Whenever people mention BoJo I always chuckle. Mainly because if Russians found out that BoJo is actually American they'd fricking melt under the combined Anglo power he radiates. Shame he's gone gone now. Neighbour met him a few days ago and her grandkids play with his (guy has like 7 kids lmao).

        (1) Break through the Russian forward defense along the line Nesterianka-Novosyolovka (6km and 19km southeast of Orekhov, respectively) into the defense depth of Guards battalions in the Polozhsk-Orekhov sector, utilizing, in the first echelon, the 47th and 65th Separate Mechanized Brigades, 9th Army Corps (total of 2 tank and 7 infantry battalions—8300 men with up to 60 tanks, up to 200 other armored fighting vehicles, up to 110 field pieces and mortars, 12 MLRS, up to 100 motor rafts.) Breakthrough of the contact line will be in the order of the 65th which is already on the line, then the 47th. Neighboring units including the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade will carry the task of harrying neighboring Russian units so as to prevent reinforcement of Russian forces at the main axis of advance.

        (2) Subsequently, deploy the main forces. The main blow is to be from the vicinity of Orekhov, in the direction of Tokmak, ultimately towards Melitopol’. By way of sequential deployment into battle of the first echelon (116th and 118th Separate Mechanized Brigades) and second echelon (117th Separate Mechanized Brigade) of the 10th Army Corps (total of 3 tank battalions and 9 infantry battalions—12,600 men, 89 tanks, 267 other armored fighting vehicles, 145 field pieces and mortars, 18 MLRS, up to 130 motor rafts, up to 170 antitank missile launchers), within ten days reach Veseloe northwest of Melitopol’ and Mordvinovka south of it, ringing Melitopol’ primarily from the east and holding those positions.

          Anonymous

          (3) To support the main blow, direct a secondary blow in the direction of Romanovskoe, Grigorievka, and Primorsk (28km, 46km, and 100km southeast of Orekhov, respectively), utilizing a grouping of airmobile forces (82nd Separate Parachute Assault Brigade, 71st Separate Ranger Brigade, and part of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade [DON’T BE CONFUSED, THESE UNITS ARE STRICTLY GROUND-BOUND AT THIS TIME), a detachment of the Azov, the 132nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, and Tactical Group 4 of the Separate Center for Special Operations – designation “West” (total of 1 tank and 13 infantry battalions—12,900 men, 14 tanks, 364 other armored fighting vehicles, 136 field pieces and mortars, 13 MLRS, 227 motor rafts), advance to the line of Urozhainoe-Chernigovka-Verkhnii Tokmak (34km, 41km, and 52km southeast of Orekhov, respectively), so as to cover the left flank of the main axis force as well as to threaten an advance from the west into the flank and rear of the Russian 35th Army.

          (4) Subsequently, to build on these efforts by directing the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade and the Azov detachment to conduct raids—avoiding towns and main foci of defense—in the direction (not necessarily reaching these towns, the “XXkm” may be depth-of-advance targets, not actual town positions) of Mordvinovka, Stepanovka Pervaya, Botievo, Primosrk (11km south, 29km southeast, and 40km and 75km southeast of Melitopol, respectively.) After which, to gain control of the southern portion of Zaporozhie Oblast’, to include control of Chernigovka but not yet entering Melitopol’ or Primorsk, and at the end of 8 days, reach the Sea of Azov coast from Stepanovka Pervaya to the western suburbs of Berdiansk, with the goal of preventing a marine landing by Russian forces.

            Anonymous

            5) Separately, from the Guliaipole area, advance south to Pologi and thence in the direction of Berdiansk with the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 102nd and 110th Separate Brigades of Territorial Defense (total of 1 tank and 9 infantry battalions, of which 6 are Territorial Defense—10,000 men, 31 tanks, 108 other armored fighting vehicles, 53 field pieces and mortars, 4 MLRS, 52 motor rafts, and 48 antitank missile launchers, so as to split the Russian forces and complete the encirclement of the 35th Army from the east (in tandem with the airmobile force group coming from the west) and subsequently enter the northern suburbs of Berdiansk, and to besiege the city.

            (6) In general, with the goal of maintaining a high tempo of advance, all cities and large towns will be bypassed and cut off / surrounded, to include, Tokmak, Pologi, Molochansk.

            (7) Simultaneously, conduct a river crossing and assault the area of Kamenskoe-Vasilievka, using the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, 15th Tactical Brigade of the National Guard, and the 415th and 425th Separate Rifle Battalions (total of 1 tank and 10 infantry battalions—7600 men, 41 tanks, 148 other armored fighting vehicles, 129 field pieces and mortars, 308 motor rafts, and 69 antitank missile launchers), with the goal of reaching towns and villages 10km to 25km west to southwest of Melitopol, linking up with the main force described in (2), and thereafter supporting an advance on Dnieprorudnoe and Energodar from the south, at the same time as helicopter-borne and riverine infantry assault the Dniepr shore (near those towns) from the north.

Life reminiscences (if relevant), relating your relevant personal experiences, talking about your commie college girlfriend, your idiot family members, your Ukrainian coworker, etc., if relevant, are all HIGHLY encouraged. Credible or not it's the second week of the offensive and they made Russian sized gains, most of their best troops and equipment has suffered and they failed to achieve any breakthrough.
This military op looks to me like a political decision made by gays at desks to look good not a sound military decision, just like holding Backhmutt for no apparent reason.
I said this gay little war was over in January and that only marginal gains will be made by both sides and the it will fizzle out like 2015.
Experts on /k/ laughed at me and called me a vatnik, turns out I was 100% right.

        This is not reddit troon.
Anyway we are 2 weeks plus in the offensive this not including the "shaping operations".
I am convinced they cant doo much more because they lost a good chunk of gear that took half a year to assemble and prepare. What are they going to do?Smash the frontline with 14 challenger 2s?Even the Kharkov rout needed 20 tanks and 20k+ fresh troops.
Here we have a heavily fortified and prepared front that is several times longer to say nothing of the greater troop concentration and layered defense lines.
What other options does Ukraine have?Wagner like mass pushes with infantry detachments for 10 months? That worked in a small urban envoirenment and not so much over open ground that can be easily covered by artilery.
Plus there is a good reason for wagners succes.Mercs and prisoners could not refuse suicide missions .Most of Ukraines military are low motivated coscripts and a few very motivated proffesionals. Both cathegories would turn into "refusenicks" if ordered on suicide charges.
The war is unironically long over just like the coof and the vaxx scam, get over it,move to the next big thing.

            >Ukraine has already gained more ground than gayner did in 10 months.
Yeah at the cost of vital and expensive equipment that they needed over half a year to prepare.
Thats my argument, current losses are not susteinable ,when they run out of heavy equipment they will either need to severly change tactics or give up.

Not really they lost a dozen or so of Bradley's and about a dozen Leopards, the rest were all shitbox MRAPs and old APCs.

Hell you know the losses on the official Wikipedia page for the counteroffensive, that was everything they've lost since February of the entire war but apparently they put that on the page to ease Russian butthurt

              Anonymous

We have seen losses from like 1 or 2 western-equipped brigades so far. The main reason Ukrainians paused is because Russians were counterattacking the past 2 or 3 days (and got smacked). Ukraine had like 70 or 80 visually confirmed destroyed/damaged/abandoned vehicles in the past 7 days which are not catastrophic losses

                Anonymous

well, it's not catastrophic right now, but if you take those kinds of losses for 100km, it will definitely become catastrophic.

                Anonymous

The Russian defenses are not 100 kilometres deep and they've been taking about equal or slightly higher losses overall during this operation
We'll see how it goes, it's way too early to draw any conclusions

Ukroshills can ignore reality all they want but shit went south real fast for Ukraine.
Either the counteroffensive with NATO gear and new brigades that was months in the making with weeks of shaping operations leading up to it only managed to take a couple of villages after 2 weeks of intense fighting or the Ukrainian planning going into this was so bad that this is what they cooked up after a few billions and months of prep time.
Either way Ukraine is not delivering.

It’s pretty embarrassing that the Russians don’t know all of ukraines troop movements. They were indisputably #2 in space capabilities until about 2012. Did they never develop reconnaissance satellites or SIGNIT satellites? What the frick are they doing up there. Until last year I just assumed they had roughly 1980s or 70s America levels of satellite intelligence capabilities.

      Psychological projection
      See also: Egocentrism
Psychological projection is a defence mechanism of alterity concerning "inside" content mistaken to be coming from the "outside" Other.[1] It forms the basis of empathy by the projection of personal experiences to understand someone else's subjective world.[1] In its malignant forms, it is a defense mechanism in which the ego defends itself against disowned and highly negative parts of the self by denying their existence in themselves and attributing them to others, breeding misunderstanding and causing untold interpersonal damage.[2] A bully may project their own feelings of vulnerability onto the target, or a person who is confused may project feelings of confusion and inadequacy onto other people. Projection incorporates blame shifting and can manifest as shame dumping.[3] Projection has been described as an early phase of introjection.[4]

In March of 2022 there was an incident in which an armored battalion of the Ukrainian forces stopped in an open field to prepare to cross a river bridge.
It was spotted by a Russian drone and the follow on artillery destroyed the entire armored battalion in about 15 minutes.
As long as the Russians have forward observers and artillery arrayed across the battle space armor will not have a great effect.
Artillery trumps armor every time. As long as the Russians can prevent Ukrainian air to surface attacks on their artillery and have an artillery advantage the Russians will control the battle space.
Also consider a modern tank division that numbers 400 modern main battle tanks requires 600,000 gallons of fuel to operate every day. You are talking about 100 fuel trucks that only carry 5,000 gallons of fuel at a time operating near the forward edge of the battle space along with their support personnel and equipment.
As long as the Russians have artillery and forward observers and can prevent Ukrainian air forces from engaging their artillery the advantage is to the Russians, by a long shot. Meat grinder it is.

Or maybe the reality of the situation doesn't register on /k/eddit echo chamber due to intensely pro-ukraine jannies. But all of the fighting, all of the ukraine gains and losses, all of the back and forth that's been happening over the last 12 (twelve) days of this counteroffensyiv. Has been going at the gray zone. By that I mean the screening line, the buffer area before the first line of Russian defenses. You see, it's not even the fact that hohols absolute best, all-volunteer, nato-trained, "elite" 47th gucci brigade got mauled in the first days of this copefensive. It's the fact that it got mauled before it could even reach the first Russian defensive line. And there is *more* than one Russian defensive line that the ukraine has to break through. In order to claim this clownfensive wasn't a total unmitigated disaster for the ukraine.
