Thoughts on people building these little offgrid cabins?

Thoughts on people building these little offgrid cabins? I mean I get the appeal but could you feasibly maintain something like this in an apocalypse?

Youtube suggests these things to me all the time and I'm guilty of watching them but it always goes on in the background.

This looks like a no-nonsense house made with simple hand tools. It looks comfortable, well-made, and simple. I think it's important to demonstrate that anyone can build a dwelling using inexpensive hand tools unlike a lot of glamor-steaders with daddy's money.

I often think about these two. I'm very well skilled with the chainsaw and using hand tools like bark spuds to peel logs, log dogs to moving around and fitting them together. But my problem would be some butthole would come along and just wreck it squatted it for weeks and burn it down.

I wouldn't do it log cabin though with logs cross cut together and fitted. Too heavy for one person. A timber frame is almost doable but the problem is the roof. If you're going to do it in true outdoor fashion you'd use a split shingle roof and that is very time consuming. You need an Alaskan meal and all that stuff and I'd rather have metal roofing

I think people often make the mistake of focusing on housing first. In reality, picking a location and housing type should be the last step in the plan. Getting yourself on a good financial footing is paramount but because it isn't sexy/fun/instaworthy, people ignore it

Good financial footing... For the apocalypse?

        Yeah.
You’ll more than likely lose your job Or otherwise be forced off your land way ahead of shit actually hitting the fan if you have a mortgage.

Stop living in a fantasy, the apocalypse isn't going to come to rescue you from your shitty life

What do you mean? A well made log cabin will be there 100 years later.
And if you build it in a suitable location it will be far more preferable to living in a city even without some homosexual apocalypse.

I'm tired of frick face city burnouts moving to the woods, cutting down a bunch of trees, making a larp cabin 10x larger than it needs to be out of inferior (boomer tier) building methods just to take larp as off grid dwellers.
Most of the time they're liberal c**ts escaping a city that they helped to destroy--to move into the woods--which they than also destroy.

My bad, you're a fat female. The lack of self awareness demonstrated by brown people and females can be hard to distinguish sometimes.

Tell me more about how you leveled twelve acres so you can have a farm in the middle of a lowland rainforest.

Ah, it's the "I fantasize I'm talking to women on PrepHole cause I can't in real life" kid again.
We talked about this kiddo, while it's morally wrong to expect a woman to take your defective seed, if you go out and socialize you can learn to control your creepyness to some level.

1 in 3 men in nyc are millionaires vs 1 in 5 in the usa overall. GDP per capita is $450k in manhattan, average studio is $450k, 1br is $800k, even surviving there in your 20s will set you up with the ability to buy 10-20 acres and build a larp cabin with enough leftover to invest in a dividend portfolio to cover their expenses forever

old gay here. I bought a few acres and built myself a cabin (more thoreau than log cabin) when I dropped out of college. Lived in it for 7 years whilst working and saving money to buy a normal house for cash in the suburbs. It was overall a good experience but living in one sucks in comparison to modern life but you would get used to it. Not something I would ever want to do again, but I was able to save almost all of my paycheck. It would probably be easier now that you all have cell phones and computers for entertainment. I would just shit and shower at the ymca for those wondering. In terms of feasibily maintaining something like that in an apocalypse? It would be easier than a modern house surely, though an apocalypse is pretty much impossible to ever happen
