Military bicycles are a fantastic idea for any country with a lot of ground to defend and no domestic oil extraction. Being flat of course helps, but for any longer distance deployment a bicycle is incredibly more efficient than walking and obviously doesn't use limited diesel reserves.

Vietnam employed bicycles pretty effectively on the supply line trails.
Ukraine could employ the same principle.

Bicycles can navigate small trails that a wider cart cannot.
