They aren't though, height over bore zeroing is very poor,(especially for versatile rifles), problems with eye alignment when prone and in awkward positions. Not to mention they are 200-250 bones for literally no reason. Knock-offs that hold zero, give you the same height, just as strong, and a fraction of the price. Keep telling yourself that to cope.
I don't like owning rifles that fill the same niche so I doubt I'll get another carbine anytime soon but if I did I would strongly consider putting a Unity on it, whether it had a LAM or not. I just find it more comfortable at this point when using red dots for 95% of the shooting I do with that rifle.

hard for me to see how you could distinguish between niches for which a red dot alone is appropriate vs a red dot plus lam but you do you homie. I also find it more comfortable, but I think it has some disadvantages and I'd throw a lam on any of my dot guns.

Only scenarios I can think of are if I didn’t have NV or for an eventual HD-centered gun that I knew I generally wasn’t going to shoot under goggles. But yeah, other than that I agree with you. It was just a hypothetical since it’s on the flowchart in the OP.

I would run the Unity mount even without the Perst imo. Makes passive aiming with night vision more comfortable.
Zeroing issues are overblown. It's only really a consideration within 25m and is fine if you know your holds. I'm not doing hostage rescues.
