Supposedly they're active in Marinka right now and have progressed one street in about 2 weeks

They're barrier troops now, helping encourage any lesser motivated mobiks
But as pointed out, you occasionally see them in combat

This, they went from front lines shock troops to border patrol because of their gear being on par with SOF. The only good thing that Russian general did.

why aren't they being used as an SOF then?

Early in the war the two subsequent videos I saw of Chechens were ooga booga chanting in some woods which impressed Russian aligned propagandists, because obviously it means they are elite and then a firefight where several Chechens were shooting down the center of astraight road without concealment and one gets pinged in the leg

Imagine fighting for those that killed your fathers. What a joke of a nation.

      >Imagine fighting for those that killed your fathers. What a joke of a nation.

Not to mention torture, theft and rape. If the real Chechens ever respawn their revenge will be epic. The few fighting for Ukraine have been at it for years and appear quite enthusiastic.

There are some Chechens fighting on Ukraines side for that reason. A lot of them despise Kadyrov

It was mutual. If anything, Chechens probably tortured more. Read 'One Soldier's War', it's a great memoir by one of the soldiers who fought there.

You must be new or uninformed, bad blood between russians and chechens didn't start with the Chechen war, the history goes as far as at least 200 years ago with ethnic clensing, raids and slavery conducted by russians in the region.

I am certainly better informed about Russian history than the average anon but the initial post lamented how Chechens can fight for those who killed their fathers so I thought we were talking about recent history.

In 1994 Russia turned up in Chechnya and began raping and torturing their way through the country, it's not a shock that by 1996 the Chechens were returning the favour.

Didn't a ton of 'real chechens' join isis in Syria? They were supposedly feared by pretty much everyone, which is why putin was expecting everyone to shit their pants when he sent his own dollar store chechens.

There was also a bunch of them in Afghanistan. Actually managed to get depictions in mass media back then as well.

There were actually only a handful of Chechens in Afghanistan. It was just a weird modern version of the Tiger effect. The Afghans are incompetent so any enemy grouping who who stood their ground and actually showed skill were presumed to be Chechens.
The very tenuous link between Chechens and Taliban/Al Qaeda was exploited by the FSB glowBlack folk to whitewash the curbing of Chechen independence as an anti-terror op, and the US backpedaled on the sympathy to the Chechen cause.

            >Medal of Honor 2010
Wildly underrated game along with the sequel Warfighter. Multiplayer in the sequel was especially fun.
The campaign in the first was extremely kino, especially the mission where you play as a Ranger on the QRF for the SOF guys, and you've got that 249 with an Elcan on it (one of the few FPS games that dropped you into the role of an MG man). Some of the cooler renderings of optics I've seen in mainstream triple-A shooters pretty much ever, honestly. In both games, but especially MOH: Warfighter. The weapon customization was ahead of its time, in that one, too.

What I disliked about Warfighter was how it paced itself with weird sections like the driving ones and the Captain Phillips life raft sniper shot. Plus it has the unironic Tora Bora panic where the cave systems had replicas of airliner seating arrangements to practice a terror attack.

I agree with you about MoH 2010. I especially liked how the whole campaign was about a single operation from multiple points of view.
                Warfighter was utter shit though.

                >Warfighter was utter shit though.
Honestly I tried to dance around it but yeah, Warfighter's campaign was a typical MW2-clone, unfortunately. The multiplayer really was the best thing about it, by a good margin.
From MOH 2010, I can still remember cruising through the mountains in an Apache and the smooth transition between that mission and the one that starts off with you sniping Taliban with a thermal'd-out Barret, with Dusty spotting (can't believe I remember Dusty's name holy shit).
For Warfighter, I didn't even remember any real individual missions until one of you guys brought up those weird set piece missions.
As much fun as we had with it, MW2 really ruined a lot of military shooters and campaigns in the early '10s.

These are probably from the clans who betrayed the rest, so they'll be being loyal to their fathers in that case.

They where sent in two waves.

First wave was the one pro russians in pol would say would be able to kill all ukrainans and rape everyone. They whete soon dubbed the tiktok battalion because they kept posting their position on tiktol and insta, they within the 2nd day of being in Ukraine got drone striked in a military convoy.

Secomd wave of them was sent in and recently bolstered with more men. They are mostly combat ineffective as they kept wasting ammo by shooting at empty buildings and refuses to attack the ukrainans. They also fought other units for loot. At the moment tbey have currently been made a barrier troops in the east, ive seen no footage of them shooting at retreating russians so either they arent effective at doing that, havny needed to do it or my theory is after the first lot of them got blown up from stresming their positions, they have nothing to film themselves and show what they are doing

What a good choice of camoflage, interesting how it's doing its job to camoflage in woods.

Inb4. You don't need to camoflage when you are a barrier troop.
