he doesnt work 5200 hours or more a year though

This. He works 100 hours a week a few weeks but it's seasonal work and he has weeks with 0 hours per week.
Speaking of which does anybody have the Pepe NEET edit of this pic that's "if you work more than zero hours per week lower your tone when talking to me"

Some people have pride in thier actions. Shocking. Now cry about cucking to boss while you pay taxes and buy shit from the store/ larp as a pure naturalist to win an online argument.

Yeah. Hard things don't have value just because they're hard. If you do hard things on purpose you should feel silly, because you could've just done easy things instead.

Of course it would be better described as "smug arrogance borne of crippling insecurity" or "haughty contempt masking a lack of self confidence or any legitimate reason to demand respect from others", but I'm sure that person and similarly afflicted supporters would call it "pride".

People wide legitimate pride would be too...proud to engage in such a ridiculous display of douchebaggery.

Working extra hours itself isn't worthy of praise - unless you're an employer.
It means you value your own time less. Meaning you value your family, God and your community less. There's nothing wrong in dedicating yourself to your passion, but in this case would you respect a person who doesn't respect himself?

My roommate was like this. Rubs it in all the time that I'm lazy because I only work 24 hours (2 12s) a week and get by fine. He would complain about it all the fricking time. If I said I'm tired, "bro you only work 2 days a week."

Well he just lost his job and now he's been out of work for 2 weeks, and guess what, he shut the frick up about how much I work.

Yeah, that's his problem, moment he got off the job site and embraced the idea of women and drink, he ended up in prison. See that's why I put more effort into women and drinking, so this doesn't happen to me. Makes me a better worker then mister gorillian hours when I'm not, you know, in prison.

do you think it is possible for a human to grow used to a shift that is 30 on 18 off? that would be roughly 120h a week.
basically working 9.5 hours, then a 30min paid lunch. do that three times and then go sleep for 10h or something.

      Anonymous

Probably but it's stupid scheduling with no regard for sleep. How are you expected to stay awake for 30 hours?

        Anonymous

I think people stuck in caves or sunk ships where they don't see the sun adapt to that kind of schedule

  10. 11 months ago
    Anonymous

12h shifts are very doable. The madness starts to creep in at 24h shifts, we usually did 24h in 48h off, but then some bullshit happened and we had to spend 4 months doing 24h in 24h off, it was miserable.

But 100h work weeks are baby easy. Don't know why people complain about working 8h doing frickall

It's a little different when you're spending every hour of the day agonizing over detailed decisions that nobody cares about unless you frick it up.

The more you work the more in blends together. It also depends on the work. I'd much rather work 50 hours at an industrial job where I'm busy all the time than a 25 hour work week at a slow retail store where you have to pretend to be busy when nothing is happening.

My parents both have that boomer work ethic. My dad worked 50+ hours a week swing shift for decades. Now that he has been retired for 7 years his health is fricked and he can't do anything and can't even enjoy it. He's baffled about how I can live so well with so little money and working so little. They tell me I need to put more money into social security and I just laugh at them because why the frick would I think it will even exist when I get to that age?

    >Lower your tone when talking to me
    Is he demanding some sort of unwarranted respect? Why does he think this is good? People work because they need the money to live life, why would you spend any more time working than necessary to afford your lifestyle, either now or according to a financial plan. If you're working 100 hour weeks I would immediately assume one of the following;
    >made terrible financial or life decisions and have no choice now
    >your life outside of work is downright nightmarish and you just distract yourself with work
    >you're trying to amass capital quickly and then coast the rest of your life off investments while banking big on your quality of life not being shit anyways due to a destroyed body

None of which are necessarily something I'll actively shit on you for, you do you, but if you think it means you deserve some sort of additional respect for it, you're gonna get a laugh out of me. You either willingly submit yourself to this shit, or you fricked up and it's a consequence of your own actions.

He’s a mud logger if I remember rightly, meaning he does no real work except take and analyse samples when they are drilling.
He’s the lowest paid on the rig site and can’t even go up on the rig floor or near the red zone, and that’s why he’s being smug, to compensate for the fact that the average layman knows nothing about the oil patch.
He took the selfie with tower strategically placed in the background obviously to infer that he’s some roughneck or floor hand, but he’s a nobody.

I make $250k sitting on my ass as an engineering manager practically just training noobs and making sure the designers under me did their due diligence. And the company I work for is a tier 1 supplier to every AAA company in the western hemisphere and most of Europe.

So while you bust your balls, health, and youth for a millionaire contractor while your girlfriend cheats on you BC of neglect, I get to relax in my cabin cruiser 6 weeks a year and spend time with my kids. All because I went to school for 5.5 years longer and took an ethics test. Cope on TikTok homosexual
