What is the Consensus on picrel?

Are they any good? I live near their HQ and I was looking of maybe supporting the local gun manufacturer, but I do not want to buy junk.

They’re one of the few companies that put out innovative products
Their QC and build quality in general are also meme-tier. They should partner up with somebody else to work out the kinks in their designs while they keep trying to figure out how to make some wacky shit happen

Early production tends to be full of flaws that are slowly worked out. Some guns are mostly flawless, some are full of user induced malfunctions, and some are just good ideas done poorly. Personally, my KSG runs perfectly for me, because I don’t baby it. I’ve handed it to others and watched them constantly short stroke it. Some would call that a flaw, I don’t have a problem with it though. My RDB had issues where the two arms would bind up with the bolt carrier on the last round bolt hold open function. I’ve bent them in a couple times, but 500 rounds or so later it’s binding again. I’m thinking about factory deleting it, thus eliminating the only problem I’ve had with it. Just haven’t gotten around to it because I just don’t shoot 5.56 much with prices the way they are.

This, its my main carry gun. easy to carry and easy to shoot. I hope they come out with a double stack version soon

hell yeah a double stack that can maybe have some funky tiny redot would make it sooo cool

but the p3s with the mecgar 10 rounder on it gives you 11 shots of good enough for ww1 .32 acp hate

Cp33 is all I can speak on. Its amazingly cool and innovative and I love it. If you don't have a speedloader for it, it will jam as a quad stack rim fire is finicky if loaded incorrectly. I'd say they're a cool company that deserves their niche but it's not like they make rock solid defense guns like glock

I felt the same when I lived in Cocoa Beach, but everytime I’d go to my FFL to pick up something way more bad ass I’d finger frick some Kel Tecs and come away thinking they just felt like toys.
Probably 10-15 guns I would want ahead of them, and I already have 20-30 so I don’t know.

the Kel Tecs I would want:
-PMR 30 and CMR30(CMR30 feels cheap as shit though) with marbo upgrades
-that small .32 ACP they discontinued
    -the KS7
-maybe the P17 because it’s so cheap looking and ugly

P17 is great, even cycles SS loads

Kelgren doesnt care, its just a hobby to him. Once he gets bored of a concept, it gets no further iteration or refinement, hence why the RFB is still held together by like 12 hex screws after over 20 years. Personally I find that based as frick and a dream job, but from a business and product perspective its frustrating.

I own a KelTec p17 and a cp33, i like them both but there is a trick to loading the cp33 magazines because quadruple stack rimfire is as finicky as it sounds

it makes for a great little PDW plinker though, i have the collapsable stock, holosun 507c, suppressor and BCM gunfighter (87 degree foregrip) on mine

I have two sub2ks (one for me, one for wife), a p17, and just ordered the metal p15 last night. I have shot the RDB and KS7, both of which were sweet. The fact they are made in Florida is even better. Probably the only gun company I actually like stateside, besides PSA.

I wish they could expand production capabilities, but they are too damn fiscally responsible and won't take out loans because of the precarious nature of gun legislation.

I thought the Sub2000 would be hot trash but it actually shot quite well. A buddy bought one a few years before the troony went on a rampage. Now it will forever be the troony gun. Shame really.

The RDB series is the only 'good' thing keltec makes. Everything else is cheap and slightly crappy.

If it weren't for Kel-Tec playing mad libs with their designs, we'd be stuck with boring decent guns, and Hi-Point.

PSA is starting to make some less traditional designs that fill some random niche need too. Kel Tec has always had some completely out there designs though but not impractical ones. Like a bullpup shotgun, why it didn't exist sooner is ridiculous.
