Thoughts?
I often hear criticisms about this gun but it seems like one of the best as long as it was properly maintained and the user knew how to use it.

I've always wanted one of the 22lr versions but the current company has shit customer service so frick 'em I cancelled my order

more ergonomic and aesthetic than a glock will ever be. Better accuracy too out of the box
GDS
I agree, the design would allow for more maneuverability in a tactical situation and the high capacity mag doesn't interfere with the operation compared to an extended or drum mag on a glock.
While true, being better than a glock with a drum mag isn't all that meaningful. In what situation would you choose either? A normal glock could be concealed or easily carried in a normal duty holster. But with a drum mag? Or this thing? Now it's much too bulky to conceal or wear on your hip/leg conveniently. And if you're going to be stepping up to a larger class of weapon that you might carry with a sling or with both hands, why would you pick this over something like a subgun or an SBR? At the very least pick something with a stock, folding or otherwise.
I respect your opinion but a stock wouldn't necessary for me, I workout often so I could just use my forearm strength to stabilize the aim, same thing with the sight my spacial awareness is extremely good so I wouldn't need one.
Wow, an actual superhero!
Did you get your powers from some kind of nuclear radiation incident? An ancient mystical artifact? Or were you born with them?
Anyone can do the same my good friend, at the end of the day it's muscle memory, if you spend enough hours at the range eventually your aim becomes automatic to where a sight isn't necessary dedication is all you need.
>at the end of the day it's muscle memory
No, it's geometry.
3 points of contact versus one.
Go away you ignorant cod obsessed child
Isn't call of duty all about putting the most ridiculous attachments possible on a gun?
I'm on some Revolutionary War shit the founding fathers didn't need sights so why should I?
Seems irrelevant, and it doesn't offer anything other (similar) guns don't. It's mostly just remembered because it looks like a space gun.
>shrug from me.
All my life I thought this gun was made by Kel-Tec
It's not?
Even if the awb didn't ruin this dude's career I don't see how the calico would have been anything other than a novelty.
I had one years ago. The biggest complaint I ever heard had to do with feeding issues, but IMHO that was morons not reading the fricking manual and failing to wind the mags correctly. Mine fed reliably. But no, it's not the "best" at anything except having meme capacity. It's ergos are pretty crappy, it feels like a toy in your hand (especially since the mag doesn't latch all that securely on top), the balance is terrible, so are the sights. Trigger wasn't terrible but it certainly wasn't great.
Do they even make guns still? Their website is old as frick and I don't think I've seen a newly produced one in many a year.
I always liked their aesthetic.
Mine was the second rifle I ever bought. It came to me broken. The bolt head had sheared and it was missing a roller. I got a new bolt head from calico (around 2015), and repaired it. The thing ran pretty well for a range toy, maybe one malfunction every 150-200 rounds. It was an accurate shooter, I used to plink saw blades set in the dirt 175 yards away with it. Unfortunately the rear sight is on the mag, so there is a POI shift after every reload. The mags are sensitive to being underwound, but unfortunately they're sensative to being overwound as well. When they overwind you have to disassemble the whole thing and reassemble it which is a b***h. A couple years ago the striker broke. I've been unable to get another one, and while nominally Calico is in business they don't ship orders. Buddy of mine is still waiting after 18 months to get stuff he's ordered. They won't refund.
If you want one as a range toy I'd suggest getting a pre '94 AWB model, the M951. They tend to be more reliable than the Liberty post ban series. Unfortunately both have parts breakage issues. as anything more than a range toy though I'd say hard pass. It's cool gun with some neat features, plagued by a couple design flaws, lots of QC flaws, and no product support.
wow, are you future me? cause those 4 guns are all on my list to have as mains.
Thank you for the knowledge, which FN Herstal is that?
>young people don't recognize the FS2000 anymore
>Unfortunately the rear sight is on the mag, so there is a POI shift after every reload.
This, the sights are comically designed.
>getting a pre '94 AWB model
I lucked into buying mine from a boomer friend. A friend of his bought it for his wife for home defense. No recoil .22 + 100 round mag was his thinking.
?t=238
All I know is Big liked ‘em
the Calico would be good with the short barrel, the stock, and in full auto
also I guess if the mags worked
