Yeah it's nice, I counted them while you were grocery shopping. Whatever you made with the garlic the other day smelled divine.

Legit though even new manufactured ammo is only rated for like 15-20 years shelf life. My black talons 🙁

You are a fricking stupid idiot. How old do you think the fricking spam cans the taliban has in fricking caves is? They have tons of shit that was captured from when the russians were there fighting them and the u.s. was training osama. Do you know why theyre in fricking spam cans and not little cardboard boxes like your shit, do you know why some bullets are sealed at the neck and primer with laquer? Shut the frick up.

I think half of these seething replies are from teenagers who probably only shot their daddies 870 once

          >inb4 bullshit Seymour Hersch article.
Bin Laden didn't need training or money from the US, he had his own money pipeline from his saudi relations and friends.

Semi related, where do you get new seals for a decent price, or even at all? I have an old 30-06 M2 AP ammo can I bought (empty) which I used to store my .22lr in. Didn't notice until recently that the seal was rock hard and I chipped it like a dummy.

When stockpiling ammo - do you have to worry about like static electricity or house fires or anything?

Like are there local fire codes saying “don’t fill an entire room full of ammo” and/ simple rules of thumb like “don’t put your ammo in your garage next to cars / power tools”

      Anonymous

Static electricity not really, fire definitely to have a plan to either evacuate the ammo fast, ( throwing the cans out the window or some shit)

for fires I was under the assumption that they don't really have "full" power when they cook off, or do they?

Loose ammo or rounds in standard boxes doesn't pose a threat to you. Yes a popping case could nail you in the eye but remember that if that's happening your entire house is also majorly on fire and you're either being grilled or asphyxiated if you're in the same room as ammo that's been heated to the point of cooking off.
Ammo packed up in those big green cans does actually risk all cooking off together and blowing the can itself under pressure, that wouldn't be so good to be near. Again though, if your ammo is being set off through the can it's been so hot for so long that you can't have been in the building and remained alive anyway so maybe just give the firefighters a heads up when they go in.
