Soldiers on the front lines aren't watching a lot of enemy-promoted media, so that's not much of a factor. Anyway, that's not the main consideration, compared to promoting the perception that the Russians are both foul and desperate, both evil and beatable. If they believe it, it would also demoralize the Russian civilian population, and undermine their support of the war.
I see all of the Ukraine-boosters spreading this far and wide, so what sense does it make to say they wouldn't want people to believe it's happening?
