>The Swedish government has now formally announced plans to provide training to pilots and ground personnel from Ukraine on the operation and maintenance of JAS-39 Gripen fighter jets. This is in response to a Ukrainian desire for an "operational evaluation" of the type, which could imply interest in acquiring these aircraft.

I've heard it said that the Gripen is better suited for Ukraine than the F-16, is this true?
Yeah. Probably better at doing nothing and taking up budget someone else is paying for anyways
England licking their chops at an excuse to throw a few dozen meteors at Ukraine
>Ukraine gets Gripen
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ukraine will never get gripen. I don't know why people even keep writing, posting, linking and reading these "articles".
Of course it will. We just need to mock and insult Sweden for a couple of months, lol.
What airfield will the wonder weapons be based at ?
Don't you have some wood to collect Shoigu?
Your mom's seventh right armpit fold (since it's located in Ukraine)
The whole point of the Gripen is you can service it with two guys and a forklift on a highway
that the whole point of your mom too
the forklift cause she fat
Yeah its designed for being operated from backroads and shit and isn't restricted to just airfields. Also more obvious stuff like meteors would come very handly.
Great work sweden, a shame its only 1.5 years too late. If you had given them to ukraine way back maybe somebody would actually buy your piece of shit export version.
Who knows? Maybe Ukraine will get revenge on EVIL Sweden and make a better Gripen, lol?
> I've heard it said that the Gripen is better suited for Ukraine than the F-16, is this true?
Assuming you’re not just another subhuman bait poster:
A lot of the aid Ukraine has received or will get is western hand-me-downs that would have been scrapped or kept for parts for other airframes/equipment in service.
While F-18s, F-16s, MiG-29s, and other aircraft are nice to have, they’re not the best long term options for going against the Russian Air Force, especially if they arrive in time to fly constant combat operations in the war.
J-39s are purpose built for the type of combat Ukraine is fighting right now while US and Russian/Soviet aircraft less so. Sweden also isn’t too far away so serving and upgrades could be done without having to fly jets across the Atlantic or go through literal lengths to have them upgraded at home.
>Saab president cries about no sales for Gripen
>wasn't begging everyone and going on a marketing spree to get Gripen to be THE fighter for Ukraine for the past year
What were they thinking?
>what were they thinking?
That they could sell to Russia simping thirdies
>a ukrainian pilot will ride a two-seater during an demo flight, just like pilots from a hundred other countries have done
>"This means Sweden will give away jet fighters as a gift!"
Brainlet parade.
>"uhm, F-16 cannot be given to the ukies because... uhmm. F-16 is le bad???"
Brainlet parade.
The new vatnik cope is that F-16s can't be given to Ukraine because of kinematics.
It's sounds more like yankee bullshit than vatnik cope.
Just like when no one was giving MBTs to Ukraine all the normie media was screaming about Germany releasing their Leo2. And when someone asked why the Abrams was not considered the "experts" really said with a straight face:
"uhm, the Abrams is actually le bad. It was not at all designed to fight russian armor on a european battlefield and also the gas turbine makes it IMPOSSIBLE to maintain and operate in the field. So no Abrams, it gotta be the Leo2."
But of course when the Leo was finally given to Ukraine the Americans also sent a large number of Abrams.
Sweden providing 20 jets would be an extreme scenario and would only happen if the US gives at least 200 F-16.
Seems like a waste of time during wartime. Sweden doesn't have planes to spare and won't be able to manufacture any amount that matters during the duration of the war. If Ukraine wants to buy Gripens after the war fine, but I imagine they'll stick with plane types they'll actually be familiar with like donated F-16's or F/A-18's.
you can smell the impotent rage coming from this image, along with a hint of curry
And why would Russia be mad that an italian pilot was in therapy after getting dabbed on by SU-30? I get that your defense mechanism is to try and reframe it as anger, but at least try to make sense with it.
>Russia
He's calling you a pajeet pajeet, you effectively have to be seething when you resort to posting cope images kek.
>writes Russian analyst Andrey Andreev
I'm sure it's not a total load of fan fiction, just like how the Black Fleet stopped the Brits from doing FoN ops by firing warning shots at them, right?
>you can smell the impotent rage coming from this image, along with a hint of curry
HES DOING IT AGAIN MOM!
HES CALLING ME BROWN!
HES ASKING ME TO POST MY HANDS!
the absolute state of nafo defeat is the most pathetic display imaginable
lol
F35 pilots need therapy after Growler-SU put the fear of God into his spaghetti ass
and in comes getting
>DEBOOOOOOOOOOOOONKED
by being called "brown" "thirdie"
or some other absolute bottom-b***h homosexualry like that
>Russians try ram western jets yet again
Honestly we should have started shooting them down decades ago before they even got into range, impotent threats like this should be met by force.
> impotent threats
Why would the pilot of an F-35 be frozen with fear at an impotent threat? What happens if they have to face a real threat?
Anon, you have to let these jets get close to you to be a threat.
As he said, he turned away to show he was not being a threat, and the Russian pilot almost crashed into him, but still basically did nothing but threaten.
If that's not the definition of impotent I don't know what it.
>What happens if they have to face a real threat?
A fight reaction instead of a freeze one. The freeze reaction happens when you're faced with a threat but can not act in the moment.
>F-35 pilot freezes
>SU-30 pilot is the impotent one
The Su-30 pilot is not actually engaging in combat or a deadly situation and he knows it. He can do this because his air force is too incompetent and unprofessional to enforce ROE or flight safety.
>esl turd worlder reading comprehension
>Orders not to engage
>moron almost rams your slower aircraft
>You freeze when you're life is at stake because of some literally moron is being suicidal and could kill you and there is nothing you can do but watch him kill you because of the rules of engagement.
In an actual engagement your gay plane explodes before it even sees them.
Threats without action are cowardly by definition. Actually do something instead of taking advantage of engagement policy pussy or you will end up getting shot down in future.
Russia tries to tie the line like a b***h at school.
Shitskin reading comprehension skills never cease to amaze me
best part? the closes italian F-35s were to the baltics during those "happenings" was iceland.
The last time Italy was active in the baltic air patrol was summer 2022 with 4 eurofighters.
>it is possible
Tells me all I need to know
There are absolutely zero (0) Gripens available. I dont know what kind of bullshit the ukies are playing at. Ex USN and Australian F-18s are available off the shelf and they have 2 Gripen engines meaning much better acceleration and cargo capability. Gripen is really only a boosted trainer.
>I've heard it said that the Gripen is better suited for Ukraine than the F-16, is this true?
ukraine was trying to get gripens (or license them) since at least 2014, but got told off 'cuz "b-but russia will get upset"
the only reason they settled on requests f-16 is because they are readily available in great quantities right now and here, and they don't have time to waste
