I wonder if this will be a piston gun, or just another blowback piece of trash, having a 9mm piston gun (even if it's long stroke instead of short stroke) on the amrket other than the mpx would be pretty based

        Anonymous

The matador arms 9mm upper has them beat already if it's blowback but with the ar18 action.

          Anonymous

The ar 18 action is short-stroke, which isn't blowback, I assume you mean an ar-18 styled upper not action. it would go with their ar-15 and AK- style blowback 9mm's, but would be kind of silly for it

I meant more about the bolt design and the spring within the upper assembly.

              Anonymous

their video from this morning says it's blowback- the spring setup with probably be ar-18ish, that's fair enough. the bolt is gonna be a be a non rotating big chunk cause blowback

$999 targeted MSRP, early 2025 targeted release, and binary triggers for this and the rock confirmed to be in development as well makes this the star of shot show for me by an extremely long mile

.308 Jakl from PSA would be moronic
BUT, there aren't any real piston .308 options at that price range at all. XCR, LMT, Bren 2 and other piston .308 start at a cool $2,400.

      why would that be moronic?

        Anonymous

        >why would that be moronic?
Because the regular jakl in wimpy 5.56 falls apart. Add a real cartridge like .308 and those screws will pop themselves out after one shot. If you took a fricking second to look at it, you'd see the Jakl is covered in screws. Screws walk out.

Jakl is covered in screws which makes it shit for serious us. That other moron that claimed his was great probably only has about 100rounds through it. I believe the owners that have put thousands of rounds testing it on youtube and a large portion of them say it falls apart. The extractor fails, the feeding fails, the gas block comes undone and various screws fall out.

Look at SCAR 17 you say has the same problem. Only two visible screws. TWO and they aren't important to the function of the gun. You need to take a pry bar and unhinge that PSA dick sucking jaw. PSA does not make quality, reliable guns. They make cool toys with short shelf life.

Yeah I heard as much in reviews. I don’t disagree.

Tbh pdw calibers are better in mp7 type guns. An appropriate barrel length for 9mm makes the gun too short and cluttered. Something like 7-10” works better so a smaller caliber with more powder behind it makes more sense. 5.7 and 4.6 are still underwhelming though, a 30 carbine necked down to whatever would be better. Possibly hybrid case. Or maybe 7.5 FK.

              Anonymous

I'm not a big fan of PDW calibers in general. 9mm would be a cheaper to shoot plinker and more practical IMO. Since it would pretty much be a cheap range toy I should just get a SP33 and put the Farrow Tech chassis on it.

When people say its an MP7 they don't mean its trying to be a direct copy, they mean its trying to fill a similar role. Which, for most of PSA's intended buyers means a sufficient stand in for the HL2 smg which was also MP7 inspired but not actually an MP7. Nobody really wants a real MP7 anyways, the ammunition is just as hard to get as the gun. You are entitled to think its a dumb buy but that wont have any effect on the market. People will buy them because they are cool and PSA will make a profit.

It does, pulled that from the poll page details they had. Would be super good to see a Genesis competitor. I'm sure they'd have to have different uppers for the shotgun.

Voted for the 5.7, .308 JAKL and the shotgun. The big jakl would probably piss off SCARgays and the shotgun is some weird amalgamation of Remington and Mossberg pumps. I'm hoping that the 5.7 is an actual gun and not just a fancy shell that the pistol drops into.

That's what I was thinking with the "570" name. Wonder what the barrel is. Voted for that and the bolt action because I'm in the market for a bolt action in the next year or so. Even if I don't buy it it'll probably improve the market and stop manufacturers from doing dumb shit like not making their guns available with threaded barrels standard (fricking RUGER and their gen 1 non-bull barrel STANAG Americans IIRC - hard to tell as a lot of the listings are gone for the gen 2). And the stocks with paper thin forends, my god. I want something cheap and upgradeable between "ultra heavy benchrest gun" and "feather light hunting rifle"; is that so hard to ask?

PSA doing a build your own bolt gun is interesting though because right now the only companies that do that charge absolutely moronic prices for it. The build your own pump shotgun is cool too because no one does that, at least not to my knowledge

That's exactly what I mean by "frick"; I was hoping it'd be higher because I'd love to be able to throw together a bolt action with the exact parts I want at PSA prices. Hopefully they don't just do the top 1/2/3 and throw the rest out. I like the shotgun but I think it's a bit ugly, though a good idea.
