No, they're just n/Black folk that hate self sufficiency seething. My dad's got like 4 trucks, only one of which he paid for f350 dually with the 7.3 like a decade ago. By now it's made him a profit as he used to plow with it till he got a beater 250 to bath in salt so now his dually is just his tow vehicle. I have one truck I paid 350 dollars for, I've definitely made a profit plowing snow with it.
Trucks outside the rust belt can last decades. I've 1997 and 2000 F150s and a 2000 K1500 I built from three donors back in 2016. I don't buy new trucks because frick that. Not tagged right now are my F350 wrecker and C-30 crew cab wheel lift but they're handy around the yard. A bro gave me a 2000 F150 for helping him wrench (I do that for fun) and all that needs is rear lights if I care to fix that.
Be not a wrenchlet and wallow in vehicles.
Lol no, I pay $200 for rego and insurance, fees it $50 worth of gas ever fortnight, a few parts here and there when something wears out, idk I spent $50 on a new water pump at 285k. I think anon is just seething and coping.
Yeah I'm gonna need a mini every weekend for the next 3 months, maybe swap it out for a skid or something as needed. Let me just pay delivery every fricking weekend. I bet you make all the anti truck redit threads on PrepHole
>spend 10k year on a truck instead of a prius >people seethe
I picked all this up for free. I can't imagine not having a trailer. Most would fit in the bed but I'd hate to load up that engine hoist into the bed of a truck. I could sell the plasma cutter alone for more than my trailer is worth. I want to say shit like this is once in a lifetime, but it's becoming common as people are buying property and throwing all the shit away to flip it. This is the third time I've done something like this just in 2023.
Hoists flip right into beds when they're unfolded. I love my trailers but love my Tommy Gate too. Cheap used and easy to mount, but your truck will need rear spring upgrades if it's a pickup. Worth it.
>Tommy Gate
Mine is a colorado so I wouldn't bother. Maybe with a 2500.

My F150 with Hellwig overloads, Timbrens and coilover shocks does the job with a classic steel gate but they do make lighter gates for your Colorado. Of course they also act as bed extenders when down.
750lbs, that's not bad! It's expensive though, I'd strongly consider it if I didn't already own a trailer with a ramp gate. Whenever I move heavy stuff I don't want to pick up I just bring that.
Yes. In transport config they are Balanced over the axle so that the pressure on the tow hitch dos not exeed 100-200 pounds. Everything else depends on your engine and transmission.
A 50 foot version will usually weigh in at around 2-2.5 metric tons a 100 foot version will weigh around 3-4 tons.
Well you'll be able to tow stuff that weighs less than 5k pounds I suppose.
But really, if it's an SUV based on a 1/2 ton, you can tow whatever the equivalent truck could.
It's great not being american. We get 4 banger diesel trucks for half the cost of 1/2 tons with an 8k towing capacity. Not great on the freeway but we don't have 'em anyway.
lmao I used to work at home depot renting these out
>people would show up having no idea what refinishing their floors entailed but were willing to drop a grand to rent all the equipment. had to explain to them the insane of money they were about to waste >every third guy who returned the equipment on trailers had no idea how to back one up >people expected me to walk them through whatever they were trying to do step-by-step and got mad that I didn't know how to use all the equipment for their project >a couple boomers showed up to rent the mini tractor which is one of our biggest pieces of equipment, I'm finishing up the paperwork with one guy meanwhile the other is backing up a tiny datsun expecting to haul the double axle trailer away, had to cancel it, luckily they didn't get mad about it >these two guys denied the insurance thing we usually add on for like $15, then came back an hour later with a fricked up twisted trailer they had to pay for, kek'd hard
I'm a pro at starting/diagnosing small motors now though
All depends on the renter and the tool. A stump grinder is probably gonna have jacked up teeth no matter who you get it from because any c**t thinks they can use it, and no one's repairing it every time it comes back. A man lift like OP will probably be in good working order because generally they're rented by people who know what they're doing, and the renter's insurance will probably drop them if they let a guy get killed from their negligence.
>A man lift like OP will probably be in good working order because generally they're rented by people who know what they're doing
No.
My company has 5 Ruthmann TB290
but every once in a whle we have to rent one of those lift spiders in OPs pic because we have to get it through some extremely tight space to get to the work site.
Since we own the TB290 lifts were experts at inspecting similar equipment and half the time our inspection in the rental place reveals such catastrophic defects or malfunctions with the machines that we have to go to another rental place to get one.
I AM LOOKING AT YOU MATECO YOU FRICKING WORTHLESS FRICKS.
I rented those lifts from HD a couple times. Hard to get because they are usually broken. You don’t need an HD to tow them but it’s best if you have a truck to reposition them. The landing gears are junk so you can’t reposition them without hooking them back up to your truck.
After all that they are great for painting because you’re not running up and down a ladder all day
God damn, that's awful. Last week I rented a fully self-mobile 45 foot boom lift just like this one from my local rental place for $330 a day, that's 24 hours, including delivery and pickup at the job site. Meanwhile at whatever israelited up place that is, a trailer version which needs to be hooked up to a truck if you have to move it around is $250 for only 4 hours? Talk about getting fricked in the ass.
tool renat IS amazing. had a concrete floor to remove, rented one of those demolition hammers, took around 2-3 hours to absolutely shred it, all for 25 quid
Having a truck big enough to tow is the problem. I don't want a 3/4 ton truck but I really need one.
They have delivery.
he'd rather spend 10k a year on a truck than spend 1k total for delivery a couple weekends a year
Do trucks really cost 10k a year?
With gas prices these days? Yeah, it'd be about that.
10,000 miles a year / 10 mpg * $4.5/gal = $4500
Subtract than from the cost of what could be driven otherwise (like a sedan).
I definitely clear 30k miles a year, sometimes 50k.
Who the frick you tipping?
the guy pumping gas doesn't molest your windows with a squeegee?
you didn't tip the finance guy at the RAM dealership??
That sounds about right. I spend about $800/month on car note + insurance + gas + tip

give it back jamal
I'm a poorgay, but I hate renting tools because I like having the convenience/options of being able to use them whenever I want/need.
Buy a tool of some kind every payday. You'll be surprised how well that works, and tools are income effectiveness multipliers.
>I wish I had a cherry picker rusting on my lawn so I could use it once a year on a whim
Lmaooooooooo
Will am SUV with a 5k pound capacity be enough for me? No immediate plans to tow but equipment rentals would be nice

Thinking about buying a c. 2010 Toyota highlander
Oh. You'd better look on the internet to see if people successfully yow with them. The transmission might not be up fot it.
Euro and Jap cars can tow quite a bit. It's the tongue weight that you have to watch with them.
you aren't going to be hauling shit with a highlander. I have an 01 4runner and it is not a fan of heavy shit at all
Discussing tow and haul capacity without reference to actual numbers is pointless.
>I don’t have numbers
Get them
Not hard to find them and very questionable to tow something if you don’t know for certain it’s within your capacities.
Anon, the bucket in ops photo is 3400lbs, you can pull it and more with a 1990 ford ranger

enterprise rents trucks. not that expensive. I just rented a 1 ton for like $200 a day.

not the OP
i rent a 80 foot trailer version that is also self driving (with external electricity supply like a generator) for 350$ / 12h a few times a year.
OP confirmed homosexual

Hicks can't help but "one up" someone elses deal.
After watching this guy make his own telescoping crane I'm wondering if you could make a cheap cherrypicker this way
What was the word for telescopeing before the telescope existed?
pokey-outey, I believe
Elongating you mouthbreathers.
this is the coolest thing ive seen all day thanks
Frick yeah. Some weekends I rent a mini digger just to ride around on.
mfw I realize this would be more fun and cheaper than some of the ways I spend my weekends
Jesus H Christ the cosplay singularity is upon us.
