Wagner will be replaced by an archipelago of private military contractors.
What are they called? Will they have specialties or will they compete for the exact same kind of business?

They'll be used for protecting their oligarch founders, supplementing russian military, and maybe foreign conflicts . I doubt there'll be another Wagner-quality one any time soon though. This interview with Prigo last month is interesting
>“People who have money now think that forming a PMC is a great idea, so they’ve started to multiply. There’s the Gazprom PMC, [billionaire Andrey] Bokarev’s PMC, and Redut — one after another,” said the Wagner founder. In the interview, Prigozhin also said that fighters with other PMCs were sent to cover the flanks of the Wagner Group’s advance on Bakhmut. The other groups reportedly had to abandon their positions because of poor training and supplies and a lack of “tactical-level commanders.” Prigozhin added that the founders of the other PMCs “report to the Kremlin” and that their fighters are very well paid.
Everything he ever said is scripted by the kremlin. Never believe ANYTHING a Russian says including this murderous frick
PMC Redut is older than Wagner...
He was last seen welcoming this RU army general that joined Wagner a few months ago in Ukraine.
Supposedly uncle Priggy ratted out his position to Ukraine too, hence the hit.

There are a lot of PMCs in Russia. Even large private and state-owned companies have PMCs they're affiliated with.
Gazprom alone apparently has formed three PMCs—namely Fakel (Torch), Potok (Torrent) and Plamya (Flame)—who were then handed over to a bigger PMC called Redut (Redoubt) and forced to fight in Bakhmut.

Sergei Shoigu is directly affiliated with the Patriot PMC.

PMCs are technically illegal in Russia but became de-facto legal in 2014 following the Russian annexation of Crimea. From what I can tell it all originates from a Hong Kong-based PMC called the Slavonic Corps.
This Hong Kong-based PMC was owned by Russian nationals but had no relation to the Russian government and went into Syria in 2013 to guard oil sites. They got caught up in the war, were poorly armed, and members wanted to return home but were forced to fight in support of Assad.
Upon returning to Russia they were detained by Russian authorities. The next year the owners were also arrested and convicted in late 2014. One of the guys that was involved with Slavonic Corps as a contractor that returned in late 2013 went on to co-found Wagner PMC with financing from Yevgeny Prigozhin.
In addition to the UAE hiring Wagner PMC to operate in Libya and Sudan. It has also hired Patriot PMC to operate in Yemen, likely in support of the Southern separatist forces that the UAE backs.
Russian state documents have confirmed Russian PMCs as operating in Yemen as part of lobbying efforts to formally legalize PMCs in Russia citing their numerous places of business.

Yeah, if Shoigu was removed from his position, what exactly is stopping his personal PMC from marching on Moscow to reinstate him?
I don't think he'd care that much. He'd just work as a private contractor.
After the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos was removed from his position, he took the helms of a PMC too.

>inb4 he leads the PMC himself just as well he did Roscosmos

Surovkin is un Lefortovo?
Oh yeah a group of small islands will replace wagner....
Jesus. Hawaii, Indonesia, maybe even Iwo jima.
No, they're being replaced by the RU military, one of the big issues with Priggy and the Wagner commanders is that the Ministry of Defense ordered all PMCs (all illegal by the way) to be annexed into the RU military by July 1st. Now Pringles and Wagner ran off to Belarus so they'll be the only ones left.
Shoigu is gonna axe his own pmc?
