OP here, that is clearly the answer but I'm saying that in a scenario where you can bring only 1 type of ammo, but you'll have a large supply of it, what would you choose?
I'll give an example: 9mm ammo is more popular than .50bmg.
Then probably something like 5.56 or 5.45. Useable at short, medium and partially long range. Lots of guns that shoot these with lots of possible equipment for it. You can build an AR for any job outside of extreme long range and anti vehicle.
Yeah I think the bigger calibers are better. I've had this conversation with people before telling me how many times they've seen a .22 clip somebody up but then I'm like "ok and there's equally many times where it doesn't"
Nani?
>shoot 3 rounds of 45 acp >gun vibrates in your hand, causing immediate impact on the nerves and muscles of the hand >intense recoil pounds the body as each round is released
after a few it's too much
Yeah that makes reoil impulse nil the heavier the gun. You can even swap out the lower for plastic a la USP and shoot it all day without a hitch. What you may be doing is limp gripping it allowing the gun to slide back into your hand bruising you. This is suboptimal.
.308 Winchester/7.62x51 real-fricking-NATO
Good for hunting any game on any continent
Good for war against sophisticated and ghetto opponents alike
Good for any rifle competitions
More availible calibers can’t compete with sheer availability and load variety
My vote goes to .308. It can be easily shoulder fired and is useful against anything that isn’t significantly armored.
.223 is fine if you’re not going up against anything larger than medium game, but I’d call .308 “the one size to rule them all.”

Every game requires a different caliber
A deer can be taken with a 22LR
And a helicopter can be downed with a 50 BMG
