From my days screwing with various materials making random junk with soft plastics IIRC smaller things tend to need softer materials to feel as floppy or soft as larger things - or was it the other way around, I forget. Basically if you make a live hinge fatter with the same material it'll be stiffer, for example. Or I'm totally wrong and moronic and softness (squish) doesn't work that way like it does when bending a piece of material. Just an interesting materials science sorta datapoint to keep in my head.
