What is tactical advantage of sending one of your best IT specialist to meatgrinder?

Timur Izmailov, a former IT specialist for Raiffeisen Bank who was conscripted despite the Russian authorities promising draft deferments for bank IT employees, has been killed by mortar fire in Ukraine, his lawyer, Konstantin Yerokhin, reported on Friday.

Izmailov, who worked with Russia’s Mir payment system, was 33 years old when he died. He was conscripted on September 23, sent into combat on October 7, and killed on October 13.

You're missing the part where he from on the street to in the middle of combat in 2 weeks. Like, consider travel time and other basic shit and he probably got less than a week of training.

        >less than a week of training
        You're being extremely generous.
I think it's pretty safe to assume that the vast majority of newly conscripted russian soldiers are no longer receiving any meaningful training.

misread as "consider time travel", kek
        >and other basic shit and he probably got less than a week of training.
You seem to think that "training" involves actually learning military stuff, rather than "pick a uniform out of the pile of discarded used clothing, then sleep on a floor for a few days until we can ship you off to battle."

There were lots of these guys who got even less than that two-week lead time -- conscription was announced on September 24, forget about being handed papers and told to report, and they were getting captured by the first few days of October. I'm surprised they actually gave him two weeks of any sort of delay before putting him at the front.

Being crippled is better than not being.
He also could have seen it coming and retreat for a few years to a forest in siberia.

There was a Russian, I think on 4chan but maybe here, who was going to stay inside at his grandmother's house until the conscription thing went away. He felt that his grandmother would let him stay hidden and do all the shopping and such. I got the impression he was against the war, so I hope it works out for him.

I know that these men were essentially innocent bystanders who had no control over their fate. Some of them were probably good people, who had nothing against Ukraine. Many had loving families. On an individual level, none of them did anything bad enough to deserve getting pulped by a Ukrainian mortar drone. They were simply unlucky enough to be russian males in the year 2022.

And yet... I feel nothing. In fact, I'm perfectly okay with more of them dying, by the hundreds of thousands if need be. While it's my preference that these men get captured and spend the war in a POW camp, I really have no qualms about hundreds of thousands of them, maybe even millions of them, dying if that is the price to win this war and end russian aggression for all time.

Am I a bad person for feeling that way? I'm trying to muster up some human emotion for these men, but I just can't. All I can think about is that little girl in Bucha, defiled and murdered, laying on top of the corpses of her murdered family.

            >Am I a bad person for feeling that way?
No. They in fact had more options than just showing up and getting sent to fight. Hundreds of thousands of Russian military-age males flooded into Georgia, Finland, and other countries to escape the draft. They can go into hiding within Russia if they have family support. They can firebomb their local conscription office. Ruslan Zinin shot a draft officer dead -- and he apparently even announced ahead of time here on PrepHole that he was going to do it, see picrelated.

At some level, all of these "conscripts" chose their fates, and all of the ones at the front are being used to prolong the war. If they all killed their recruiting officers, if they all shot their officers and waved white flags to surrender, the war would end and they would live.

In terms of lifespan, i couldnt say too many variables. I would need to sit down and do some oryx shit to crank those numbers out. Chances of your average vatnik surviving are horrifically slim for a country that claims to have the "second army" chances go from okayish to damn near 90% chance of dying depending on what theater and what timeframe you end up there. currently Kherson and Bhakmut front seem to be a one way ticket to the great beyond for vatniks.

They had 20+ years to unfuck their country before it became the problem for the rest of the Europe. They had 8 months to at least demonstrate a protest against the war. Not only they did nothing, they cheered at their TVs and Telegram channels over the war crimes committed against the people whose only fault was that they didn’t want to be a part of your broken empire. So no, I don’t feel anything resembling pity. I don’t even want to see them tortured, though many people do, and I don’t blame them. I would be content with their quick and painless deaths that would accelerate bringing the end to this pointless war and return to normal life to those who paid for it with their blood.

As sad as it is, their death is better alternative than Russia winning here and getting empowered into a state where it is both willing and able to wage war on a larger scale. Obviously that kind of victory is not happening anymore at this rate, but what options do anyone else have here but kill them as long as Putin wants to keep his meatgrinder running?

So yeah, I can’t really feel any bloody pleasure on the death of mobniks (unlike as with Wagner etc.), but neither can I really feel too much sympathy on them, as the alternative scenario where they succeed is too horrible to consider.

It's been collapsing left and right. Twice in the last century. Last time was barely 30 years ago. That never helped.
Russia needs tabula rasa, a clean slate, a fresh start. It should be nuked. All of it. Every single remnant of russian/soviet culture. In the long run, that would be the most humane thing to do.

When the war crimes started popping up i was furious, full on fuck the russians mode, but ive had time to calm down

Some of these bastards never had a choice, putin took power in 2000, some of the guys being sent to the front are like 19 years old, they grew up in putinland and never voted for the guy, is it fair to expect they should fight to topple a dictator that was imposed on them?

It's not exactly fair to expect it, but that doesn't change the calculus of the situation. If you're being attacked by the enemy, you defend yourself whether the enemy is brainwashed or not. And being brainwashed is no excuse for cruelty - if you consciously choose to do something, it's part of who you are now regardless of what led to it. Child molesters who were molested themselves are still monsters. Just monsters with a sadder backstory.
It's been clear to me that the only thing that can possibly save the Russian people is the sundering of Russia and externally guided government that includes a purge of corrupt officials from every level. Let the -stans do their thing, make a half dozen Eastern European nations out of western Russia (with Moscow and St. Petersburg each being a capital), write their constitutions for them Japan-style, and steal everything owned by oligarchs and spend it on Ukraine reconstruction and reparations to ethnic groups that were displaced during the Soviet era.
Pipe dream, but within a generation or two of not being dehumanized by their own society Russians might have a chance to grow out of the fatalism. But they'll have to be watched closely and any sign of a strongman-type leader squashed.
They can't fix themselves but they can be saved. They just have to be destroyed first.

You speak like Russia has never had a revolution.
The people of Russia have risen up more than once.
In truth, I think some Army general/politician/local leader will probably wield the knife on the Putin regime, but only once things get 'really' bad.
You want to help the Russian people? Then Russia needs to get 'fucked up' as quick as possible. Because the longer this war continues, the more 'innocent' Russians will die.

You'd think WW1's dysgenic suicide of your own population would have been a lesson but the moron-rich oligarchs seem to have missed it.

You need to be careful with war crimes because it's easy to get hopped up on mythologicals like 'some' of the rape of belgium and the baby incubator shit of the first gulf war. That said there's plenty to be outraged in just the abstract about this, which is why the war crimes didn't phase me beyond making me realize I 100% would have been a victim (as I would have if I was there encouraged my family to leave and me to stay put, figuring Putin would win and it'd all blow over).

It's more just the sheer gayry and audacity of this dogshit and how it's brought us all down with him because of the economies (or god forbid nooks ook ook ook). Outside of China and their bat-eating plague no country has FUCKED the entire god damn world up with their incompetence and insolent bullshit like these Snow morons. Not even durka durkas screwed us up so much, we have ourselves to blame for patriot act and iraq war. And had the Russians been competent and actually fait accompli'd won then we'd all be better off except Ukraine as well. I wouldn't want that to happen but it's the fucking vatnik shit's fault how we had three options:

              >Best for everyone: Russia stays in its miserable little cave and never bothered Ukraine
              >Best for West and Russia, not for Ukraine: Russia invades competently and wins, sanctions are minimal.
              >Worst for the West, worst for Russia, worst in the short term for Ukraine but better in the long term: Russians are Russians and can't invade worth shit, now everyone is fucked.

Once and awhile I'll feel sorry for an individual Russian but collectively they can all go fuck off and die. You can probably count the courageous Russians in the single digit percentages. Is it scary? Yeah. Would I have the courage? I don't know. What I know is a bunch of habibis overthrew their president because some watermelon seller set himself on fire after being femdommed by a cop, and the other Arabs did the same. And now Iranians are trying to rise up because some thot got killed by uppity cops. So they clearly have the conviction and courage the Russians do not. Perhaps it's the way that Russia, and China's middle class, have enough developed world prosperity to be complacent and passive against autocracy. Except for all the Russian minorities who are dirt-poor and still putting up with it.

Based tbh, better than the US draft which only sent working-class whites

The level of drafted troops was something like 1/3rd. Clearly not an insignificant number given morale and discipline issues but vietnam has a lot of mythological baggage associated with it.

we have all reason to be angry at warcrimes.
don't forget however than most of them happened not intentionally (like say in Armenia-azerbaidjan)

But mostly because the Russian army just left a bunch of low IQ (average grunt) without any NCO or officier to guid them, in a shitty war with only alcool at their disposal.
if warcrimes happened during the Iraq wars (which were way more framed by the military institution) what did could we expect here ?

                my point is :
in Irak, some us soldier managed to rape a kid and kill her entire family, all while being from : a country far more democratic, far more educated and in an army far more framed than the Russian army.

warcrimes happened, usually because someone is stupid enough to do some stupid shit and the institution, at this moment, fail to prevent them.

warcrime in Ukraine were to be expected when you see the shitty gestion of the Russian army.

this shit just shows that it's a deliberate systemic failure. They do nothing to punish it while both creating the situation (letting grunts run loose on occupied territory, often requiring them to loot by not provisioning them) and actively celebrating war crimes (state media cheering attacks on civilian targets). It's almost like there's an unstated understanding in Russia that when you take a place your soldiers get to pillage, rape and torture the populace without repercussion.

To really make Russia get on its knees, you need to make sure thousands of people from Moscow and St. Petersburg are getting turned into fine red mist on the Ukrainian Front.

I guess that happens when your comfy home in Moscow/St. Petersburg sees men coming back home with no legs and arms...if they come home at all.

As much as I'd like to agree, and I did agree when the war started, I've started seeing a lot of Ukrainian personal accounts of how they were treated in the Eastern regions by Russians moving in, translated forum posts from popular Russian sites and all that. Russians genuinely despise Ukrainians and view them as subhuman and it's not exactly an unpopular sentiment. They hate Ukrainians as much as Americans hated Middle Eastern people in 2001.

Russians are very brainwashed and many of these people actually believe that Ukraine, which is basically to Russia what Canada is to America, are Nazis.
It's like how you have evil people in America who think Canada is evil, but on a much wider scale.

You're not bad for feeling that way, even not understanding that.
You have a limited amount of empathy you can give out. You can't spend all day every day feeling sorry for everyone else in the world. As long as you empathize with people who deserve it, especially those close to you and a part of your life, nothing is wrong with you.

Imperial guards have way better life expectancy tbh. Pretty sure they recieve better training, equipment and supplies as well. Also their officers have better integrity. Say what you will of Commissars, but they aren't likely to sell off your land raiders to the Tau for spare change.

      >He was conscripted on September 23, sent into combat on October 7, and killed on October 13.
You missed the first bit. That's incredible, they actually gave him the promised two weeks of training before sending him off to die.

There were lots of reports of people being conscripted, shipped directly to the front lines, and being killed or captured in less than a week -- zero training, just enough time to hand the guys a partial uniform and transport them to the front.

There's a suHispanicion that some of those stories are lies on the part of the POWs, ie lying to come across better than if they admit to having fought and killed your friends for the last however many months.

Sadly, not so much. If Putin's clients regain control in November, they've said unequivocally they're going to suck his dick as soon as they can get on their knees for him. At that point, international assistance will dry up for the most part, and sanctions will slowly be lifted behind the scenes, or violations of the sanctions will not be punished.

From that point, Russia will be able to keep Crimea, and now has a bunch of drags on its economy gone. There's a reason they didn't draft Muscovites / St. Petersburgers. They were depopulating their less productive or economically draining oblasts. Sure, there are still women and children there, but that's never been a problem for Russia, if the horror shows coming out of occupied Ukie territory are any indication. They can either ship them off to become sex slaves, or just starve them to death and blame the West.

It's disgusting and demonically evil, but if Russia's 5th columnists can manage to sway the US response, Putin can survive this. Don't forget, he still has one of the highest domestic approval ratings in the world. Yes, it's because the people who say they don't approve get shot in the back of the head, but don't underestimate how brainwashed the last three generations of Russians are.

That got dug up during some sanitary system work. In their infinite wisdom, the Germans built their big military cemetery for heroes fallen in the invasion of Poland on newly annexed territory which returned to Poland after the war, some 15 miles from Auschwitz, in a town with a large pre-war gnomish population. They also demolished local gnomish and Polish cemeteries and used the tombstones to reinforce the riverside. The German military cemetery got demolished after the war and the Poles are STILL refusing to let Germans move the bodies. There's now a camping site and paring lot over them, and most of the tombstones were likely reused in the foundations of local houses.

Not remotely true. People who went to college were exempted, which happened to be mostly whites at the time. That combined with the draft in general was why the Vietnam War was so unpopular among college students and young people.

I’ve been reading comments on russian slashdot-like website for developers, and despite the officially declared exemptions, there’s no bureaucratic exchange of information between the military and the ministry for digitalization. Moreover, this whole exemption service is a honeypot for complete idiots to submit their personal info and let the state know their recent location for easier delivery of draft notices

First of all, these are not "Republican" proposals. These come from the part of the party that was well-known as Russian stooges as far back as the 2000s. Just because these people are gradually taking over and hollowing out the party doesn't make them Republicans.
Second of all, they have a history of killing US reforms, military programs, procurement and even anti-corruption measures with their "accounting".

feint a retreat draw the Ukrainians right next to the Russian Border. Make a public statement warning the Ukrainians not to invade Russian land. Test a nuke in the middle of the Ocean so that Russia shows the world that the USA cannot control Ocean Trade and enforce the Petro Dollar. Then reinvade Ukraine and launch a a few tactical nukes to create a nuclear border for the land that will belong to Russia.

But what's going to be Russia's trigger for collapse, if the SMO was past the point but not the trigger itself? Seems like it would have happened by now.

Anons, can you tell me something, in the rest of the world, schools are named after famous people, for example, my old high school was called Julius Caesar (Italian), why does Russia (as i see in this thread) have numbered schools like the soviets? Were they lying when they said Russia was democratic? Hmmm.

It must suck for these guys. Russia is using Ukraine to do to kill off their minorities. That he's actually valuable and educated is a bonus.

      >Judging by his name he was an ethnic Tatar and not a Russian, therefore disposable cannon fodder.
The name Timur Izmailov could be literally any Muslim-majority ethnic group, Tatar comparatively less so. The name Timur is even more common in the North Caucasus.

All ethnic groups displaced by the sovjets? Muh Wolga germans and prussia.
      >t. German

      >All ethnic groups displaced by the sovjets? Muh Wolga germans and prussia.
Volga Germans at least weren't genocided like many other groups were by the Russian Empire and the USSR (Circassians, Abazin, Ubykh, Arshtin, Crimean Tatars, Budjak Tatars, Volga Tatars, Kazakhs, Ahiska Turks, etc). The Germans originally came in as part of the Russian Empire's ethnic replacement campaigns between the 1700s and 1800s along the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea/Volga Delta.

It's not about killing the minorities on purpose, more like using the poorest peripheral population, which just happen to be ethnic minorities
besides tatars in Russia can barley be considered a minority

Russian conscripts are disproportionately ethnic minorities, and many are even foreign nationals! That shooting on Russian volunteers a few days ago was by Tajikistan nationals who should have never been forced to fight Russia's war.

The USSR sent disproportionate amount of minorities into battle in Afghanistan as well, even more so in the early years of the war.

    >There's milions of Americans who ONLY trust Tucker Carlson and people who are more extremist Russian agents than he is. Millions of Americans who consider the rest of Fox News to all be left wing globohomo.
Canadians are actually retarded enough to believe this. Literally proving my point.

Some American truckers literally INVADED Canada to """protest""" in a country they don't even live in.
That's the power of Russia's propaganda and disinfo in foreign countries. It's even more effective in their own country.

So? Some Canadians had BLM protests.

And we weren't burning down your cities, we were supporting the millions of your own fellow Canadians who were demanding an end to Turdeau's insane fascist vaccine restrictions.
