What are some personal?

What are some personal PrepHole projects you would build if you inherited or were gifted a few acre of land and some money (say $10k) to waste?
Some ideas:
- solar energy stuff (PV, heating, concentrating solar, ...)
- big ass paintball arena
- lab/garage for modding stuff
Assume no plants will grow there.

Wtf? Why? Why does everyone seem to think "big land = farms"?

$10k is nice but won't go far. Try $500k and we'll have fun.

I'm older and my main regret is not having an enormous building with separate walled off sections for everything I've played with in my life and abandoned for lack of space. Pottery, room full of aquariums, terrariums, car restoration/maintenance, spray booth, machine shop, wood shop, home theater, home gym, pool, the list is long. Hell, I probably blew through my $500k more than once already.

AND A NICE GREENHOUSE WHO THE FRICK HATES PLANTS YOU CRETIN.

Adding to the above, aquaponics doesn't even need farm-able land.

      >Pottery, room full of aquariums, terrariums, car restoration/maintenance, spray booth, machine shop, wood shop, home theater, home gym, pool, the list is long.

??? The items in that list doesn't seem too expensive, except the cars.

I bought the acreage and have the money because I'm a man. I built workshop space. Life is good.

It isn't over time. Terrariums etc are screensavers with extra steps and I will never be that bored. I collect classic motorbikes but wrench first and neither cars nor bikes is hard to pay for. I'm poor and don't gross over $70K but I'm debt free so half that is discretionary. Wrenching and DIY are glorious.

Well, I'm a (now middle class, used to be poor) 3rd worlder, and someone is offering 10 acre of hillside land for 60% of what I have managed to save after working in tech for 8 years.
I love learning technical stuff and I'm looking for interesting ideas to see if buying this land is a good or bad idea (both in the PrepHole and the economic senses)
The land is located some 4km away from the beach in a semi-rural gated community. The hillside faces the north, so solar stuff is a possibility. But that shit would only be possible at a small scale cuz I don't have much money to fill a single acre of land with PV panels. Like, not even close. And I'm not sure the zoning would allow it anyway.
I'd love to have this land, though.

Land is isolation and freedom. Agricultural employment decreases with civilization because it's dreary backbreaking work only thought romantic by hipsters.

Would buy a portable sawmill, my bro in law works for a logging outfit and the number of cedar trees alone that they just knock down and leave to rot is sickening.

Definitely a garage of sorts because storage is never wasted, maybe a big barn or Quonset hut kind of structure. If it’s not useful for you, you can always rent it out until you find a better use (as a garage or like a storage unit kind of thing).

Personally I would build the biggest shed/greenhouse combination I could get for that money, farm some sweet crops, and do some woodworking

    Also build an enduro trail

If you live in a rich area and don't mind managing it, then some sort of outdoor sports arena could work, either paintball or dirt bike trails or whatever other shit is popular where you live.
    >3rd world
    I guess not then.
PV isn't bad, but isn't good either, especially if you're poor. Managing the permits and finances for a commercial PV installation isn't worth it if you're only putting in a couple dozen kWp. Everything interesting would probably require more money. Land is not terrible for just maintaining value so if you want to buy it, buy it.

Not all of the 3td world is poor, we do paintball here. Also a dirt bike trail sounds good

      >10k$
bro, that ain't money even where i live (Bulgaria)
few acres of land is basically less than that, like way less than that

      >few acres of land is basically less than that, like way less than that
Seriously? Fricking hell, how can land in my shithole of a country (chile) be more expensive than land in Europe?

I would build a ziggurat as my family tomb and dope the walls with radioactive ores so anytime who wants to remove it basically turns the place into a Superfund site

      >ziggurat
      Lol

highly depends on the location, but land outside of the big cities costs peanuts here
even land with a house on it in villages costs peanuts
10k$ however will build you nothing

Maybe I should move to Bulgaria. Is your country full? Do you hate sudacas? I promise I am a quiet, reserved guy (unless I get tired of your shit, but I might learn to deal with people in better ways if I were to live in a more civilized county).
Also I'm "white" (compared to most people here anyway...)

Start with a couple of shipping containers. Is there power there? That'll probably suck up your 10k quickly getting power there
    if it isn't already.

Ok, but, what would the shipping containers be for? What would you build if the land was actually 10 acres and you had more money to waste?

        >Ok, but, what would the shipping containers be for? What would you build if the land was actually 10 acres and you had more money to waste?

Shipping containers would be the start of a shop. If you had more money finish the shop and fully outfit it. Concrete, power, wiring, plumbing for air and water would eat up more money easily and quickly. Once all that is in place fill it with tools and equipment.

Or spend some money on heavy equipment and do property maintenance and develop the land for whatever else you want to do.

Why'd you need 2 containers? A big one is more than enough and they cost like 3k in my country
But again, assume you have/are given more money and the land is useless for farming...

I want to do PV, but I'm slowly realizing that it's expensive af, so, not convenient or even possible for me.

Will be torn apart, stolen, and sold for scrap within days be illegal mexicans or tweakers.

Unless you live there, have someone there 24/7, dogs, cameras, etc, you're just storing up shit for the local drug fiends to steal.

Authorities don't care & won't investigate such thefts, but on the bright side they won't investigate any missing tweakers, abandoned vehicles, or tweakers/beaners who show up at hospitals with one hand each hammered, burned, missing fingers, etc.

Live range (assuming you're a freedom loving fat c**t mutt-merican or chad Canadian)

    FPV drone circuit

Tunnels. Everyone wants tunnels. Or bury a shipping container and set up a bunker.

Astronomy / Astrophotography. You can get a good set up for $1000 including camera. Assuming it's remote away from cities.

Personal car junkyard. Otherwise sell the land because there is no point in having it if it isnt attached to my house.
