Rommel developed infiltration assault tactics against trenches in WW1 about 100 years before Wagner tried it in Ukraine bro.

Incorrect. That was Caslow and Willy Rohr. Developed and experimented with in 1915, saw more widespread use at Verdun in 1916, reached its ultimate peak with the Kaiserschlacht in 1918.

Ghoti = Foch would have made much more sense, although it makes it less memeable.

I will attempt a translation from vatnik doublethink newspeak.

Ukraine now uses normal infantry assault tactics after determining that Russian defensive lines are too deep to rapidly penetrate with mechanized assault.

Russian lines are critically undermanned, not mobile and rely heavily on artillery and mines to slow down ukrainian advances.

Russian troops abandon their positions when attacked, and rely on artillery strikes on their abandoned positions to hopefully cause losses to the advancing Ukrainians.

Trading space for tiem will obviously only work for so long, 2 weeks somethign something, artillery amo is runnign low and Ukrainian counterbattery is fricking murderous.

We finish with the usual boastful lie about killing all the Ukrainians three times over.
Obviously, offensive operations do cause Ukrainian casualties, but the Russian overclaims are somewhere between ridiculous and just plain fantasy.

Did I get that about right?

Learn to read biased sources. This is a Vatnik in clear panic mode, which they wouldn't be if the war was going swimmingly. Suddenly the Vatniks care about manpower losses? It means they CAN'T handle those kind of losses.

This is probably the correct reading.

My fear is that they are using Wagner style suicide attacks, which I HOPE is not the case. The term is "sapping" btw. The Vietcong and North Vietamese used it all the time against the Americans.

You mean the artillery that is getting constantly sniped by HIMARS now that they have shit like Storm Shadows to do that long range job it was used for?

yes, that's the clear strategy. They know Russian Artillery is the main strength, and the main thing keeping the war WW1.5. Thus destruction of artillery is their top priority. If they have an artillery collapse, then the lines will break.

Honestly, I think this is a decent outcome. It's working on eighty years since they were decolonized, and they're just now starting to develop into a functioning state.

What they should have done is bar immigration to Britain, seems like it's been a blight over there.

The only thing India has done as a "functioning state" is turn around and bite the hand that fed. Russia, China, and India are all cut from the same cloth. In response to being abused by others, they imagine themselves the abuser and long for the day for their petty revenge.
