Waterproofing and rustproofing
Hey reddit, wondering what are the absolute best things you can do to waterproof and rustproof? I'm doing modifications to my van and I want to avoid rust and leaking at all costs. I'm going to do waterproof sealants and rustproof sprays, and even find some gorilla all weather tape. But is there anything else I should use? This van's my baby and my home so I have to make it tighter than aoc's butthole.
>I have to make it tighter than aoc's butthole.
Is this place being overrun by 12 year old virgins.
Yes. But I think she would have had a very tight butthole until getting blown out by her white bfs
>I think
She's a very uptight person. She'd be clenching her pelvic floor literally any time she sees a republican.
>only underage virgins make bad crude jokes
t. 19 and got a blowjob one time
Cool story. We don't care.
>passive aggressive nonchalance
How "adult". Go get my bucket, help Black person.

Hijacking this thread: all aluminum box truck except very rusty steel frame. Can I just take an angle grinder to it little by little when I have free time and coat the bare metal as I go or is there a better option?
yes you can, and use galvanizing primer. otherwise whatever shitty paint you put on there is just gonna flake off and it's gonna start rusting away again.
this is the sort of thing I'm talking about and of course depending on your country there will be different brands yada yada
Thanks, I'll look into that.
I don't know if you're talking to OP or me, but the box truck frame doesn't have any serious problems. It's just got a solid layer of rust and I don't want it to get worse.
> box truck frame rust
POR 15 and whatever prep & primer goes with it
> hey gayot
sorry you lost me there.
slap some of this b***h on the frame and you're good
>no need to remove
Um, tf? So will it work better if I remove the rust first or is this for morons?
I mean, it's kind of a meme and the most budget option out there, and it doesn't matter much if you remove rust or not beforehand, it's a rust sealant.
So now for real. If your frame is really rusty, chances are high that it's already damaged, needs repair and you're driving a ticking time bomb, and no, an angle grinder + paint are not going to help. You shouldn't have bought a van with a fricked up frame in the first place, rookie mistake.
Check the frame if there's some serious damage. If there is, you're fricked and you'll need to remove the frame from the body and fix it. You won't be able to do it yourself unless you have tons of equipment. If the frame is highly damaged, just buy a new one and don't bother reviving it. If it has some damage but looks worth repairing, get an angle grinder, get the rust off, cut off the really rusted parts and weld new ones, there are tons of tutorials on YouTube. Then take the frame to a galvanizer and paint it with chassis paint and you're ready to put the body back on.
Nah, no rust. I just need to cut some holes for ventillation and so I need to do whatever to prevent water seeping in and getting stuck in places.
U need to galvanize it. Take it to a place that does that, its not something you can DIY
