>Full Spectrum Warrior
I loved this game.
In regards to Six Days in Fallujah, it just doesn't look different enough from other games in the genre (Ground Branch, Ready or Not, etc.) to justify a purchase in my opinion. The only real draw seems to be the dynamically generated levels.
It looks cool but I really wish tactical shooters would make the battlefields more "lived in," with some Deus Ex style dynamic NPC's that try and sell you shit or recurring neighborhood crackhead types. Since the Tom Clancy golden era, to this day, every single mil/tactical game like this is a sterile shoot house with T's either rushing you or waiting to be killed, and no other life except for the odd hostage or *dont shoot* civilian. I wanna feel like I'm the new bad cop in the neighborhood, cussing back and forth with the gangbangers until I can scrounge up enough HUMINT to raid their ass and send em to GITMO.
I guess more of what I was trying to get as was implication of a larger world thats not just a large map with random spawns of enemies and some possible friendlies. The previews looked cool but it seemed like just a giant random Squad server with bots (and really good atmosphere.) I just played thru SOG Prarie Fire (another gameified vets account) and it felt like a Ghost Recon 1 map with super wooden objectives and radio updates
contd. like they could make intricately scripted encounters with insurgents, like some sniper puzzles, a couple well made building sieges that werent just "hoard mode, " or some unarmed insurgent lookouts accidentally stumbling up on them. Something

Im the lead dev of Fricking Your Mom its a old school video clip adventure game
looks and sounds good, voice chat in particular is mixed into the game sound very well.
Haven't played it but it looks like old insurgency PVE in that you got to be really coordinated with everyone else and keep your head on a swivel or else some butthole will run around the house your end and shoot you all in the ass, so it seems like they're doing a good job of trying to capture that feel of being both confined and exposed at the same time.
The one mission I've seen also has a sniper in a minaret which complicates things.
>The one mission I've seen also has a sniper in a minaret which complicates things.
That one is more complicated by the apartment full of insurgents that is then swarmed. The sniper only matters with the balcony and staircase and initial move to the apartment. It's easier than the VBIED convoy mission.
Squad is doing a play test for an infantry overhaul. Point shooting is in the playtest and it's great, along with suppression being a real threat now, PiP scopes, firefights taking much longer, and players no longer able to sprint long distances and ninja their way up buildings. I got done playing the playtest a few hours ago and it was fricking great; it finally feels more inline with project reality with better shooting.
Oh yeah Squad has gotten good, but body armor really needs to be modeled correctly, if I'm going to move like a turtle with arthritis I better be able to take 3-5 rounds in the chest. If you don't take armor you move faster and tire slower but can only take 1-2 rounds in the chest.
The thing with Six days in Fallujah is it was only interesting when it was fresh. Remember it was hot on the tail of COD4, modern warfare was a newly tapped genre that had previously only been the purview of BF2, ubisoft tactical shooters and niche novalogic games. Its not 2009 anymore, we've had 3 insurgency games, the COD series has run GWOT shit into the ground, as did MOH, Battlefield, squad and arma 2, as well as a bunch of mods that fill the niche. I hope it does well for the sake of the devs, but it doesn't look interesting anymore, since it was beaten to the punch on so many counts over the last 15 years.
They pretty much dropped the pretense of it being this 'prestige shooter' at some point. It's just another tactical shooter dropped in at the moment where the genre is already oversaturated. Though is suppose the only selling point it got was the controversy and the 'based from true story' angle.

Wasn't the original premise and USP being similar to Stalker, with events and AI doing stuff around the city wether the player was there or not.
Maybe, probably was because back then devs actually cared about making good games.
These turbogays who made this sloppy insurgency clone should honestly kill themselves.
WOW ANOTHER GWOT HARDCORE FPS!!!
If you're gonna rip someone off maybe make the game something actually fun, i was hoping for a thrid person squad based shooter and instead I get another snoozefest because every zoomer and his mom wants to run their epic and cool GWOT stuff.
Anyone who bought this game should consider refunding and then jumping head first off a cliff.
I played it last night w 2 of my buddies. We had a blast. It's super rough around the edges but it does a lot of things well, the audio especially is great. It's late so I'm not going to type out a paragraph but I highly recommend. My buddies and I were grunts in the marines and I think that added to our enjoyment. If I was a never served looking for the next shooter game, I don't think this would fit the bill.
>everything muddy and brown >modern military shooter >set in some west asian craphole fighting insurgents
this is some time capsule to about 10 years ago
why would anyone play this?
obviously the battle was a specific time and place
but lets not pretend that the 2010s was when the public appetite for brown-tinted military shooters was at its peak due to modern warfare
all WW2 shooters by necessity take place in some WW2 battle, but the 90s and 00s WW2 shooter craze meant all of them tried to ripoff saving pvt ryan
and most 2010s modern shooters are brown-tinted and drab shooters
nobody told the developers that this type of game isnt very good and that they are a little late to the party to try and cash in on it
I'm 27 and still seethe. Halo for life homosexual retatd normie frick. You're too stupid to play halo you need guns on rails like a moronic homosexual.
>mechanics halo invented/made popular >regenerating shields >2 gun limit >quick melee and quick grenade >end result: a lot experimentation in gunplay as you are forced to scavenge for new guns, very smooth firefights because you can combo grenade throws and melee in between shooting, level design now tied to finding cover to regenerate health instead of being how many healthpacks can be scattered in the map
>mechanics invented/popularized by CoD >aim down the sights >barbie doll guns
i guess if you like more slow, aim-centric gameplay then being forced to make tradeoffs between mobility and accuracy suits that game

i had both since halo 2 but separate friend groups on either system, which was basically the only reason i kept playing on the xbox after the xb1 came out
This is a game from 2009. They aren't late to the party, they were there from the start and got stuck in development hell for a decade. Its the Duke Nukem Forever of military shooters. I don't dispute that the setting and style is cliche at this point, but saying its bad because it uses conventions that were not yet overdone when it was originally slated for release is silly.
I want to like it but it needs updates. It's doing some weird shit with my PC and not utilizing my GPU to its fullest so it's running like shit while forcing some shit resolution like 900p. Also the sensitivity is slow and floaty which feels like shit when you're clearing rooms and could be dropped from numerous corners.
I wish it had a mag check for remaining rounds. In real life your 30 round mag doesn't auto refill when you shoot 10 and load a new one. you still have 20 in it in your pouch.
Isnt it just squad with bots set in a small fallujah? What's the hype all about? Are people really screaming over this game simply because of the realistic audio? You could just fricking mod a game for that for free. You're going to buy a whole game just for the audio. Fricking autists
Anon, the game is set during the SECOND battle of Fallujah where 95 Americans were killed with another 560 casualties. When you consider the amount of insurgents and massive technological/numbers overmatch the coalition had over them thats a pretty substantial casualty list.
the homosexual playing has no style whatsoever, just sprints around shooting at shit like it's a COD game and doesn't even utilize the squad command feature in the game.

Lol. I remember reading about it in late 2000s. Wasn't it supposed to be like Full Spectrum Warrior? Or at least TPP?
it just came out like 2 days ago
It was supposed to be released in 2009, but after controversy the publishers kept resigning.
Lol i was excited for this back in the day, then it just disappeared and i forgot about it. you just unlocked some memories.

Fallujah was evacuated up to 90% of the population. The chances of running across civilians was pretty slim

Squad really needs the aiming technique where you aim with the front post.
Trying doing CQB in Squad with an ACOG
Squad is doing a play test for an infantry overhaul. Point shooting is in the playtest and it's great, along with suppression being a real threat now, PiP scopes, firefights taking much longer, and players no longer able to sprint long distances and ninja their way up buildings. Feels good, bro
>can't point shoot from the hip
>mouse sensitivity is garbage slow
Other than that it's pretty hardcore, EFT AI hardcore, borderline hacks
