One of the most unamerican films I've ever watched. The advocation of pacifism in the face of tyranny is cowardice. Not only should you rebel against one, but it is your moral obligation at a human being to do so.
not that far of a reach tbqh. there's a lot of conservatives in California and a lot of liberals in texas. Texas isn't even that red it's within 5-7 percentage points of being flipped
>Ignoring the nonsense politics
It's a movie about an American civil war in 2024. There's no way to ignore the politics. >Is it a good movie on its own merits? Or is it just kinda whatever
It sucked. The movie is contrived, the main character gets everyone killed through stupidity and the cinematography just tries to copy Come and See.
It's fine, there's almost no mention of politics.

You didn't watch the movie poltard.
I believe this is what the left refers to as "media illiteracy" >This anti-war perspective is what drives Garland. The director recommended the cast of Civil War watch Come and See, a Russian drama about the German invasion in World War II. He believes that “there just aren’t very many anti-war films” and this one is “worth watching.” Garland was also inspired by Apocalypse Now, but he recognizes that it has a touch of romanticism, with music and images that distract from the anti-war message.
Being inspired by a movie doesn't mean it copied the cinematography, dumbass. There's a lot of ways to be inspired by things that don't result in direct copying.
Are you moronic? Civil War has a bunch of front profile shots which is what Come and See is known for. Read a book.

I don't think the front profile shots are used remotely to the same degree that they are in Come and See and the only one that really comes to mind is Callie on the ground immediately after Lee dies. Is there any other influence you noticed or is that it?

It literally has a similar theme. You need to watch the movie again.

We're talking about cinematography and visuals, not the theme

also I think this might be a situation where you just saw come and see or it's one of the few real movies you've seen so you just see similarities in everything

You're just ignoring every sign. The visuals clearly took inspiration from it and even the director admits this. Why are you dying on this hill?

There is nothing specifically American about this film. It could have been set anywhere, just replace the last 30 minutes with any random nation's capitol.
I like Civil War, it was pretty good, RDJ took the character to a whole new level, and who could forget when they brought in Spider-Man, so fricking good
Nah I don't like Captain America.
He’s Blacktain America now
I'm even less inclined to watch it now
>journalists are the good guys
Sorry, I don't watch fantasy.
I've stopped going to the cinema because I'm scared of getting bedbugs.
It's only available in CAM footage por momento, anon
I mean you should it’s pretty good

How in the frick did you get that idea from watching the movie?
It was surprisingly good
Garland wants me to surrender to tyrants because war kills people.
The movie can best be summarized as "anyone who fights in war is a horrible monster, remember to thank a photojournalist".
>Texas
>allying with California
Going to be the funniest comedy of the year. Screenshot this.
It already came out doofus
Shame I'll never know.
Maybe on planet moron
