I wonder how all those competition shooters from the 80s all the way until recently who can still shoot circles around you even with a stock 1911 were able to shoot without front serrations. Magic I guess.
This. Outside of not using pot metal or whatever the frick happened with the MOS plates, what's left. The barrel change, trigger, and grip were much improved. All I cannfigure is left at this point is them paying M.A.R.S. or whoever for a true ambi mag release.
Unless they are copying Sigs idea and doing the swappable frame around the pistols guts.
The barrel change was a straight downgrade wtf how is that shit an improvement? Less muzzle velocity and increased wear? Almost nobody shoots uncoated lead, and if they do, they can buy their own cucked barrels for it.
>metal sights >completely reworked trigger mechanism >extended controls >standard threaded barrel >MOS system standard >applied to all models rather than only the 9mm and .40 options
Glock knows what the aftermarket is doing and wants to get a cut of that market share. People looking to make upgrades via aftermarket will see all the things they want on the new model and opt to buy a new Glock instead.
>Glock knows what the aftermarket is doing and wants to get a cut of that market share
This is the funniest post on the board right now.
No anon, Gaston will change the rollmark from “Gen 5” to “Gen 6” and then charge you $100-$200 extra. Just like he did the last two gens.
Gen 5 was a pretty wide departure from the original design considering the parts compatibility between gens. Whether this was specifically to force people to buy new replacement parts, or for an actual upgrade, I can't say.
nah, gen 5 was an actual upgrade
and to be honest you don't need much more than gen 5 mos gun. The trigger is okay, grip too, sights are shitty but always have been and if you plan on mounting red dot you'll change them anyway.

MOS is a joke and you should be milking your slide and not using those garbage plates. Also no, there are no observable benefits to paying as much for a gen 5 over a 3. I would argue there are more benefits to getting a 3 as of late.

Frick that. I shouldn't have to make permanent physical changes to my gun to attach something that is damn near close to being the industry standard.

It isn’t
there's no upcharge between generations moron. It's still $500 retail pricing
That’s even worse. That fricks everyone except glock while providing no meaningful upgrades
You do know they sell aftermarket plates right? Youre surely not sperging because you didnt know that right
And those suck shit compared to milling, noshoots

Not him but the finger grooves were actually good on the 26, I tried a Gen 5 26 and stuck with my Gen 4 because it was easier to shoot. HOWEVER now that the 43x/48 are out the 26 is a pointless outdated piece of shit and I am glad I sold mine.
This, the only people I see shilling this are YouTubers, and they are actually paid and sponsored by Walther to do it. I've heard the gun kicks more than it should.
it's summer still, classes won't be in for another week or two depending on where you are. Most of these kids have no idea you can put things on handguns and they'll still work.
it wasnt their choice to go with a glock 19, they put all that stuff on it so it was more like a full size. it is not very different than cloning a specific rifle you like.
>how do you keep your guns so clean?
It's easy when you're not tossing it around willy nilly and just use it on a range, especially if for most of that time it lived in a bag. I only got a holster for it a few months ago. It's also moron-easy to make it look clean with just some rag passes. I've had that G19 since 2016 and God know how much ratfrick Tula it's had through it. >mine always have bits of skin on it on the serrations
Use lotion.
After you shoot it, clean the inside with wet wipes, CLP, and q-tips. Once you are done wipe down the outside with wet wipes, get in the grooves you are talking about. Then wipe down the slide, and the barrel when locked to the rear with a silicone cloth.
Do Glockgays really act like this >NOOOOOOOOO MUH HECKIN CUTOUT HURTS MY PRECIOUS HANDS >THERE'S NO SLIDE SERRATIONS FOR HIS PLEASURE >I AM GOING TO KILL MYSELF OVER FINGER GROOVES OR THE LACK THEREOF
homie it's a glock, get ahold of yourself
What improvements do you guys want for Gen 6?
For me: >Stock Night Sights >Improved trigger >Every model is optics ready >Modularity (a straight rip off of the p320) >Picatinny rail (This will never happen)
all the 9mm/40 glocks using the thinner 43 slides but in normal 17,19,26 lengths and frames with the old mags fitting
put the finger grooves back
no front serrations, no stupid grip flare
mos and ambistuff can stay
essentially i want gen4 with a thinner slide, and better finish
oh and for 17L to actually exist again
You should wait for Gen. 6. It will come with groundbreaking updates that will change handgun technology forever: ambidextrous mag release and picatinny rail instead of accessory rail.
Because if it was up to glock, they wouldn't even make the .40 caliber gen5 models. They only make them because there are just enough PD departments to justify it. In an ideal glock world they'd just make the 9s (and the .22s and .380s probably) to save money. It's much easier to streamline the cost that way if you can use the same or similar tooling for literally everything.
What improvements do you guys want for Gen 6?
For me: >Stock Night Sights >Improved trigger >Every model is optics ready >Modularity (a straight rip off of the p320) >Picatinny rail (This will never happen)
A lot of that would probably involve glock taking either a cut on their profit per pistol to incorporate those as standard features (night sights) or upcharge to the point you're looking at HK prices, when people already complain that glocks aren't $300 LEO trade in specials anymore. If glock changes anything they'd probably do >some polymer filler covering an optic plate mount because that's not terribly more expensive nowadays >trigger fiddling, as is tradition, to get a 5% better pull or reset >may or may not bring back a new iteration of the finger grooves, whether they are just smaller bumps a la the APX or more like the divisive Gen3/4 remains to be seen >A change in the coating, because if there is one thing glock likes to frick with its the finish of their guns for whatever reason
I wonder how all those competition shooters from the 80s all the way until recently who can still shoot circles around you even with a stock 1911 were able to shoot without front serrations. Magic I guess.
I like the19x and don't care for all this anti-serrationism
Seems like new Glock generations these days are to meet the requirements of gov/mil bids that may or may not have been written with Sig in mind, and to cut costs while doing so.
It might be a few years before the next one comes along.
Since you have both time and money to burn, Class III seems like a pretty good option.
Anybody hear anything about the 46? Seems kind of weird that they are keeping such a radical departure under their hat.
gen 3, gen 4, gen 5 who cares. Since 1995 g26 has been the best glock. I cringe whenever I see a 43X posted. Looks like it crawled out of the abortion clinic dumpster
I have the long slender fingers of a master pianist, another hobby of mine. You are a zoomer with an abortion gun when perfection has achieved in 1995.
I bet you have M.O.S. too. G26 shoots like a 19 meanwhile single stacks shoot like shit
Does a 26 run the 33rd mags reliably? I've had issues with other subcompacts and stendos as the slide velocity outruns the magazine spring and rounds nosedive into the feed ramp.
43x grip prints more, barrel length is the same, and you have to use cucked shield arms mags instead of just slapping in a 15 or frick it, 33.
You fell for the meme zoom zoom. No need for a thinner glock unless you're obese anyway. Grip is what prints

no. Versatility is having a tiny cc that shoots like a 19 or 17 due to the thick slide and accepts those mags.
43X is a fricking meme thin single stack shoots like shit and you have to use ghetto mags
Gen 6 is probably gonna add an extra rail cut , and a slightly different magwell. Glock doesnt fricking change anything. Just upgrade, buying anything past gen 4 is a waste of time.
Best trigger Glock has ever made. Most durable finish Glock has ever made. You can hate on Glock but Gen5 is simply the best they have released by a long shot. Only downside: mostly 9mm (except very rare special orders).
>thinking a pistol is anything but a personal defense weapon you wont even aim in real life scenarios but point in the general direction and mag dump and therefore simply needs to exist and function to be effective and any 100 year old gat will be just fine
Upgrade? Pistol is fine. moron.
he has gen 5.0 with no front serrations. barely usable
Those are the only acceptable gen 5.
You have the grip strength of a baby. A stupid weak baby.
t. never shoots
enjoy your pointless half moon cutout on the front of the grip cutting your fingers if you ever do any high volume shooting lmao
Blocks your path.

I want that. I hate that frickin cut out.

Blocks your path. “Nothing personal kid”
the no front serration version doesn't have the breech face cut (glock says this improves ejection)
>glock says
Hmmm.
I talked with them on the phone about it, so yeah, glock says.
I had my Gen 3 26 next to my Gen 5 19 and they look pretty similar. I like the non-blocky front. Didn’t know the rationale.
I wonder how all those competition shooters from the 80s all the way until recently who can still shoot circles around you even with a stock 1911 were able to shoot without front serrations. Magic I guess.
this isn't the next call of duty you're waiting for. gen 6 could be 5 years from now for all we know
Must be why Glock is planning on Gen 6 at SHOT 2023 huh
What new features will the Gen 6 have?
This. Outside of not using pot metal or whatever the frick happened with the MOS plates, what's left. The barrel change, trigger, and grip were much improved. All I cannfigure is left at this point is them paying M.A.R.S. or whoever for a true ambi mag release.

sure they are. Post a link.
Any day now
I have so many glonks no new 10mm no buy from me. Gen 6 had to be more than 9mm.
It’s just the same pistol
Bring back the finger grooves
Why?

They were for special forces only
Upgrade

it is true, like it or not.
get a threaded barrel?
Literally the only thing I'd like from the later gens in my 3 would be the wider mag release, nothing more.
how do you keep your guns so clean? mine always have bits of skin on it on the serrations
dont shoot them
Do you have a skin condition?
is having skin peel off once in a while a skin condition?
From pistol slide serrations? Yeah.
>how do you keep your guns so clean?

Magazine scallop with a Tangodown mag release is better than gen 4 or 5.
>Tangodown mag release
Neat, went ahead and ordered one so we'll see how it goes. Thanks anon.
If you are looking for back straps, grip force is a great gen 3 option.
Side grade into 43x mos
The meta is thinner more comfy carry guns
The real upgrade from a Glock, is not buying another Glock.
Will shoot just the same
Do Glockgays really act like this

You should wait for Gen. 6. It will come with groundbreaking updates that will change handgun technology forever: ambidextrous mag release and picatinny rail instead of accessory rail.
I hope they put the finger grooves back on and remove the rounded edge on the front
feels good to be a gen3 gay
How come they won’t make gen5 10mm models?

They were originally making Gen 5 .40s because of Brazil
They say it cant be done but imagine a 19X, but with forward serrations. There I go dreaming again.
>19 barrel length
>17 grip length
>totally moronic
Why you do this?
I like the19x and don't care for all this anti-serrationism
Get 45 and paint it? Follows the same track of moronation.
trigger on 19x > 45 for some reason
Hmmm. I reckon it wouldn't be to hard to find a used 19x trigger online from goobers who change it.
probably right. might look into it

Non Black folk usually dont try to cc with a 33 in a 26 since thats what we’re talking about here.
