what is the cheapest non-commital way to grow a weed plant at home?

what is the cheapest non-commital way to grow a weed plant at home? I never smoked weed and I would like to try it, now of course I could go buy some but its not legal in my country and I'm scared it will be laced with some shit and I go full shizo mode.

They have some grow tents online but it all in one it will cost me like 500€ for something that I might not even like.

can i just stick a pot under a strong desk light?
I'm satisfied with a 5-10 gram harvest.

    >desk light
You need the right bulb. Do that and you can probably grow a few meh plants. I’ve had friends do a couple plants in a closer with a single grow light. You need some air movement too otherwise the humidity might get you mold and bullshit.

Start off with a handful of small guys and you gotta get rid of the male plants early. Remember that only the female plants give you buds and if the male plants have a chance to fertilize the female plants, you lose like 80% of the quality. Then learn about drying and trimming properly. It’s a black hole of info when you really get into it, but plants grow like plants grow, I had a small one growing on my desk til I got bored of it.

Also full grown weed plants are pretty big, like 4ft tall at least and a few feet across.

OP you have a lot to think on.
How will you get seeds or clones? can you get nutrients or materials easy? where can you throw your clippings away? do you have a space to cure your product after the harvest?
your plants are going to take 9 weeks to flower. thats not including time for veg stage. 5-10 grams is a horrible yield for an investment like that. think about having to tend your plants at least twice a week all for 10 grams? you should shoot for at least an ounce per plant, or 1 gram for every watt of light produced from your light (i.e. 100w= 100 grams)
the biggest two things that affect yield are light and nutrients.
You will need a decent light if you want your plants to do anything. if you use led you need at least a 150w. you can get away with HPS bulbs but this will increase the heat in your tent or grow space. The other half of the battle is nutrients. you cant just give your plants regular water. you want to keep the PH around 6.2-6.3. because your plants cant get all the nutrients from the soil or sunlight you need to supplement their diets. You can run a 3 part nutrient kit, expect to spend around $100 on nutrients every grow cycle.
Lastly you need to control your environment. tents make this the easiest way to do so, but limit overall space for growing. You can get 8 plants into a 4'x4' tent. your plants are going to rat you out with the smell unless you have proper ventilation. Like
said, you need to have air movement,(intake, exhaust) in order to prevent molding and bud rot.

Man you must be smoking weed I've seen crack houses with plants growing out of the toilet they just fill the bowl with a bag of miracle gro potting mix and call it a day. Weed is fricking easy to grow.

yes, weed is easy to grow, thats why they call it weed.
Quality weed is not easy to grow.

      Jesus Christ… Where to begin?
      >You need the right bulb. Do that and you can probably grow a few meh plants. I’ve had friends do a couple plants in a closer with a single grow light.
Not with a desk lamp bulb. The plants will stretch, fall over, and die. Your friends were highly skilled if they were able to pull a successful grow of a single plant with a desk lamp. Multiple plants would be impossible.
      >Start off with a handful of small guys and you gotta get rid of the male plants early.
They’ve been producing feminized seeds for quite a while now.
      >if the male plants have a chance to fertilize the female plants, you lose like 80% of the quality.
You absolute bell end. Have you ever actually consumed cannabis? Sinsemilla is far better but it’s not 80% more potent.
      >Also full grown weed plants are pretty big, like 4ft tall at least and a few feet across.
This is very strain and grower dependent.

OP , the internet has everything you need but not here. Not trying to be rude but it sounds like you want to be somewhat spoon fed how to do this. It’s not rocket science but you need to know some things and this isn’t where you’re going to get good advice. Find a message board and start reading. I suggest rollitup.org

I’m and I forgot to add; you need to read up on your laws. Know how your system works and what possible penalties you’re facing. Don’t frick around! Even the most stealth grow can be found by accident.

This leads me to my next point. If you’re going to do this research the smell level of any strain you decide to grow. I personally wouldn’t grow at all without a carbon filter but I have grown strains that you have to get right up on the plant to smell. I’ve grown others that you could smell outside the house when I had a carbon filter issue.

Which leads me to my last point; DONT BUY CHEAP ASS FILTERS!!! You get what you pay for. Order a https://canfilters.com/

I once used a cheap filter I got of Amazon. I air right at the pump exhaust smelled clean. However I was growing a real smelly fricker https://www.cannaconnection.com/strains/blue-dream-matic
I couldn’t smell it right after the filter but I could on my front porch! I guess the filter somehow removed enough to not smell immediately, but not enough so that the smell built up in other areas. I ordered a can filter and it went away.

        Be careful op.

it's a pretty vigorous plant so you could literally put a seed in some dirt and put it in a window sill and there is a small chance eventually you will get some flower to smoke. The more light and nutrition you can provide, the more yield. If it's not legal to grow in your country, it will be hard to grow appreciable amounts without a housemate or neighbor noticing. I wouldn't recommend putting money into it until you have the right context meaning housemates or neighbors who are comfortable, and the financial wherewithal to invest in doing it safely.. yes hundreds of euros for lights, growth media, ferts, seeds, air quality control, etc. That little plant in your picture was probably grown under pretty intense light, but it obviously goes to show that you can harvest in small spaces, you don't need large amounts of space. I harvested a few grams with compact fluorescent bulbs in a locked trunk(about 4'x2'x2', plastic), setup cost a few hundred usd for lights, fan, carbon filter, timers, cords, trunk, etc. It's a lot of fun and the plants smell nice. I would put them in window sills and shit when i have my own house.

can you get nutrients or materials easy?
Miracle Grow is pretty easy to find.
    >where can you throw your clippings away?
You cut the leaves into very small pieces and flush them down the toilet. Repeat with the stems (and i mean very small, very time consuming process), do this until you get down to where the wpody material dosent have a smell then throw that away. If the cops are in the habit of checking your trash or watching you so close that you can’t go down to your nearest garbage can outside your home without being checked, growing isn’t the smartest move to begin with.
    >do you have a space to cure your product after the harvest?
What’s wrong with the area OP was growing in?
    >your plants are going to take 9 weeks to flower. thats not including time for veg stage.
9 weeks can happen but it’s also a meme. People read these numbers on seed bank websites and don’t understand it’s like gas mileage ratings on cars. It’s absolutely optimal conditions. If the seed bank says 9 weeks, you’d be smart to budget for 10 and go ahead and add another for safety. If OP is using bag seed, it could be 16 weeks for all they know.

      >5-10 grams is a horrible yield for an investment like that. think about having to tend your plants at least twice a week all for 10 grams?
That’s what OP wants. What do you care for?
      > you should shoot for at least an ounce per plant,
That’s great advice seeing as how for all you know, OP could live in a place where that amount could get them prison time for several years. Do you see the irony of you talking about investment to payoff ratio?

      >You will need a decent light if you want your plants to do anything. if you use led you need at least a 150w.
Again these numbers aren’t necessary for OP. 150 is plenty sufficient.
      >you can get away with HPS bulbs but this will increase the heat in your tent or grow space.
What? LED’s get hotter ‘n a morherfricker. If OP has the space they can set the ballast in a different area and wire a longer cord to the light. It’s not any harder than cutting wire and using wire nuts. If they don’t have that option then yes, led would be better but both add heat to the grow.

      >The other half of the battle is nutrients. you cant just give your plants regular water.
      Yes you can.
you want to keep the PH around 6.2-6.3. because your plants cant get all the nutrients from the soil or sunlight you need to supplement their diets. You can run a 3 part nutrient kit,
      >expect to spend around $100 on nutrients every grow cycle.
You are so full of shit.
Lastly you need to control your environment. tents make this the easiest way to do so, but limit overall space for growing.
      >You can get 8 plants into a 4'x4' tent.
And again you’re trying to get OP sent to the booty house, just stop homosexual.
      >your plants are going to rat you out with the smell unless you have proper ventilation.
True but you also need to know the smell level of the plant you’re growing. Of course this depends on you getting them from a seed bank.

Trying to respond while on an exercise bike obviously makes for a shitpost. Apologies.

You can just add regular water. You do need to test it first but it greatly depends on area. Also the ph numbers you listed, those numbers depend on a variety of factors, not least of which what OPs growing medium is and what ph it is.

Tents aren’t necessarily the best choice, at all. It becomes extremely difficult to balance humidity, heat, and ventilation in a smaller tent when the ambient conditions aren’t playing ball. Again, this depends on a variety of factors. Why the hell would you want to stick a hot ass light in a tent if you have the option of using a room and you’re in a warmer climate to begin with? If OP has room to house a 4’4’ tent as you suggested (because everyone HAS to have MONSTER yields), they probably have room to just grow the plants. If they’re worried about light leaks then that’s another matter. This really depends on OP’s particular situation.

    i have grown weed
first off you dont need money to grow weed
its a weed, you need dirt, fricking go in your backyard lol use your hands get dirt grow lol

ok so saying that the thing you need to pay attention to weed is the light cycle

    dont waste money on lights
thats beyond moronic if your growing less than 5 plants

also understand the light cycle daylenght

if you do you really dont need to do much
    second is strain
this is very important but certain strains such as durban poison grea sativa
    or white whidow
are very easy to grow and forgiving and yield a lot

ok so here in so cal
    seoson starts may 5
so you plant seed may 5, this sprough the shit in red cup with potting soil like barely any

then if you plant in the ground june 6
you dont have to do a godamm thing

by oct you will have a godam tree in your back yard

also you go to the dump or home depot and put compost on it like tomatotes
thats it compost like 10 bucks
seed like 30 20 online know

dont fricking waste money on weed

    ok expert level
you can use a regular light bulb to make the plant its summer , that is turn it on after 5pm turn of at 8pm like summer
if you start in dec you can plant outdoors feb and get a giant plant by may

    seriously its all tyming

    also strain
    but at this point
    stick to durban poison
    or white whidow
    its super easy

also good weed is strain dependant
    also compost dependant
    dont frick with fake ferilizers
