Mud debuff is still active, no offensive yet
There may be some preliminary shaping operations happening however

I think it has not fully started yet either but the mud is not as bad. It seems like it rains often in the south right now but it seems to be low intensity rains and temperature is steadily going up. I think in 3-4 days they will launch the offensive fully.

nope. sand drains extremely well. the rain just packs the sand down so it's even firmer than when it's dry and the wind has been blowing it around.

Everytime you guys claim something is a twitter offensive, Russia loses a large swathe of land that they spent half a year fighting for in the span of a few weeks. When will you guys learn? The more you call it a twitter offensive, the more I expect the Ukrainians to be at the Isthmus of Perekop by the end of this year.

An additional reminder, he refused to call up the army and reserves for fear of provoking the Russians until they had already crossed the border and were at the gates of Kiev. 82nd BDE is so weirdly compiled. 14 MBTs, 130 IFVs and 24 SPGs. Then you got the 37 BDE which is 70 MRAPS, 14 IFV (Light Tanks as France calls them), 16 'Tanks' (wut?)' and 12 towed artillery.

        Seems so weird.

Hmm that's curious because AFAIK all US Stryker units feature a mix, some having grenade launchers, others being command/medevac/mortar vehicles, and of course the TOW ones in IIRC weapons companies or whatever they're called. Doesn't make much sense to send a unit into ATGM country and not give them ATGMs.

Yeah. I assume it's just the one with M2/40mm Grenade Launcher/M240 on. Maybe some specialised ones like engineer and evac ones. I doubt there is any 30mm autocannon, 105mm, mortar or ATGM variants. But I'm happy to be wrong.

No the it makes perfect sense, the 87th is mechanised infantry with armored support

Anything other than a fully armored brigade would be fricking terrified to engage this formation. It can move quickly across all terrain, dismount infantry and support them with autocannons and atgms on a fairly armored all terrain platform and for particularly tough positions they have tanks and heavy arty at their disposal. This formation can eviscerate any infantry formation that is not well entrenched.

37 bde is a high mobility brigade. It can move fast as frick boiii exploiting breakthroughs. Sure they havent got the firepower to engage entrenched or armored targets, but they arent supposed to. They can go around such formations, leaving them for the armor, while outflanking them and cutting off supply routes. They still have the kit to smash through unentrenched light infantry and to hold key positions until the heavy hitters roll up.

If anything these unit compositions show that the ukranian armed forces intend the show rommel and guderian the real meaning of blitzkreig.

Deployment of better armor is not going to make meaningful gains in any medium to long run unless the west submits to zelinkski and cucks over alll its own citizens and military.

Remember the US leaks from last week? The Ukrainians bloodline is being erased in fronts like bhakmut while zelinski is begging the west for long range missile with plans to strike inside of russia desperate promising not to. We have western spies keeping an eye on him according to leak. Also, many western countries already have SOF in Ukraine.

    >Has it finally begun?
No. However you can see the huge casualties inflicted on the Russians and in particular the big daily losses taken by Russian artillery as well as all armoured vehicles. Artillery is the crucial defensive weapon. The Russians have been haemorrhaging guns and artillerymen and mlrs for a month. I have been reading this as Ukrainian shaping via elimination of all semi-effective Russian artillery units capable of counterbattery. As said before Russia has already lost this war, the only thing observers like me are wafting to see is how catastrophic the final Russian losses are. I Don't think the Russians even have the logistical, organisation capability to pull off a good retreat or withdrawal or the vehicles. This is going to be very painful indeed for the Russian nation and effectively end the Russian ground forces as an equipped military organisation capable of any considered defense. It has already effectively lost offensive and manoeuvre warfare ability.

And that’s why Ukraine must win this war, to put an end to this shit once and for all. That’s what 1991 was about, as well as 2003-04, and 2014.
Free of Russia’s destabilizing influence, there’s a chance this endemic corruption can be excised once and for all. There is none whatsoever if Ukraine loses, and that’s worth fighting for.

Guys I've seen posting for years (ie not poo shills) have been regurgitating comics like that from social media ever since the war started. The actual reasoning seems to be a cross between "We're America--frick Europe and their 3rd world border wars that don't matter" plus "Democrats spending money on anything means corruption" and "Libtard media tried to blame Russia for the election so Russians are really the good guys."

I remember seeing one of them (John Doyle) post a video where he literally said that one of the reasons to take Russia's side was because liberals said Ukraine were the good guys, and since liberals lie about everything, Ukraine must really have been the bad guys. And I'm only paraphrasing it very slightly.
It was very disappointing, since he was generally one of the less moronic political youtubers. The war has been just as bad as covid when it comes to turning previously intelligent people into complete fricking idiots.

USA is an empire in free fall.
They have no idea what to do their elites are divided and out of ideas. Ukraine has exposed their weakness and the world's powers have lost their fear and with it their respect. Their dollar hegemony is ending and they have no answer to it.
While world powers like Brazil, India, Russia, China are cooperating to end America's global tyranny they are solely and obsessively focused on countering China. It's like the British Empire's obsession with and tunnel vision on Germany before its fall.

That’s the reality of war, the days of spectacular one day battles are over. It all boils down to thousands of smaller units grappling with each other, building up the tension across the front through small, incremental gains and losses until it reaches the point of deluge and then the rapid breakthrough and just as rapid consolidation, and a new equilibrium is reached. Repeat ad nauseum.
Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised that Big Spring Drive hadn’t already begun weeks ago, around the time the Russians started signalling massive troop concentrations across the front.

Because Russians cannot fight wars. They are not fit to be soldiers. Their only ability is to die in droves for their current master. They do have the capacity to understand the finer parts of strategy and tactics. The only times Russia wins wars is when they fight against people that are a magnitude poorer, less technologically advance and lesser in number than they are or if they are being supplied and given intelligence by the West. In the first event it's more of a 50/50 because they lost Afghanistan and the first Chechen War and somehow managed to stalemate against Georgia of all countries. Russia as a country and Russians as a people are a black stain of incompetence on Europe.

Military incompetence combined with the idea that they could easily take Kyiv and end the war. Same goes for Sumy and Chernihiv. It gave the defenders time to properly prepare and also gave them enough time to inflict heavy casualties on the russians.

                >all the other warrior societies do it too
This one is actually sort of true, although it's more specifically a pagan warrior thing.
Christian societies tend to see homosexuality as bad because it's a perversion of nature and evidence of sexual hedonism and excess. So for Christians, homosexuality is bad no matter what.
Pagan warrior societies tend to think that homosexuality is bad because they put a high value on masculinity and being gay is unmanly. But that only applies to the man getting fricked, because he's taking the feminine role. The one doing the fricking is still taking the male role, so that's seen as more acceptable.
Essentially, the Russians are admitting that their society isn't really Christian (which was already obvious to anyone who was paying attention).

Not saying you're doing it, but justifying male prostitution and rape in the military with some hilarious bullshit about warrior culture and masculinity is absolutely pathetic. There's nothing masculine or warrior-like about raping another man by means of pulling rank, coercion, extortion or just plainly by superior numbers. It's just Russians expressing the closeted homosexuality that's so prevalent in their culture, likely due to sexual frustration and the means provided by corruption and a lack of unity.

"no u" is *usually* a bad argument. But in this case, the whole point of the meme is to make fun of people who just do the opposite of what the other side does, so it's appropriate for it to be the same thing with just the logos switched around.

Imagine the cognitive load it would take for your stupid ass to make a meme without copying something that was already making fun of you and then changing a few graphics to Russia or RT, kek

AAAIEEEE ZISTERS HELP ME. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE WINNING? WHY IS REALITY SO RUSSOPHOBIC????

Russia just wanted to go easy on Ukraine like she did on Crimea and never wanted war but when the west whipped up their ukrainian client state into a warmongering frenzy they decided to retreat due to safety issues. Putin still doesn't want to declare war on Ukraine so despite the regime's hostile actions there won't be war between Russia and Ukraine. But that's ok because Russia achieved the main objectives. The coup installed regime will never get the annexed regions. Cope. Btw the Ukrainian liberation denazification and demilitarization goals will not go away.

Why does nobody take advantage of that and conquer Russia? hmm

Because monke will nook. If Russia had no nukes it would have been dismembered by much more competent countries years ago.

I'm going to stop you there because you type like a homosexual Russia. You can make any excuse you want but at the end of the day, the Russian military is a corrupt and incompetent gay rape organization who does dacha construction as a side hustle and they lost land that under Russian laws was annexed by Russia and belonged to Russia to a severely inferior opponent.

Actually a lot of countries would have a lot to gain from taking apart Russia. China has been wanting to regain their lost territories from Russia for centuries now, especially considering the mineral and fossil fuel wealth that Russia is too stupid and incompetent to take advantage of that is literally just a day's walk from the Russian-Chinese border. Reminder that the first unequal treaty that kickstarted the century of humiliation was the one that the Russian Empire forced the Qing to sign. That's not including Karelia that the Vatnigs stole from the Finns and the territories by the Caucasus as well as Kaliningrad. If monke had no nukes, I promise you that Russia would've already been dismantled ages ago.

Jesus Christ the parallel universe this guy inhabits. It's all 5d chess by Russia. They're not incompetent, they just want to hold 1/3 of the oblasts they claimed and don't want to bring violence to the Ukraine. Thay's why they spent months slinging cruise missiles at Ukrainian cities and have expended nearly all of their modern tanks. You see, they haven't taken off the gloves yet.

        Nukes?

Nothing has changed from the days of the Cold War except the EU and NATO deluded themselves into thinking they could work with the Russian Federation unlike the USSR.
Mutually Assured Destruction is still in effect, which makes any propaganda points from Russia about NATO or Ukraine preparing to invade Russia bats hit insane rethotic.

    [...]

Depressed and insecure people often feel intimidated by beauty because they associate it with high standards and unconsciously think they're not worthy of being around it.
They find ugly things more comforting because they associate it with low expectations.
For example, if a person like that is put into a nice house, they feel uncomfortable because of all the work they have to do to keep it looking nice. They imagine that they won't be able to manage it and they get anxious. But if you put them in a shitty-looking house with dirt and trash everywhere, they'll be more comfortable because they don't have to worry about it going to shit.
