Tobacco supply during wartime

I know that the military has the highest percentage of tobacco users. But they also quit putting cigarettes in rations in the 70s.
So how does this work during a real war where you cannot walk into the next PX to buy some dip or cigs?
I mean yeah, ammo, fuel and food are more important. But having lots of deprived tobacco addicts sure is bad for morale and combat effectiveness.
So how does it work out? How, for example, were outposts in Afghanistan supplied and how would that work in an all-out war?

Same as every war. They get shipped in and bought from the local supply.

So that means soldiers still need to buy them?

Yeah? Just like they have to pay for hooch, prostitutes, and fresh food. War never changes

Nicotine is the only thing that keeps you lucid in the shittier jobs of the US military. I knew a dude that lived off of Monster and cigarettes.

It's called buttlegging, not joking look it up. There's a bunch of organized crime in the military, smokes is just more contraband. Smokes and prostitutes is what many paychecks go to.

It’s not that bad, nic withdrawal sucks if you’re bored but in combat it won’t impact you negatively. You’ve just got to find ways to stay busy and mentally engaged for about 3 days and then it’s not even that bad when you’re bored.

It’s harder on people who are mentally ill, like people with personality disorders. Nicotine binds to acetylcholine receptors, which is a neurotransmitter. It can help reset your mental state or bring you back to baseline.

during the first wave of the corona shit, it became really difficult to get tobacco where i serve
as a non smoker the nicotine withdrawal i saw around was kinda amusing, but it really hurt productivity
i got my ass into quarantine during that wave and people there had a ration of a single pack a week
the nicotine withdrawal rage and shit there was hilarious. i would’ve enjoyed it a lot more if i wasn’t really sick

Nicotine withdrawal can be beneficial for fighting abilities.
If you've not experienced it, imagine a slowly building anxiety and frustration that refuses to go away and can quickly put you over your boiling point.

Most forms of tobacco here got fricked over by cigarette companies that purposely made their garbage addictive as hell. Luckily there seems to be a comeback to give genuine tobacco enjoyers a different room from the nicotine stick addicts, but its still a fight nonetheless. Luckily the FDA’s clown asses got shut down from trying to frick over cigars, which is nice.

Depending on your environment, there may be a small shoppette in your location. If ya have one, grab all you can.

If you aren't lucky enough to get your fix, you buy from your battle buddies for a ridiculous price (I've seen a normal Gatorade sell for $37 before)

I try and frick with the scalpers when I can. I bulk order Monster energy drinks before going to the field and sell for $3.00 a piece because everybody else sells for $5+ because the price gouging pisses me off

Chew nicotine gum instead. Same energy, fresher breath, stronger jaw line from all that chewing.

Smoking and vaping frick up your VO2Max and no one who wants to survive wants to frick that up. You spend all that time getting your cardio fitness up in basic just to ruin it with homosexual sticks? No thanks

That's why me and the crew of my SPG had an iron rule: One carton of cigarettes per crewmember always stored in the vehicle as an emergency ration - even for nonsmokers. In practice we had them vacuum packed so they didn't get dry (even factory sealed ones dry out within a few months).

I'm actually trying to quit smoking right now. I've been chewing the smallest ammount of nic gum I can and plan on staying blackout drunk during the entire first 48 hours of the withdrawal. I smoke a pack a day one every hour. Not even a day in. Feel chills but Alcohol is suppressing most of the depression. Rather bad headache. I am still expected to do intensive physical labor at work. I haven't smoked long (less than a year) so I'm hoping I can escape the risk of cancer. When the alcohol runs out I'm switching to over the counter medicines you can get high from legally. (not saying which ones). Most would call that unorthodox but it will sedate me long enough to sleep through it or be too weak to buy more cigarettes

This is a strange feeling but I've experienced other withdrawls before and unless the WD makes me hallucinate and shake/vomit/shit uncontrollably or make my legs feel like they have pins sewn in them or give me weird electrical zaps in my brain while making me
cry for no reason I should be okay, I hope

Fricking c**ts won't let me take
time off to ride this out. Only saving grace is only started smoking to fit in with my chainsmoking peers and am
physically dependant but I never really "vibed" with the headspace so beyond physical sickness there wasn't a
    lot of dopamine renforcement.

No bad cough or long term effects. Like I said with your mother if I'm gonna pull out now is the time to cum (I'm compulsively fapping to deal with it)

This isn't flavor country anymore. I can't even imagine what happens to the Nic Salt users once they get to Wayde Boggs Alcohol tier Tobacco usage.

I feel like the only person who started out hard with cigs then tried to quit within this kind of time frame. Feels like a decade of substance abuse crammed into six months.
