None. Civil war narative is fake. Northen elite didn't want to admit they were big dum before war and first 2 years of war. South wanted to make themselves look as nobel as possible.
Now narative is just. Two brothers. With now other way then fight. One nobel and dashing. One humanist and caring.

If the current cultural attitudes had been in effect during the 20th century, no white Southern men would have fought in WW1, WW2, or Vietnam.

Instead, the prevailing attitude for more than 100 years was that both sides were ultimately Americans and that the losing side should be allowed to honor their dead and their heritage. Many people outside the South even thought that Confederate stuff was cool. 40 years ago, you could've flown a Confederate flag anywhere from California to Maine and almost no one have given it a second thought.

There was a slight shift toward erasure of Confederate history and Southern identity in the late '90s, but it didn't get serious until 2015 in the wake of the Dylan Roof thing. By this point, social media was in existence and the mass conditioning was well underway.

If you look at the idea of destroying or removing Confederate monuments, no one even thought about it until about 2015, intensifying in 2017 after Charlottesville and even more so in 2020 after George Floyd's death. Current attitudes and trends like "Sherman posters" are shaped entirely by post-2015 social-media conditioning.

Sherman posters are funny because you can just tell them you liked when he did the same thing in the Indian Wars. If you're gonna celebrate total war you'll have to be okay with a little genocide.

Indeed and do remind them how slaves fought Sherman's forces in Atlanta because he was torching their home too.

Why do you think the US military is running out of recruits? Turns out that if you make it your mission to shit on a group of people they won't fight and die for you, who would have thought?

So? What that has to do with anything I said? Narative how things went down is fake. It has little to do with southern identity.
More with how Northen elite whitewashed how utterly idiotic they were.

Imagine how big of a shithole the confederate states of America woulda been had they won and technology made slavery obsolete in 10 years. Imagine the poverty, today, had that country been allowed to exist. 4 or 5 agrarian families would be wealthy trillionaires and the rest of the country would be starving

South couldn't have won. Difference between manpower and industrial capacity was too big. At best they would have broken off from US.
How things went. They could have had slavery for turn of century easily. Lincoln was really really careful. Even if masses wanted him to put end to slavery. He was willing to take baby steppes. South jumped gun and forced matter. If South had sat down after first battle of bull run. They probably could have sweetheart deal. Ensuring slavery to keep on going. Then just to slowing procces and stalling.
As for how viable it would have been. Value of one slave was sky rocketing at time. Mainly because cottongin. Technology made slaves more profitable. New technology would have just kept on that path. It would have been slaves running those machines.

That was the goal, to break off from the US and that's what that anon is saying, the Confederate states of america would be have been in a sorry state come the turn of the century. Slavery does afford a lot of capabilities, as we know throwing human suffering at challenges tends to complete them. The telegraph, the telephone, the zipper, lightbulbs and and so. The richest cities in the south were quick to integrate these technologies thanks to federal funding. The Confederacy needed to be funded entirely on it's own economy. They didn't have any deals with any nations and effectively just inflated their own economy by printing money. Unless the south made huge leaps in commodities and trade AND the land/business owners paid some 30 to 50% to even 70% in taxes, the Confederacy would have been a 3rd world nation by the 1900's.

One of the greatest tyrants to ever sit in the oval office.
      Constitutional Monarch more or less.
-Jailed an entire state legislature (in the NORTH!)
      -Suspended habeas corpus
      -Shut down ~200 anti-Lincoln newspapers
-Jailed a Supreme Court Justice for saying he violated the Constitution

I mean, his monument has him on a fricking THRONE.

The difference between then and now is a permission slip. Back then they were mandated by threat of hanging to kill each other because northern wage slaves and poorgay southern farmers had no material interests in killing each other over the legal status of Black folk. If the government said it was ok to go out and hunt chuds/antifa/whoever and they wouldn't punish you for it you would have Spanish civil war on giga steroids levels of violence.
