hey there, I have a dream, a dream to redesign everything in my life to be as optimal and efficient as possible.
I heard the most efficient freezer fridge combo design is one that puts the freezer on top. The most efficient freezer design is a chest freezer that opens up top. From this I think the most optimal design for a freezer+fridge combo for a single person (so it can be small and counter height), would be to put a top opening freezer on top a fridge compartment.
my goal is to have something like this fit under a counter, and pull it out to access the freezer, and have minimal space for a fridge drawer or something like that on bottom. does such a thing exist? and if not how can I make my dream a reality? Can I make my own freezer+fridge? I haven't found anything like this on market. Most are marketed towards multi person households, they have smaller freezers and the fridge compartment to the side or even top. I don't need much fridge space, I just use the fridge to defrost meat and a few small products, I barely use the fridge portion but I do still need a little so just a chest freezer alone wont work. I don't see why the whole unit couldn't be counter height and dedicate more space to the freezer than the fridge portion
Ok, we'll get around to the freezer. Did you know the most efficient way to climb stairs is on your hands and feet?
you act like I don't already do that? but that's only going up. To go down I use my towel to slide down, like a sled. get on my level!
while you were getting out your towel, BanisterChads are already chilling at the bottom. Learn to slide like a man, towelgay
not every railing can support the weight of a full grown Chad. Not every stair has a railing. My solution is scalable and universal. Also the towel is useful for multiple purposes and it keeps my clothes clean while you're getting everyone's germs on your ass. But you're probably used to getting everyone's germs on your ass so naturally that wouldn't occur to you
>not wearing the towel as his only piece of clothing
I guess you don't love efficiency like me and OP
people would be frightened of the lovecraftian horror I wield below my belt, some clothing is necessary
Imagine dealing with this nonsense instead of realizing that falling down the stairs is superior
>dont have to stabilize your body in any way
>gravity LITERALLY takes care of the entire process
Get your potential energy investment back with the optimal down-the-stairs strategy
>he uses calories to heal body injuries
I’m sorry anon but if you knew a single thing about optimization you’d never live in a house with stairs in the first place, or any sharp edges for that matter
I just roll down the stairs.
Very painful however.
>From this I think the most optimal design for a freezer+fridge combo for a single person (so it can be small and counter height), would be to put a top opening freezer on top a fridge compartment.
Based moron
The real answer is to just get a freezer fridge combo with the freezer on top and then a separate chest freezer for deep storage. Trying to DIY a freezer is going to end up a lot more expensive and not as energy efficient.
I don't want two of the things adding $30 a month to my electric bill each, It makes more sense to have just one. More space efficient too
Unless you're buying a freezer from the 1960s its not going to use "$30 a month in electricity". Modern chest freezers use about 1.5kWh per 24 hours once they're filled and down to temp. Thats about $4-$5 a month in electricity. Or you can be a moronic homosexual and spend $1300 trying to "build" a "custom unit" to save 20 cents a month on electricity. Stupid fricking thread.
>kWh per hr
kek
what's funnier, his comment about "cost per day", or your misunderstanding of the terms?
>1.5kWh per 24 hours
a more efficent way of saying this is that it uses 60 watts.
which isn't even true a modern freezer that uses on average 30 watts (half) is now 'E' rated on energy scale.
>I don't want two of the things adding $30 a month to my electric bill each
Don't be so overdramatic anon, $30 a month is more than my entire electric bill and I do have an inefficiant half empty full sized fridge-freezer combination just for the freezer part.
This. Get a second hand tiny one for almost free but only use it when a plastic container on the porch isn't enough anymore and you absolutely have to store things.
You could also move near to a 24/7 convenience store so you won't ever need one.
>I heard the most efficient freezer fridge combo design is one that puts the freezer on top
no? who the frick told you that
Ain’t reading that blog. As the title goes whichever freezer you choose, be sure to fill it. That’ll be the most efficient.
sus. Why do you want to be so efficient. do you feel like you don't deserve to impose on the world and hope to justify your existance by having a slightly smaller energy bill. that's kind of cringe
>optimal and efficient as possible
If you stay in bed all day, your caloric requirements will also be very low.
Why, you could probable sustain yourself by consuming crickets and crops grown in your own waste.
Just put all that stuff near the window while you live in darkness all the time. Visual stimuli only drive the mind. It's inefficient.
Yyour piss and sweat are 98% reprocessable.
I apprhoove
The most energy efficient refrigerator and freezer is no refrigerator and freezer. You don't need them, you can sustain yourself on food that does not require refrigeration.
>top opening chest-style freezer that's installed underneath a countertop
This is absolutely fricking moronic.
>This is absolutely fricking moronic.
welcome to PrepHole
Literally just get a standard fridge/freezer, and make an effort to open it as little as possible. Also, keep it relatively full to add thermal mass, so it doesn't have to cycle as often.
The energy bill will come out to something like $6/month.
>I heard the most efficient freezer fridge combo design is one that puts the freezer on top.
You are correct.
my goal is to have something like this fit under a counter, and pull it out to access the freezer, and have minimal space for a fridge drawer or something like that on bottom. does such a thing exist?
Just buy a mini fridge with a top freezer. Having to pull out a chest freezer every time you want to use it sounds like hell.
why buy a freezer at all? just buy a refrigerator
there's nothing worth freezing for more than 15 days and a refrigerator is more than enough for that
fighter jets just dump their fuel before landing sometimes hundreds of tons of jetfuel at once, there are natural gas fields that are just permanently on fire, theres probably much worse, your entire lifetime of energy efficiency is wiped out every nanosecond by people who dont give a frick
Only Gripen can still do that of new production aircraft. Everything else that could is long out of service (F-111, F-14 except for Iran, A-5) so basically nothing any more.
Tell us you know nothing of aviation without telling us you know nothing of aviation. Dumping is an emergency measure not a routine measure because fuel was always expensive.
Also note not of those aircraft dumped or carried "hundreds of tons" of fuel.
