What is the best way to clean off old transmission oil from a compacted crushed asphalt driveway?

What is the best way to clean off old transmission oil from a compacted crushed asphalt driveway? Being transmission oil, it's fairly light oil right? I've already gone through the stains with Dawn and degreaser, but the stains are (obviously) still there. Would using cat litter to get the top layer off work? What about a propane torch to burn it off?

Laundry soap and a push broom, you have to really work it. You'll never get it all out.

I've done that, and it worked somewhat. I don't care much about getting ALL of it out, just the surface

resurface the driveway. dont be lazy

it's a long ass driveway and its only a few spots

oil will absorb into asphalt, you can't "clean" it off.
you can use some soap, water and kitty litter to remove the surface sheen, but the asphalt will still swell.

I just want to remove the sheen/surface oil

TSP is the goat, but it won't get it all out. ATF is rough on asphalt.

      I'll try this too

      dynamite.
More seriously, the oil is likely dissolved in the asphalt, youd have to distill the whole thing to truly get it out. You may be able to heat it up so much that the ATF boils/burns off, but the mark will likely still be there

this is my final solution if any of the other methods don't work

    slurry seal the driveway?
I'm an asphalt guy, but I manage much larger jobs than driveways, so I wouldn't know if this would be in your budget.

CLR grease magnet + baby powder into a paste. Apply about 1/2 inch thick and let dry. Pressure wash it off. Should do the trick. But may also leave a lighter area because the asphalt is also oily.

      will try this

Just leave it. Who gives a shit? Are you some kind of homosexual?

      y-yes

On a hot dry day, dispose of your used motor oil on the entire driveway.
Asphalt is oil, used motor oil is oil. When the entire driveway is a stain, there is no stain.

Also laying your old shingles out like bricks on a hot summer day is a good way to get rid of the shingles and reseal your asphalt driveway. Just be certain to remove the nails

      Love asphalt
      You're welcome

Crushed asphalt is easy to disrupt with a pick then repack oil side down, but I'd just be happy it's helping bond the driveway. I use a lot of crushed asphalt and love the oil tolerance.

The spill will fade in time. Don't overthink shit.

Shingles are also great as a base for crushed asphalt.

      so there anons are wrong?
