Not as good as an F-22, not as pretty as a Typhoon, but seeing as how I recently came to the conclusion that I spend more time flying two Mirages and a Gazelle in DCS, I did my first aerobatics in a Cap-10 and I desperately miss the days when I used to fly around in a Reims F406, I guess I'm an accidental French plane gay so I like it.

It's fine. Competent aircraft, excellent 4th gen. As others have said, its primary failing isn't a design issue, it just doesn't have the economy of scale to be competitive. To have a really healthy niche today it would probably need to be a good 35 million dollars cheaper, which would require two or three times as many units produced.
