Mack and Navistar tactical truck prototyping contract. The MTT replaces the marines' equivalent of the FMTV, as I understand it. So it will be used for tons of stuff. Hybrid, fording up to 5 feet. The power generation requirement hasn't increased beyond 30kW. Is that really enough for "all" mission sets anymore?

Oh, I missed the newest release. It has a cropped lil thumbnail sized photo of this:

If you need more power generation throw a generator on the back of the truck, I'm sure it can move a pretty decent-sized generator with a chassis of that size.
Does anyone know the actual plan for external power supply to newfangled SHORAD and DEW toys?
I assume just standard diesel generators, they've got a self contained transportable 60kw generator set that'll output 240/416V that should suffice for a 50kw DE-SHORAD setup.
My only objections are as follows:
Mack got bought by Volvo of all people. The global HQ building in Greensboro is up for lease. The bulldog is sitting in front of a Volvo dealership now.
Navistar is fricking garbage, everything they make is fricking garbage, everything they design is fricking garbage, and the US taxpayers are getting ripped off giving them a single fricking cent.
Wtf is this a thread about trucks?
>covered terrorism
You do realize even the prelude to 2001 there was a threat to terrorism? A few years prior the world trade center got bombed by them.
oh, I thought you were reasonably intelligent. My mistake.
Yeah I'm gonna echo what this guy said.
If your takeaway from the war is that Russian garbage is competitive you are mentally impaired.
>you aren't picking a side in slavic scuffle that you have no real ties to so you are dumb!
Grow up
liking ukraine or not has nothing to do with the phrase
>multi-million dollar NATO gizmos are being destroyed by relatively cheap Russian simple gizmos so I'm not sure what your point is
which marks you as a tard, anon
The Russia/Ukraine war will be remembered as the war of cheap drones. Everyone has seen dozens of videos of $200 drones with $10 warheads taped onto them destroying multi-million dollar equipment
>The Russia/Ukraine war will be remembered as the war of cheap drones.
Realtime war is an end of the decades-long historiographic cycle of
>grand narrative ->
>contrarian counter-narrative ->
>complicating the narrative ->
>both sides tho ->
>deboonking all narratives (#no narratives)
>mixed modeling of narratives (#all narratives)
>feminist narratives (#believe her narratives)
>etc.
All of that is now compressed down into days, weeks, months at most - among those who pay attention. So the whole academic-industrial complex of defining and gatekeeping the framing by which a conflict will be remembered is being upended at the moment. Drones will be one of the major themes, sure, but it won't be the sole focus.
>multi-million dollar NATO gizmos are being destroyed by relatively cheap Russian simple gizmos
using ww2 tech wouldn't change it
this has nothing to do with making trucks more fuel efficient
>muh repairs
>muh logistic
this doesn't matter
let me guess you are the moron who thinks logistics win wars
why won't the Army and the Marines use the same type of truck?
