To show off the tech they did do various disguises to show how flexible the thermal disguise system is. Like, it's all digital, it can be whatever, you can make it look like a sleeping cow or something too. That's probably not how it'd ever be used though even putting aside the laws of war because tanks are front line units in combat and their mere actions thus reveal they're not a heard of cattle or a sports car or whatever. Tanks aren't used solo by competent armies though so the idea is just to mix up and try to raise the odds that the wrong weapons get used on them.
