I am afraid of the ocean.

Have you ever been PrepHole on it? I mean way out? Shit is as scary as it gets. There is nothing but water. Nothing. Every direction you look in there is nothing but waves of water. Goes on forever, practically, and its just water. Fricking salty water too even.

You on on a tiny ass boat even if it a big boat and its all water everywhere if something went wrong what could you do? Your ass is going to be on the bottom ASAP. You can swim? Not that far bro, not even close.

I don't know anyone who is obsessed with the ocean. I think you just surround yourself with a specific type of people.

It’s because the ocean feels unknown
And we feel the need to explore

sorry anon but no. we came from the ocean maybe a billion years ago but we ARE NOT going back. literally nothing in the ocean wants us, even the water itself rejects us.

the ocean is literally completely inhospitable and it bothers me that people confuse sea breeze and sunshine as love of the ocean. we're inland creatures who thrive on land and amongst freshwater, frick the ocean and avoid with extreme prejudice

i felt extremely uncomfortable all thoughout waterworld (1995) but i do love renting out a kayak in the summer and paddling in the sea away from the shore more than in a tight river

I enjoy kayaking but to me a fast river or a lake/pond with lots of tributaries and nooks to explore is betta. The ocean is untrustworthy.

The European Man looked out on the Ocean and dreamed of Worlds unseen, and voyaged out into the unknown to find them.

I believe some refer to it as the European Faustian Man but not certain.

A massive river or lake always seems more interesting. Oceans are desolate, dirty salt hells.
