checks before she got clearance.
From what I remember it's >extensive background checks >proof of appropriate "need" (Are you a career hunter? Are bears a legitimate threat in your area?) >mandatory training and license renewal every sixish months >guns cannot be inherited or passed down >every firearm you have is subject to seizure at a moment's notice >written local police approval confirming all of the above
Once you get through that rigmarole you're limited to, iirc, shotguns with 3 shell capacity max or a bolt action rifle.
How did he miss though, don't the shell spread if it's shotgun? And how did there is zero crossfire? I don't really know about this weapon.
Shit is literally pipes and ductedtape, hell I could believe that this is some part of a conspiracy theory purely on the grounds that I'm surprised it managed to hit Abe at all, even from that range.
>Yeah but it didn't hit its intended target
CNN is reporting now that he's been shot in the right side of the neck and the chest, meaning unless he was using some kind of shot loads and not solid projos both shots hit.
Wonder why he didn't react to the first shot then, maybe he was in shock?
Me too.
The conspiracy I read is the shots were supposed to be shot at the same time, but somehow the timing got off so you hear two gunfire.

Maybe. Sort of the last thing you expect in Japan, right? I mean he's not even in power anymore, so it would take a serious grudge or mental illness to go through all the trouble of building a gun and throwing your life away for no real reason, so he was probably like "are you fricking kidding me?" at first.

True, guy is almost 70 too so his age wouldn't have helped him there.
Ah, that's the pic I mentioned earlier, gun appears to be semiauto. I thought I remembered it being a 740/7400 but now that I see it again maybe it's a shotgun, barrel looks skinny so maybe 20ga.

Looks like it's actually next to the trigger and would force you to pull the trigger with just your fingertip. Maybe some kind of anti-ND thing, or to make it harder for an assailant to pull the trigger in a struggle?
Yeah, it's a plastic safety plug, like the one popular with Glock owners for a while. Basically you have to push it out with your trigger finger before firing; easy to do, but if some thug grabs your piece, it'll give you a couple seconds to tackle them before they figure it out.
They do pretty much everything to ensure lethal force is the last resort. It's fricked them over before. A few years back there were strings of attacks against random police boxes when schizos with hammers and knives busted in and killed or maimed the cops inside. The first 1-2 rounds in their revolvers are blanks to hopefully "persuade" the attacker into fleeing or surrendering. Obviously doesn't work out too well in situations like that.
The Nambu 60 is in the process of being phased out. SPs usually carry either S&W Model 37 or SIG P230, although they may carry other models. I'm wondering how many of the Model 37s are actually the newer S&W 360J.
>The Nambu 60 is in the process of being phased out.
I wonder if they'll make it onto the american market. I bet loads of people would buy them even if the barrels were shot out.
Some apparently did a few years back, although I have no clue how many or in what condition.
Confirmed schizo NEET, not Chinese assassin, then?
Former JMSDF, actually, and he stated he just hated Abe. Maybe he talked shit about his waifu and got adsepped over it, who knows.

Thought that was the Koreans with the blanks? I heard depending on the exact PD most Japanese beat cops only load 4 chambers but those are all 158 grain wadcutters.
>Thought that was the Koreans with the blanks?
It's a similar story in Japan. Or at least it was. I think the police box attacks might have changed the doctrine for some of them. If they got rid of the blanks or are still using them I doubt they'll ever say.
Probably. There's a lot of Nambu 60s still in inventory, and they're still being issued until maintenance/wear issues become untenable for that specific weapon.

Most likely all the koban attacks probably changed doctrine, like how they started issuing weapons to policewomen after one got kidnapped and raped back in the '70s or '80s.
>like how they started issuing weapons to policewomen after one got kidnapped and raped back in the '70s or '80s.
Total tangent here, but did they get rid of the skirts? I remember seeing them in real life and my first time in Japan was '08 so they had them at least that recently, but most of the pics I can find now show pants. (Aside from the obviously fake ones with models etc.)

Ayup looks like a battery strapped to the bottom. Probably those rechargeable airsoft ones.
Probably a black powder gun with electronic ignition. Pretty simple shit. Its just like building a potato cannon but with steel pipes.
What would have he used for ammo?
Probably ball bearings.
Probably powder from fireworks, otherwise homemade black powder. Projectiles are anyone's guess, but likely either shot or random shrapnel, I don't think those barrels would've held up to a fitted slug.
Probably bicycle bearing balls

>ask a gypsy
You don't make deals with those inhuman beings. In the best case scenario you will get robbed.
NHK confirms the gun has been confiscated and is handmade at least, with metal and black tape.
Chad Japanese assassin successfully targets a high-profile politician with a homemade gun
Virgin American mass shooter can easily buy an infantry squad's worth of automatic weapons but targets people at the local school or Walmart instead of targeting billionaires or politicians
Although to be fair of course, it's likely that politicians in Japan have a lot less protection than they do in the US because they don't expect these kinds of things to happen
>shoot an old man in the back
>while he's giving a speech to a small crowd
>from 30 feet away
>while he has no idea you even exist
> "chad"
Puke-eating coward. Just the same as anyone who calls that a "chad." have a nice day, (You) puke-eating coward.
Why do I give a frick if a dead man knows who I am?
Politicians need their Franz Ferdinand reminder from time to time.
>stay safe over there.
homie he is probably way safer in Japan than you are wherever.
This. Every politician should be scared that maybe some rifle poking out of a local bush might brutally murder them. They should be constantly scared of that.
100% agree, if they want to swan around lining their pockets with my tax dollars then they had better be ready to risk their fricking neck for the privilege
Honestly yea it’s bs. Just recently it was announced someone stopped a intended shooting at a Amazon warehouse which is like… yea that’s “convenient”
first thought in my mind????definitly becoming a 4cha degen...
>The Last major Jap Politician assassination was 100 years ago.
Americans claim they gonna do shit all the time yet the japanese just get shit done without 2A
>get shit done
>kill a former politician who hasn't been in office for a decade
uh
you don't know much about japan if you think their politicians ever retire
He only left in 2020 and this was some kind of campaign rally, I assume he was running for another term. (Unless it was campaigning for somebody else?)
He was campaigning for local politicians, said NHK World.
He resigned due to health reasons in 2020, and has been active inside the party still. Abe was still a political force.
Oh yeah?
Why is obama still alive
Because he was the best US president in living memory.
>Because he was the best US president in living memory.
Never change /k/
Trolling or stupid?
There are people who unironically believe this. It's sad, really.
Absolutely. Without question. He was preceded by a complete disgrace and followed by a disgraceful turd.
unironically this, and i don't even mean that as a compliment. the rest were just that bad.
Exactly what I mean. No matter how you slice it he wins by default.
Honestly agree. We've been on a major shit streak since at least Nixon
What, specifically, did he do that was good?
Removed federal restrictions on carrying firearms in national parks. Actually a pretty big deal.
Other than that, he managed not to be Bush, Trump, or Biden.
He wasn't Clinton or Bush 1 either. It's frankly ridiculous how long America has gone without a President who was even slightly impressive.
Return to /misc/, fricktard.
Legalized bump stocks. But that didn't make up for trying to grab guns from anyone with a medical caretaker.
He had zero high profile scandels, fast and the furious and drone strikes. That's it. The bar was that low.
>fast and the furious and drone strikes
Search string "operation quarterback"
The ATF had gone rogue because of Qtards from the Cheney administration.
Same for drone strike. Continued policy from the Cheney Administration. Also, if you have two brain cells to rub together, drones have been the go-to for the whole fricking world for over 25 years.
You fricking shitwits really are too moronic to be left alive.
>implying cheney was president
>time travelling qanon
is this bait?
KYS
(You)
Because American presidents travel around the US with almost the same level of protection that they would travel around a conquered country like Iraq with, plus America's gun nuts are 99.9% bark and no bite and so the most of the Americans who actually do commit political violence are random crazies who go on a revenge spree against the local school or concert or whatever instead of being dedicated political militants.
I think that it's still a big deal because doing something like that makes the politicians who are in office realize that they might face some consequences later on whether they're still in office or not.
>Asanuma
>Major politician.
homie was just a member of the Diet's lower house. We're talking PM's and Ex-PM's here.
Based Otoya Yamaguchi
It's literally just 2 pipes duct-taped
Confirmed schizo NEET, not Chinese assassin, then?
Japanese assassinations used to be cooler.
the amount of energy this many transferred into the stab is incredible
You sure the attacker wasnt getting shot at?
It's Japan.
the flash is a flashbulb going off
Soulful vs soulless
Did the guy with the sword get head shotted?
No. It's Japan. Literally nobody in the room had a gun.
Looks like the guy got shot in the head
He very much was not.
No it looks like he ran chin first into a heavier man's shoulder you fricking barnacle.
>you fricking barnacle.
Stealin' that. You frickin' barnacle.
No he just really slammed into the guy. The flash you see is a camera flash from the press.
I think he got hanged?
He hanged himself.
But hardcore motherfricker till the end, read this:
>Less than three weeks after the assassination, on 2 November, Yamaguchi mixed a small amount of toothpaste with water and wrote on his cell wall, "Long live the Emperor" and “Would that I had seven lives to give for my country” (七生報国, shichishō hōkoku), the latter a reference to the famous last words of fourteenth-century samurai Kusunoki Masashige.[2] Yamaguchi then knotted strips of his bedsheet into a makeshift rope and used it to hang himself from a light fixture.[2][11]
Oh, he Wun Hung Fuk.
honestly Otoya Yamaguchi was a patsy for US intelligence agents.
the communist leader he assassinated was basically going to push Japan into a non-aligned movement and out of single-party LDP rule.
F
Can't believe he got done by a fallout 4 gun that's wild
It's literally two metal pipes, one end capped off, that seems to be loaded from the muzzle and ignited electrically.
This motherfricker made an electrically-ignited, black powder muzzleloader. Possibly with homemade powder, too.
i guess in USA guns are so easy to get, and in Europe they have so much money, you guys have never encountered homemade shotguns out of pipes
in latam they are very popular weapons
i could make an entire dump out the ones our police get from confiscation
Got any with an electric trigger though?
nta but shotgun shells are way easier to get in latam than in japan, so no need for an electric mechanism to ignite blackpowder
mfw pdi takes your 12 dollars
>you guys have never encountered homemade shotguns out of pipes
Do you have the least fricking idea of where you are? Holy God damned shit are you one stupid and clueless motherfricker.
That German autist who killed that old woman and quit his live stream in shame had a luty and a pipe shotgun.
It's pic related
too bad it's made for ants
>1071x5782
>made for ants
Get some fricking glasses, my man.
>t. phoneposter
Hunters leave plenty of empty shells out in rural areas. Reloading one with homemade powder is not unthinkable
This, Japan also loves fireworks, it's a cheap untraceable way to get a ton of quality black powder.
>Teddy Roosevelt gets shot during a speech
>Keeps going
>Shinzo Abe gets shot during a speech
>Possibly dead

I think uniqlo

That my friends is the difference between posers and the real deal.
Bronze Age Pervert and his consequences have been a disaster for right-wing nationalism.
Because those homosexuals are attention prostitutes with no goals, this dude clearly had a goal and he reached for it.
Two things:
1) damn, that boy is packing
2) damn, hope I look that good at 41
I mean, seriously. Look at that fricking package. I'd be tossing dick to spare into all the Asian poussy.
>damn, that boy is packing
Holy shit. Japanese people are small so it might look bigger than it actually is, but that's still pretty impressive.
Thank God he was wearing his mask. I was scared Abe might die of COVID.
That's not Abe.
Abe was not wearing a mask.
ummm sweaty the mask is for hecking other peoples protection??? what the heck you aren't following the science
I would imagine he probably did it to blend in
Suspect is ex JMSDF.
My money is on schizo.
probably. alot of jap men go all violent schizo for whatever reason. he was probably trying to protest government mandated anime waifus or something
It's far more likely he got tired of Abe telling him to stop fricking anime pillows and actually reproduce
>I HATE SEXUAL REPRODUCTION! I HATE SEXUAL REPRODUCTION!
incel japs will go on schizo murder sprees and dress up like the joker rather than have sex. SAD!
In all fairness, dressing up like the Joker is vastly easier in almost anywhere. Especially Japan. Have you ever tried to rape a squeaky toy? Traumatizing.
What's up with the head of state named Abe and being shot in the back?
pick up your starting weapon
all homemade guns
Sir, I'm white.
>the one thats literally just a pipe with a poky stick in separate halves
I really dont understand the scare around 3d pringing when that's all it takes to make a gun.
Homemade gun and no anime flair? FALSE FLAG.
Anime isn't popular in Japan.
moron
It's genuinely true. A very few anime achieve any sort of popularity. The entire reason the anime industry exists is because otaku spend a shitload of money on anime shit.
Weeb,
take a look through tokyo. massive billboards where sports teams would be advertised in the US are instead anime
obligatory moron
>take a look through tokyo. massive billboards where sports teams would be advertised in the US are instead anime
This does not mean people are actually watching anime.
>moron
Go take a look through Tokyo and ask some people what their favorite anime is, and be shocked when the answer is Snow White or Cinderella.
dishonest dubs
Dunno bout that. All the random chicks I banged in while working there had notebooks with anime stickers and shit with weird cosplay sweatshirts.
This was Fukuoka and Atsugi.
>Westerners pay for anime
Black person what the fuk yuo think it be like it does?
>Black person what the fuk yuo think it be like it does?
Not everybody in Japan is an otaku.
In fact, very, very few are.
You don't have to be an otaku to be an anime fan. Nothing about your comment is related to the comment you responded to. Get a fricking life already.

The hacker known as "Five Chan"
do bugs really talk like this?
Jap->English machine translations are notoriously bad
They're sorta autistic and their language is inherently autistic, but machine translations make it worse.
UOOOOOOH KILLING OF EX-PRIME MINISTER EROTIC....POLITICAL ASSASSINATION EROTIC.
Don't confuse bugs with japs. Also, language conventions are radically different between cultures. Try explaining to an Asian what "over the rainbow means." Even in English it has three or five meanings.
moron
>Tailwind will enter ballot day without weakening
Based Japs and their romantic evocative poetry
improvised from pipe and tape. Japan laws restricts ammo to those with hunting licenses. he literary made a muzzleloader with fireworks.
But gun control will stop all gun crime!
Pipes, electrical tape, electrical wires.
Firework gunpowder, shrapnel, it's a homemade blunderbuss.
Some says there is a battery on its grip, so it may be a electronic firing gun.
Must feel weird to get killed by a blunderbuss in 2022
Maybe he's a Looper?
Where were you when Abe was shot?
Was just about to go to bed.
sorry for poor eigo
when were you when shinzo abe dies
i was sat at home drinking amazake when taro ring

Double barrell zip gun with no sights, shotgun shells? How come no one else got injured?
The first shot didn't even look like it hit anything. Abe didn't even turn around, much less react. Just a lot of noise and smoke.
The guy on the stage isn't Abe. Abe is on the ground toward the left of the video. You see him drop after the first shot.
Yes, it is. There's another video that clearly shows it's him.
Well then the first shot clearly hit someone else then.
It's a blunderbuss, it hit everyone
Because he was on a stage by himself with no one close enough to be hit?
From the fact that he got a through-and-through hit I'm wondering if he wasn't using some sort of bore-sized "pumpkin ball" slugs. Would explain the injuries and so forth.
You can't just go to your LGS and pick up shot shells in japan, it was likely powder from fireworks and assorted metal bits
What I meant is that he probably cast some pumpkin balls himself. Melting down scrap lead into a homemade mold isn't hard.
Japanese engineering
Perhaps your assumptions are biased towards video games. Shot spread isn't as dramatic in real life
I kinda doubt he was using flight control wads fricknut
>Flight control wads
>Driveway distances
>driveway distances
Doesn't look like 500 yards to me.
First shot missed, not sure where it went but the second shot struck home.
So what’s the motive? Cult shenanigans again?
>politician shot while giving a speech at a political event
Wow, I wonder what the motive is.
Nobody knows, but the guy is confirmed ex JMSDF.
So he's probably a schizo or ultra-right.
Abe, despite his reputation in the Western press, is a neoliberal, not a conservative.
>is a neoliberal, not a conservative.
neoliberal are conservative. "liberal" refer to classical liberal who wanted less government (anti-royalist).
neoliberal are essentially crony capitalism where the goverment serve the interest of big business.
Perhaps my choice of the word conservative was wrong.
The western press characterize him as being somewhere to the right of Orban, when he's probably more like Boris Johnson.
>Abe, despite his reputation in the Western press, is a neoliberal, not a conservative.
No clue about his real policies, but I had a dream once that I was a Japanese girl and he was strapping me to a cage like that scene from Temple of Doom, except instead of a lava pit it was a cum pit and it was part of his policy to increase the population.
hot
Some said the guy was an ex-JMSDF, it could be someone against re-militarization.
Which would be exceptionally moronic seeing as how things are starting to heat up again
NHK is reporting the guy said he just hated Abe. Seems like a schizo.
> First serious political assisination in Jaoan since the 60s (barring a local dude dropped by yakuza in the 00s)
> With a homemade firearm
Strange times we live in.
Current PM is speaking right now. Still alive, in critical condition
I guess Abe is a bad name to have if you're a politician.
How strict are Japanese gun laws anyways?
they make buying a fullauto nfa item or silencer in america look like a cakewalk.
It's possible for some people to get bolt-action or, in very rare cases, "hunting-style" semiautos (I've seen a pic of a Japanese hunter with a Remington 7400 or something similar), but afaik you have to meet special requirements like owning rural land in an area with dangerous wildlife or being some kind of professional hunter.
>random police inspections in your house
Damn, that's some fricked law. And i'm speaking from europe.
Well technically their constitution straight out bans the possession of weapons of any kind, and then they made limited exceptions
From what I remember it's
>extensive background checks
>proof of appropriate "need" (Are you a career hunter? Are bears a legitimate threat in your area?)
>mandatory training and license renewal every sixish months
>guns cannot be inherited or passed down
>every firearm you have is subject to seizure at a moment's notice
>written local police approval confirming all of the above
Once you get through that rigmarole you're limited to, iirc, shotguns with 3 shell capacity max or a bolt action rifle.
>license renewal every sixish months
That's the worse of them. In Spain i only have to show the weapons to the police one time every 5 years.
Every 5 years?? In the US we never have to renew any guns ever.
Severely underrated.
The best pic I can find
Does this gun can shoot twice?
There's growing conspiracy that the second shot was from different person.
It's a double barrel, my man. Two barrels, two shots.
You can see the 2 end caps
you can clearly see it has two barrels
There are clearly 2 pipes anon
THERE ARE FOUR PIPES!
The second shooter is identified as Samo Hydo.
>Does this gun can shoot twice?
He missed first shot, hit with the second actually.
>He missed first shot
You can clearly see a guy dropping after the first shot though.
I would have dropped too if I heard something that loud and close
He's taking cover.
Maybe he was just throwing to the floor, scared.
Yeah but it didn't hit its intended target
Shit is literally pipes and ductedtape, hell I could believe that this is some part of a conspiracy theory purely on the grounds that I'm surprised it managed to hit Abe at all, even from that range.
>Shit is literally pipes and ductedtape
10,000 wraps of duct tape
>Yeah but it didn't hit its intended target
CNN is reporting now that he's been shot in the right side of the neck and the chest, meaning unless he was using some kind of shot loads and not solid projos both shots hit.
Wonder why he didn't react to the first shot then, maybe he was in shock?
I see, stay safe over there.
Maybe. Sort of the last thing you expect in Japan, right? I mean he's not even in power anymore, so it would take a serious grudge or mental illness to go through all the trouble of building a gun and throwing your life away for no real reason, so he was probably like "are you fricking kidding me?" at first.
Me too.
The conspiracy I read is the shots were supposed to be shot at the same time, but somehow the timing got off so you hear two gunfire.
The current suspect probably their scapegoat in case of interrogation.
Sorry for my English, I am Japanese.
>The current suspect probably their scapegoat in case of interrogation.
I get that he was still highly influential, but it's still weird to me that someone would cap Abe after he's been out of office so long.
I'll jsut copy-paste something I wrote in another thread
>It's fairly clever, actually. Think about it, Shinzo was still very well known and active in politics but now that he wasn't the prime minister he had a hell of a lot less security. Perfect time to take a shot.
True, guy is almost 70 too so his age wouldn't have helped him there.
How did he miss though, don't the shell spread if it's shotgun? And how did there is zero crossfire? I don't really know about this weapon.
Looks like he used toggle switches as triggers
>NOT making a 4 barrel version
Just to be sure.
I now question whether this man is really Japanese.
He is former Japanese mariner, so yeah.
I hope it's worth the prison time. Apparently it's really soul crushing stuff in Japan.
>prison time
They're gonna hang him
Japan still has a death sentence. Boy is going to get it.
Wonder what kind of handgun inside bodyguard holster. Looks like a .38 revolver?
Probably a Nambu Model 60. Basically an S&W clone, though not of any specific S&W model.
What's behind the trigger? Some kind of safety plug?
I absolutely fricking would. That's a rare bird right there dude, not every day you get a chance to grab something like that.
Some apparently did a few years back, although I have no clue how many or in what condition.
The holster looks too long for the S&W, though, and just about right for the Nambu. Maybe the guards for ex-PMs are low on the list to get new guns.
Probably depends by region, but they seem to be in pants at least in some places.
Yeah that's what I was seeing. At least they still have the cute hats, I guess. Maybe it depends on their assignment rather than region too.
That policewoman looks cute in a friendly and approachable way
I bet she is dutiful and thorough in her work, and encourages those around her to try their hardest
No idea.
WHAT THE FRICK SOMEONE REALLY SHOT ABE?
Oof CNN is reporting Abe took at least one of the shots into the right side of his fricking neck.
Brutal.
Better pic
Well /k/, given from what you've seen of it so far, how do you rate it?
did it's job/10
We don't know yet. If Abe is not confirmed dead by morning burger time, then the gun is shit
Well, it killed a former president. So i give it a 10 out of ten, of course.
It's ugly, it's held together bubbah style, and it somehow has done a better job at killing a politician then actual factory made weapons.
All in all, pretty good.
It just works™
2/12
Piss poor craftsmanship from a japanese, very dishonorable. His family must be shamed for a thousand generations.

Kino Double barrel shotgun

>same pic that has already been posted several times in this very thread
So what kind of guy was Abe so I can justify whether this shooting was based or not
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinzo_Abe#Migration
Abe was pretty based and made Chinks and pacifists seethe
From what little I understand the man himself was just another LDP figurehead. Anything good or bad about him could be attributed to the rest of the party.
Fairly conservative, nationalist, anti-immigration, against most of western liberal policies, capitalist. Had long history of relativizing Japanese WWII crimes. Something between Trump but not moronic and Thatcher but not as sharkishly capitalist.
So I think assassin was either a schizo with personal reasons or leftist.
There's reports that he just hated Abe. So yes, just personal reasons.

>guy is ex military
Well thats the SDF fricked for the next decade kek
Looks like he'll be fine
He was shot in the back. The pellets went through
News said he was clinically dead on the spot.
yes hello where are the proofs
Literally open any media. They all say his heart was not working + what this anon said
Theres other vids floating around of him with an AED on him within about a minute of that pic being taken, if that didn't work then emt's likely 2 more minutes away. So at minimum even if they were able to stabilize him he's looking at brain damage. It doesn't look good
This post didn't age that well.
Gun control advocates seem real quiet on this one...
Probably because it just happened a few hours ago and it's the middle of the fricking night in the US right now.
It happened around midnight est, 9pm west coast, which is prime time for twitter. Plenty of time to cope and seethe
I'm sorry, but I keep reading his name as "Schizo Abe"
Anyone else doing the same??
He's been pronounced dead
