There are no "solid deals" in firearms for less than $450 unless it's a PSA lower.

I can build an AR or AK from parts for like 300 or 400. The margins on firearms are ridiculous, it's easy to get ripped off.

definitely not true. just because you buy everything at the prices your fudd LGS sets doesn’t mean great deals don’t exist

SDS unfortunately stopped importing the lynx which was the only one with decent quality.

      >stopped importing the lynx

      Why

The Lynx-12 is supposed to be alright. I have one and I've only put five rounds through the thing though so I don't know.

from what I understand, some are actually good. the lynx 12, vp12, and s12 from SDS are the best, apparently they’re made in a factory that works closely with Norinco. but they’ve basically stopped importing them now so if you want one now’s your chance.

still don’t think they touch a candle to a real pump-action or a benelli m4, but they aren’t turkshit either. at least not the ones I mentioned

No, a Benelli M2/M4 will be far more reliable, the Chinese Saiga clones are picky on ammo and don’t cycle low pressure reliably.

Hit or miss because of quality control. If you're willing to work at it and getting things working properly they typically are fine.

Like possibly polishing stuff, maybe going at it with a file depending on your luck.

Was going to get aLynx 12 but after watching Nut n Fancy's video on it I decided against it. To sum up what he said about the gun is:
    >This will make a great DOVE GUN!

    Good buy for $300 - I bought 2.

    Pros:
The gas system works as designed - some Saigas weren't drill out correctly.
Eats everything, even weak, low-brass bird shot.
Variety of mags, only issue are the 20's, they get heavy and throw off the balance.

    Cons:
    The furniture is terrible.
Trigger needed to be upgraded - a few companies do them and it helps.
Select felt like soft steel which will need to be addressed.

    Meh:
Bead sight - works okay? I've it everything I've aimed at, even clays.
Might need to do the Iraqi style reload to get a fully loaded magazine in.

You must be new. Eventually you learn these "deals" seldom work out and often turn into a "project gun."

I bought a VP12 last week. Going to work on designing up brackets to strap AK handguards to it because the guys who used to make them went out of business

They really aren’t the Turkshit everyone thinks they are. It’s a slightly worse quality Saiga clone.
