Oh, nice, so my source was indeed right and KhKBM/ZIM still works despite russian shelling. I wonder how many underground layers that factory has

You don't need underground layers if you evacuate your factory to safe place

Well, tell that to soviets. Afaik, every important factory has at least some underground manufacturing facilities. Some, that are located in major cities, are even connected to the metro system

it's better to disperse than build in one place

Look at the size of this factory. It's bigger than some European towns

          >Well, tell that to soviets
Soviets evacuated most Ukrainian military factories during WW2 to Ural (and then never returned them)

I mean they produce their own mortar, tank and artillery shells outside of Ukraine so they could've always rented some space in Poland, Romania or Slovakia.

    >doors and windows in the frontal armored area of the IFV
    pretty fricking moronic honestly

the doors are on the side and the windows are reinforced bullet resistant. I doubt they will stop anything heavier than 14.5mm. But then again the chassis itself is barely armored to protect against that.

its doctrinally moronic, the frontal armor is ideally what you want to point towards the enemy for several reason 1)smaller profile 2)the troops can dismount under cover 3)its the only place that actually makes sense to armor up. By having doors and windows in the front of the IFV it adds more weakpoints for enemy fire, and will cause the crew to be disabled more easily. Its not like they can use the doors under fire anyways, so why do they exist? For convenience? It's fricking stupid. The frontal area should be armored to withstand 14.5mm. That entire design is gay and moronic. They might as well just use some kind of MRAP.

It has own advantages - it gives much more visibility to the driver. And they also have a version with Boxer-like driver cabin.

They took soviet BTR and turned it into Fuchs with extra pair of wheels.

Fuchs has a couple machine guns as I recall, the BTR-4 had a 30MM cannon+ missiles. The Fuchs is more of an APC, while the BTR is more of an IFV.

visibility is survivability, it's not like 30mm of steel was going to stop autocannon fire or a real ATGM anyways, and slat armor provides some protection against basic RPGs
