Painting my parents house. They micromanage and ape out at my small mistakes. Im just very clumsy

That's easy. Tape, tarp, time. Tape everything you don't want painted, tarp the area you are currently in, and take your time

And just remember, you can always go back and cover a missed or thin spot. You can't remove too thick a coat without basically stripping it and redoing a whole section.

        Thin and even, fren

*After it dries, I should specify

You can slop it on wet and you have plenty of time to move it around

          >, you can always go back and cover a missed or thin spot

With some paints yes, but in many cases, exterior and interior, this will look like pure shit under certain normal lighting conditions.

Felt that. I know it's hard but try to ignore their harshness and take it on the chin. Respond as if they delivered good advice, do it in spite of them without displaying frustration. It may take days but they'll start to feel like the butthole.
        Proud of you for trying!

You should learn from any and all experience.
Chimping out on people is a shitty way of conducting work. With that said, learning to have a keen eye for details is a great thing to do.

Dont let their pettiness slow you down, just take the abuse, work hard learning what you want to learn, and youll be better for it in the end.

    >tfw you realize that most of the “pros” you pay to fix your shit have a sub-100 IQ and are hungover and in a rush and don’t give a frick about their job
Honestly for tons of jobs, a determined DIYer with a good Youtube guide will do a better job than a lot of paid professionals. Learned it enough with automotive work, installing 4 out of 7 fasteners may be acceptable to the tech at the Meineke but not for me when I’m working on my brother’s car.

I remember being at a sensitive age watching some hgtv garbage where the premise was to have people DIY a renovation, then have a bunch of “experts” guess how much it cost. If they guessed more than was put in, the DIYer got the difference back. Very stupid show, and the purpose of it was basically to make it seem like you needed a pro for everything and DIY work was shitty and obvious and all that. They very clearly picked people based on their ability to frick it up and very, very rarely someone would get $1-5k for basically finding cheap contractors.
Anyway one episode they had some soft-spoken, soft-handed techie, and he just kind of…did an entire home renovation by himself over the course of several months off of work. Layed thousands of ~penny tiles by hand with spacers. Replaced everything. The lot. Just total meticulousness to the millimeter like a machine. He was almost definitely on adderall or something every day. Instead of having some drama with cymbal noises and contractor bickering, all the home shots were just him hunched over, sometimes with night vision on to be dramatic.
Anyway, they wound up needing to pay him around $120,000 in 2010 money and I think the show got cancelled soon after. I like to think he bankrupted the show with the power of autism.

PrepHole stands for do it yourself, not fix it yourself.
You should sing or jerk off or something. Those are things that a total dumbass can PrepHole with minimal incident and can provide great satisfaction
