Ultimate Vehicle Camera System

Some cars have tons of cameras all around them. When I get more money, I plan on buying a ton of GoPros in bulk to place all over my car. I plan on having two to three cameras recording the front of the car, one or two in the dash (one of them recording speed with GPS, but that one would likely have a lower resolution) and one on the front license plate, two cameras on each door, one facing upwards to be able to catch would-be carjackers and corrupt police officers, and the other facing outwards to the back to catch details about cars to the sides of me, two cameras on the back, one on the rear license place, four cameras for the cabin, two for each row of seats, with two sets recording from the front and from the rear. This would lead to a total of 16 or 17 cameras throughout the vehicle.

I'm also wondering if it would be realistic to be able to set up the cameras so that they automatically record to an SSD inside the vehicle, bonus if I could access this system remotely through cellular data in the case of vehicle theft.

If something crazy ever happens while I'm driving, those cameras would most likely capture it.

They don't have an 'overwrite when full' mode? And if durability is an issue, samsung pro endurance cards.

GoPros are expensive. I used a couple of security cams but the reolink models that are battery operated, are gay and can't continuously record motion, even when powered continuously. I had them laying around so i figured it was worth a try.

I got inspired by your post OP and bought a ThinkWare X700 w the GPS and rear camera for $70. They make additional side cameras for it, too.

Better idea: Mount a single action camera to the visor of a baseball cap (using adhesive Velcro strips), and wear the cap whenever you're driving (powering the camera with a USB cable). You can twist around in your seat to film in any direction you want.
    t. has actually done this for several years, accumulating multiple terabytes of 4K60 footage

I imagine this would also work very well as a body camera, but you'd be missing a few details. Body cameras that are on your actual body instead of your head could be used to record criminals who try to rob you or commit some other sort of crime. They could also be used to record abusive police officers.

I was looking in to this recently. I need a new radio unit and I want a backup camera, but I’d like a dash cam too. Some of the radio/media head units have a couple of camera inputs and can setup a screen for backup camera lines. But none of them have an accelerometer and recording function to turn it in to a simple dash cam host, this seems like a no-brainer. What’s the hold up?
