I got my first job in one of those. Just went in and asked, and they hired me to work on Saturdays since I was still in high school.
First Saturday it rained.
Second Saturday it rained.
Third Saturday no work because someone had burned down one of the buildings (it was a low-income housing project right next to my lower-middle class neighborhood).
by then I had a real job in a grocery store, and never worked one hour in my first job. so they finished the housing project, and within a year a teen had walked out of it and shot to death the first girl he saw. You got used to people barreling out of there at 60 mph and winding up in someone's front yard. Within 5 years all the old residents had abandoned the neighborhood.

also the foreman is probably snorting $400/day worth of blow off his desk.
