I'd really love to try something like this, and I have a spot in mind. but I don't really have the confidence to go straight in to tunneling. I think i would probably just do an open pit excavation, but cover it up with an earthen ceiling, then build the main internal structure out of cinderblocks, reinforce it with rebar and extra concrete, and then try tunneling out from there
