You may have a fake eotech. Does your optic pass the smear test?
I have a conterfeit eotech that passes all 3 tests. Bought it for 50 euro and does not hold zero on a 8mm rifle but works great on my 10/22

I see this all the time on boomer forums/arfcom..every product apparently has exactly one "the counterfeit" version to worry about.
And whenever they find one of the 99 other variants they double down by claiming "the counterfeiters have updated their knockoff"
I never understood what flavor of denial/cope warrants it.
Does your camera have astigmatism too? You mouth breathing Black person. The reticle doesn’t not look solid, seeing the dot matrix is normal. If it’s blurry that’s people and their b***h tism eyes.
yeah and constricting your pupils is a way to cope with being nearsighted. You can make a small hole with your fingers and look through it as makeshift glasses because it reduces the amt of light incoming
You’re not supposed to look at holographic reticles. You’re supposed to look through it with both eyes open and let it “float in space.” I find it’s easier for me on the UH-1 because of the larger sight window. The reticle is also more crisp for my autism eyes. But, the magnifier completely eliminates all autism. Shit looks cash af fr fr on god no cap.
i don't know why people are acting like EOTechs aren't filled with little flakes but that's just the way they are. there isn't anything wrong with your eyes. their shape is literally defined by hundreds of specs of light
its a holographic sight not a projected red dot. they are grainy by design. but you shouldnt be looking at the reticle anyway, when you look at your target the reticle will blur together, the graininess doesnt matter
So eotech is the new favorite ?

Eotech + magnifier is still top of the game, even without nods. Nothing comes close. All those aimpoint shills have to point out some obscure country in which some police force uses aimpoint in a duty capacity, while eotech is on every nato and on monke death squad rifle. Even after they superfricked their customers they came back, because there is no better optic.
>shake awake
meme invented by leupold in the late 90s and then dropped because everyone realized it was a joke, then adopted by holochang so that sexless contrarians on PrepHole could say the chinese are "based" and "innovative"
the 509t is based off of Steiner's MRDS, so you can say that holosun's 509t is fricking GERMAN MASTER ENGINEERING! The ACRO on the other hand is pure chinkshit!
eokek+magnifier is as heavy as an elcan with worse magnification, worse glass, worse eye relief and eye box, worse durability and worse battery life. you will save like $400 though.
eokek+magnifier is as heavy as an elcan, except you don't have a shitty 1x and can take off the magnifier at night-time for easy passive aiming with NODs .
I can only assume most people in here never used their sights to shoot at all. Eotech + Mag is leagues better than every other optic out there for most applications.
The only exception is probably straight home defense for the type of scenario that someone made it into your bedroom and starts blasting without you having time to turn your dot on. In this case an aimpoint might be the better choice.
Everything else eotech is absolute king for any real application.
The quad rail is outdated. You need to swap to MLOK to save wait.

It won the UKSF trials over the hk416 in this exact configuration, it’s used by swat teams all over the country, DEA, other military agencies, Delta Force, etc. So yeah it’s just a range toy.

You are clearly missing the point of the statement I made which was that it rings 10 inch plates at any distance up to 300m with a center hold. Meaning I don’t have to adjust for or remember holds. The rifle is capable of making shots out to 600 if you adjust for elevation.

It’s not my hd gun anyway. My Glock 19 is. Maybe when I put the can on it, but still easier to grab a pistol.
>UH-1 is superior, though.
Not for passive aiming under nods it isn't. The reticle tends to smear pretty bad due to a slower refresh rate vs. the eotech. It's not a bad optic by any means, but it's not superior to the Eotech.
I desperately need to find one at a store before I buy, if it really looks like that that's unuseable. on another topic >tfw my new magnifier can't hold zero and I probably need to rma it
>I will absolutely be in situations where I'm fighting in 180f and -40f at any given moment, especially the temperature fluctuating between the two within the same day
no, no it isn't
Its grainy because the reticle is made up of hundreds and hundreds of individual dots from a laser diode to create a hologram (hence the battery life vs LED). Holosun uses an LED
I said it rings steel at 25 to 300 with a center hold. That means my zero is good for any combat range with a center hold. It is submoa accurate with match ammunition (which is what I run) and has about a 6 inch deviation in point of impact at any range from 25 to 300 yards. After 300 it drops out significantly, but that’s just how 5.56 performs from an 11 inch barrel. This is the exact way guys on the teams zero their rifles.
Sub 25m there is a chevron on the bottom of the uh-1 reticle that accounts for height over bore. Place that chevron on your intended point of impact and you’re golden. Basically, I can make headshots and a zone hits with my rifle at any combat effective range without adjusting my point of aim (except for close range which I’d have to account for height over bore.) so many noguns / newguns itt
if u go on the gun deals subreddit and go on one of those threads where they are like message for price u can get $50-60 off the holosun base price. i got my 510c on there for like $250 new with free shipping and no tax. cant beat it
Seething and coping because you don’t have a 5000 dollar piston rifle.
... Nobody tell him how holograms work, it's funnier this way.
Yeah it’s pretty laughable. The biggest advantage for holographic sights is that the reticle doesn’t change under magnification, and it’s more effective under passive aiming with night vision.
Again, you’re missing the point. On the outside it may look like a typical short barreled AR.. but there are some key differences
>nicor treated cold hammer forged 40v50 11 inch hbar profile barrel
More durable, submoa accuracy, more corrosion resistant than chrome lining, barrel will last longer without overheating in after extended firing, permanently lubricious, does not flake or deteriorate like chrome lining, expected barrel life of 80,000 rounds >nicor treated gas piston
Permanently lubricious, more corrosion resistant than chrome plating, threaded gas port that self cleans and forces fouling out as the action cycles. No fouling deposited into chamber or fire control group like a direct impingement (it’s just a rod that forces the bcg to cycle under recoil.) no gas blow back in your face under suppression. More durable under extended firing than a direct impingement gas tube which can melt or break. More durable under extreme adverse conditions like salt water or mud. Operating system works better in subzero and high heat temperatures. >nickel boron bcg
Better lubricity and corrosion resistance than mil spec >quad rail
Stronger and holds zero better than mlok rails especially bendy bill
My upper was part of a department order. So it was paid special attention to quality control wise, and has a super low round count. There are many other reasons why it’s superior to le Anderson / psa but you will find justasgooder reasons to cope, seethe and dilate.
You kind of need a million words when there’s that much of a difference between rifles.

Also eotechs have Chinese parts post 2018 after the L3 buyout (when they changed the logo). They also come factory rusted now. G33 is still 100% American made. Eotech warranty also sucks major balls.
> Also eotechs have Chinese parts post 2018 after the L3 buyout (when they changed the logo)

even my basic b***h 512 was immaculate out of the box in 2021, and despite the brutal gulf coast air rusting everything, its still perfect
my combat veteran special forces friend swears by them so you'll have to forgive me if I'm gonna take his word over a bunch of uncredentialed anons who are probably never-served who've never fired a weapon in combat
Euro optic is blowing out the 512 for $375. While Id normally say get an aimpoint, the eotech is pretty awesome at that price. I have one on my saiga 9.
I’d say its a great optic for 99% of any scenario a civilian would find themself in. Id usually recommend and aimpoint for the battery life but I like the reticle and the eotechs window for close range. I’d bet a lot of the bad reputation eotech has is from counterfeits. The thermal drift and parasitic battery drain arnt bad at all. The battery isn’t even that bad compared to many options out there, especially since holosun and shit say their battery life is what it is at a level you cant even use in mid day sunlight.
You can buy the EXPS 3 new in box for 520 shipped from a guy on tacswap in Illinois. You can find used ones in the 4-500 dollar range all day. Do not buy a 512. The batteries have issues with losing contact under recoil and there’s basically no way to fix it.
I have never experienced that and I have had mine for 2 years on a 9mm carbine. Its a fun gun for me. For my serious guns I have an elcan and aim points. Good to know though.
I mean that’s why they originally redesigned for the cr123 in the xps / EXPS. The main difference between the two being the button placement and absolute vs lower 1/3 cowitness. But yeah they’ve come down enough you can buy them cheap. Dealers on Tacswap advertise cheaper than MAP.
>The batteries have issues with losing contact under recoil and there’s basically no way to fix it
under very heavy recoil, and only during low battery life, an issue I never noticed nor ever heard anyone complain about
(me)
I meant to say the thermal drift and parasitic battery drain have been fixed. Personally, I never experienced it and I live somewhere it can get up to 110 in the summer and -30 in the winter, but I have mine on a sub gun and the eotech is more accurate than the gun. Still anyone I hand it to can usually shot a one hole group from a whole mag the circumference of a soda can at 100ft

I like it enough I bought 2. Taking AAs is nice because you probably already have them and won't ever not. Circle dots kick ass. One look and I was in love.
Also 512s are on sale for less than $400 at PSA right now.
I want to pick up an eotech for my AK despite my tism. Need to find one to try out in real life to see how bad it would be. My Aimpoint M4 I see a solid dot and then what I can describe as a small burst off to the left.
I have slight astigmatism where red dots looks like a little symmetrical star. Same with traffic lights at night. It hasnt really affected my use of red dots. I find my eotech is a little crisper in my vision than typical red dots. So if your astigmatism isn’t bad, it might seem slightly better with an eotech.
I love mine. And $600 isn’t a lot of money for me so the difference between a $300 optic and a $600 optic is almost zero. So if anything under a grand is a >*shrugs* “why not? kind of scenario for you, i say go for it.
>Same with traffic lights
The odd thing is that the only thing that is impacted for me are red dots as far as I am aware. No issues I have noticed with traffic lights, no isues with reading text being blurry that I can tell.
u have to manually turn it on though which u might not have time to do or hard to do in a high stress situation. the holosun comes on automatically when u pick it up and goes off automatically so u dont forget to turn the battery off and its dead when u need it
>manually turn it on
If you're in that situation you don't turn it off, moron. >Oh hold on, let me turn on my holo sight before we begin this gun battle >Oh hold on, let me shake my holo sight awake before we begin this gun battle
I get starbursting with red dots but not with holographics.
[...]
Yes.
[...]
I don't find that argument particularly compelling because it's extremely obvious if your optic is on or not because there either will or won't be a humongous glowing red circle in it. Also eotechs have auto-off.
If you cant push a button once the moment you pick up your gun, i doubt your ability to flick a safety selector or depress a magazine release. It’s second nature when I pick up my gun that I turn on the optic now. And my red dot doesn’t turn on when it’s in the gun case in the car. Shake awake is really great for carry pistols but for rifle optics whats the point?
Admittedly the 'shake' is more like 'I picked up my rifle' and the optic is on. If they could make the EXPS4 have better battery life (either CR123 replacement or emitter tech) and an optional move-awake system, I would never deviate from it ever. But I like my EXPS3-2 for my HD gun and it's not given me much trouble.
Eotech needs to fricking stick a 5000mah battery or something, it's been two decades and their shit is still the same as if it was still the 90s. Frick man when will their patent run out so Horochad can improve on the design by leaps and bound in less than a year?

Woah look out, best optic coming through >Extremely crisp and clear reticle unlike fuzzy eotechs >Multiple reticle options >Extreme battery life >Massive viewing window for quick target acquisition
I like my EOTECH too and for military use I think they're reasonable since everything gets beat to shit and they feel near unbreakable. But for normal civilian use and home defense the Holosun 510 is better
one issue i have with holosun is that the "low" settings aren't low enough and bloom like a motherfricker under nods when trying to do passive aiming. even the romeo 7t is too bright under nods. i don't even have mega nods just 31snr
I'm lucky that my lasik largely abated my astigmatism, best money I have spent in my life so far. Red dots before were nearly unusable, the eotech was the same (pixilated). Now I really have to look for the effects of the astigmatism to see them.
Though there are still 'some' red dots that can work. Sadly holosun had several optics that were crispy clean before the surgery, but I'd sooner shoot with irons than buy those. The CompM5 was surprisingly clean, probably due to the new smaller emitter diode?
I sold all of mine after trying a horosun 515. Lighter, t2 footprint, longer battery, similar reticle, and looks better to my eyes. Still keeping eotech magnifiers because they're great. If aimpoint made an optic with an eotech-style reticle I'd probably get it.
>NOOOO I HAVE TO PUSH 1 BUTTON TO TURN MY OPTIC ON NOOOOOOO
I get the same battery lifespan on my eotech as I do my aimpoints. eotechs auto turn off, aimpoints are always on. I go shooting twice a month sometimes more. both my batts last like 2 years. They're equal. >always on optics are better.
yes. but usually im having to adjust the brightness on my aimpoint anyways. so either way im fricking with my optic. they're equal.
such a non issue. and eotechs have that big clear window with superb light transmission. this thread makes me yawn.
I leave my aimpoints and holosun on the second highest brightness to be effective and ready in low light scenarios, my eotech on the other hand dies before it's auto shut off kicks in.
Not that anon, but im stuck with a green first gen MRO, but after they "fixed" it, not one of the older serial numbers. Is there a way to work around the parallax issue? As long as it works on 50-100 yards on man size targets, its fine on the upper its on. I can't waste money on the particular setup for now. Im seem to be making hits on medium size steel plates at 100 yards just fine, obviously this may not transfer to real world use if our moving around alot. Anyways, just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this.
i guess what I am asking, is the MRO so bad that it would be better to use just buis than the MRO itself if you only needed to use that particular rifle for 100 yards and in, and there was no other option...
I had an mro for a couple years. It was durable and I never had issues with parallax but the slight magnification made shooting with both eyes open past 50 yards really annoying. The way the images from each of your eyes didn't quite line up was irritating and made you have to close your other eye, which kind of defeats the purpose of a red dot if you're using it for anything past cqb distances. That was fine for me because I was using it for HD but I finally upgraded to a t2 a couple months back and haven't regretted it one bit. True 1x is so nice.
thanks anon. I will get a t2 eventually as well, I just don't have the money at the moment. I'm just not going to worry about it. It's working well enough and is better than nothing, and between your experience and how its working on my rifle its good enough for the time being despite any shortcomings. Thanks again
wow, cant believe this thread is still up. 9/10 of the gays crying about nvg use do not have nods btw. this is an optic that makes sells off of video games and people who want to think they are just like SFgays
i genuinely do not give a shit about brands at all, i really just think this is an optic that needs improvements but is impossible to achieve because people still buy it as is since the cool government agencies still buy them.
why do aimpoint gays quote the marketing battery life for their Gay2 optic? It's well known that on a setting bright enough to see in the day time the actual battery life is usually 10-12 months. That's still good but it's not fifty thousand hours.
proof?
Kek you don’t need “proof” to validate an opinion
Weird way to say you don't have Nods OP but ok
people say the selling point is use under nvg, a t2 is more than than capable and doesnt come with all the baggage
The t2 is a tiny tube.

Are they supposed to be this way? Am I moronic? What is even real anymore?
it's slightly fuzzy for me, it means you're nearsighted or have the tism' - stigmatism that is
>tfw near sighted have an astigmatism
It still looks fine at lower brightnesses at least
Is there any way to know you have the tism before looking through an optic you ordered online?
Like, can you tell from looking at street lights and seeing if they starburst or something?
You could go to an eye doctor.
Have you tried just going to an lgs that has the optic you're looking for? That's what I did before I ordered my 512. Also if you see this shit.
>Hello sir can I see through all your optics?
>Uh, I want to see the dot, please put a battery in first.
>Okay thanks for all that.
>I'm gonna go order this optic online now.
>Go frick yourself lol.
kek I try on shoes in the store and walk out and then search for a pair second hand on facebook marketplace
Go to a store and just ask to see some optics
Either way, it's probably not going to stop you from using a red dot unless it's really really bad
Really? That makes sense. My eyesight is kinda shit.
I have an hs510c that seemed to have a clearer recital. Chinese bug magic I guess.
That's just how shitty Eotech's reticles are, if it ain't fuzzy or blurry then it's a fricking chink knockoff.
wrong moron, get glasses. I'm being serious.
not him but theyre supposed to be slightly blurry, tahts how eotech designed it, youre a tard
Yes, Eotechs were carefully and meticulously designed to be blurry and fuzzy. Those not in the know are morons
It's a hologram, not a projected dot. As soon as you focus on the target, the hologram will sharpen.
Lol fricking cope af! Now imagine if someone did that to a projected led reticle it'll be so sharp it'll blind mofos.
Sure.
>t. doesnt know how holosights work
you are an actual fricking moron. Look at the picture I showed. That's EXACTLY how it looks when I wear my astigmatism correcting glasses. You can see it's supposed to look like that on eotech's site
https://nightvisionguys.com/eotech-exps3-2tan-holographic-weapon-sight
You may have a fake eotech. Does your optic pass the smear test?
I have a conterfeit eotech that passes all 3 tests. Bought it for 50 euro and does not hold zero on a 8mm rifle but works great on my 10/22
I see this all the time on boomer forums/arfcom..every product apparently has exactly one "the counterfeit" version to worry about.
And whenever they find one of the 99 other variants they double down by claiming "the counterfeiters have updated their knockoff"
I never understood what flavor of denial/cope warrants it.
Honestly you just need to look at the front glass panel. They always use silver reflective coatings.
Well?
Does your camera have astigmatism too? You mouth breathing Black person. The reticle doesn’t not look solid, seeing the dot matrix is normal. If it’s blurry that’s people and their b***h tism eyes.
My brother in christ, it's time to get your eyes checked.
it means ur eyes are autistic
you homies have astigmatism. get glasses or some other corrective contacts. My Eotech reticle clears up 95% and looks like the advertising pictures.
Do you run nods? Otherwise, why bother?
>you homies have astigmatism
No shit, I literally said that
And you bald homie
Have it and T2. I really prefer T2 over it. It just feels better to use with both eyes open.
Eotechs have reticles made from.a bunch of small dots it's moronic
you don't know how holographic optics work. you're moronic.
Constrict you pupils, or if you're a newbie use the rear ironsight of your AR to look through at your reticle.
yeah and constricting your pupils is a way to cope with being nearsighted.
Shit looks cash af fr fr on god no cap.
yeah i get that, but i think everyone here does
i don't know why people are acting like EOTechs aren't filled with little flakes but that's just the way they are. there isn't anything wrong with your eyes. their shape is literally defined by hundreds of specs of light
... Nobody tell him how holograms work, it's funnier this way.
its a holographic sight not a projected red dot. they are grainy by design. but you shouldnt be looking at the reticle anyway, when you look at your target the reticle will blur together, the graininess doesnt matter
Grainy or full on fuzz?
If grainy but still a tight 68 moa ring with fine dot you’re normal
If always fuzzy and only good when squinting you may have football eyes
dont care + didnt ask + cope + seethe + go tell reddit
Meh. I like mine, I shoot well with it, I enjoy shooting.
In 2022, some anon is still talking about "Eotech" lmao
>not choosing the best optic
>pic related
I'm not buying chinkshit, holoshill
EoTech #1
Ok, get killed in the upcoming psychodelistic boogaloo
>Ok, get killed in the upcoming psychodelistic boogaloo
I would if i were using holoshit
is that literally the only pic anyone can find of a holosun breaking? its the only one i ever see posted
COPE
I know that guy at lucky Gunner had the same exact problem happen to him and he made a video about it
dont buy chink shit but dont buy eotech shit either. trijicon, aimpoint or iron sights
opinion on vortex ?
Why would you ask someone for his opinions of a product, when his opinion on THE optic of almost all special forces in the western world is moronic?
So eotech is the new favorite ?
I will ask you , what is your opinion ?
And if you want b4 24th , ask, will tell you who. But posted in 3 threads for any late anon. Dont want to again without asked so not to look like spam
Need - durable, decent glass, acceptable field of view . Could use shtf, functional
sorry , mixed post up, Need goes back to optics, middle is for DIY Ar
should be
>So eotech is the new favorite ?
>I will ask you , what is your opinion ?
>Need - durable, decent glass, acceptable field of >view . Could use shtf, functional
>And if you want b4 24th , ask, will tell you who. But posted in 3 threads for any late anon. Dont want to again without asked so not to look like spam
being used by government agencies doesn't take away from their faults, maybe one day some idiot on youtube will explain that to you
>trijicon
only some acogs and rdrs
>aimpoint
>swedecucks
nah
nuEoTech is based
I'm cloning glowie-chan's AR so no
Glowie Chan makes me diamonds. The spooks are learning
Eotech + magnifier is still top of the game, even without nods. Nothing comes close. All those aimpoint shills have to point out some obscure country in which some police force uses aimpoint in a duty capacity, while eotech is on every nato and on monke death squad rifle. Even after they superfricked their customers they came back, because there is no better optic.
the batteries dont last long tho and it doesnt have shake awake and its only made from aluminum not titanium
auto shut off after 8 hours and 1000 hour battery life. Resets with a button press.
Please know what you're talking about before you post, thanks.
because holochang uses LEDs not a laser projector
Eotech should make a new model that has shake awake and auto off after 30 minutes. That would maximise the battery life of the optic.
>shake awake
meme invented by leupold in the late 90s and then dropped because everyone realized it was a joke, then adopted by holochang so that sexless contrarians on PrepHole could say the chinese are "based" and "innovative"
the 509t is based off of Steiner's MRDS, so you can say that holosun's 509t is fricking GERMAN MASTER ENGINEERING! The ACRO on the other hand is pure chinkshit!
eokek+magnifier is as heavy as an elcan with worse magnification, worse glass, worse eye relief and eye box, worse durability and worse battery life. you will save like $400 though.
eokek+magnifier is as heavy as an elcan, except you don't have a shitty 1x and can take off the magnifier at night-time for easy passive aiming with NODs .
>t. moron
You don’t need sights to shoot someone 5 yards away with a rifle. UH-1 is superior, though.
Really the magnifier seems redundant.
Seems redundant? Tf? The optic is 1x
Quad rail best rail
No u
None of your business but I’m forming an ambi lower and rc2 for the rifle
How far is your HD gun shooting?
Ringing steel plates from 25-300y with a center hold.
So it's a range toy, got it.
It’s a range toy? Do you even know what you’re looking at? Kek
Obviously better than you, lol.
You don’t. It’s an LWRC M6A2 piston driven upper with a cold hammer forged nicor treated 1:7 barrel. Free floated quad rail, unity riser / flip to center, uh-1, eotech g33 magnifier, Geissele ssa-e trigger, rein 2.0 on sbr mount. It won the UKSF trials over the hk416 in this exact configuration, it’s used by swat teams all over the country, DEA, other military agencies, Delta Force, etc. So yeah it’s just a range toy.
BWAHAHAHAH!
Oh God it's serious
BWAHAHAHAH!!!
Call the atf and tell them their rifles are range toys
>I'm cool like the ATF
Xir, is it your first day here? Are you a masochist?
I never said I liked them. My upper is an actual glowBlack person trade in bought at a government auction. Funny seeing noguns on /k/ tell me it’s a range toy. Same guy probably has a psa freedom 15 with a primary arms prism.
Your range toy is as cool as the ATF. You have no capacity for rational thought and just copy eleet oper8ors because you think it makes you better at anything.
>I can ring steel at 300 meters
Whoa, that's like so far to hit a target with a magnified optic.
Meanwhile any poorgay with the cheapest Anderson/PSA frankengun can do the same thing with irons.
You are clearly missing the point of the statement I made which was that it rings 10 inch plates at any distance up to 300m with a center hold. Meaning I don’t have to adjust for or remember holds. The rifle is capable of making shots out to 600 if you adjust for elevation.
Noguns
It’s not my hd gun anyway. My Glock 19 is. Maybe when I put the can on it, but still easier to grab a pistol.
The quad rail is outdated. You need to swap to MLOK to save wait.
>cuckbrace
>uh-1
>vfg
and you're complaining about the quad rail?
Glow
have a nice day
that shit is disgusting
>UH-1 is superior, though.
Not for passive aiming under nods it isn't. The reticle tends to smear pretty bad due to a slower refresh rate vs. the eotech. It's not a bad optic by any means, but it's not superior to the Eotech.
this except when eyes get tired its worse
I desperately need to find one at a store before I buy, if it really looks like that that's unuseable. on another topic
>tfw my new magnifier can't hold zero and I probably need to rma it
That sucks.
>I will absolutely be in situations where I'm fighting in 180f and -40f at any given moment, especially the temperature fluctuating between the two within the same day
no, no it isn't
My eotech doesn't look blurry per se but it does look "grainy" I guess. Still works fine but not sharp like my holoshit circle dots.
Its grainy because the reticle is made up of hundreds and hundreds of individual dots from a laser diode to create a hologram (hence the battery life vs LED). Holosun uses an LED
>can't switch the mount for QD one
Only thing I hate.
Like Acog but the $, nah
Best 3.5x 4 x below 500, 600 or so ?
Then 45 degree my reflex.
Oh other site is down. due to attack ?
I hate red-dot gays and their moronic min-maxing so much.
Guys someone should tell the SAS that they’re using range toys.
L + ratio + t2 better
Lmao at the new trip getting btfo. Dude I can ring steel at 25 lmfao
>I zeroed my gun
I'm so proud of you.
Within 100m you don't need an optic
outside of 200m you benefit greatly from an optic with zoom
if u go on the gun deals subreddit and go on one of those threads where they are like message for price u can get $50-60 off the holosun base price. i got my 510c on there for like $250 new with free shipping and no tax. cant beat it
This homie got a quad rail on his range toy lmfao. Knuckle dragging simian.
Seething and coping because you don’t have a 5000 dollar piston rifle.
Yeah it’s pretty laughable. The biggest advantage for holographic sights is that the reticle doesn’t change under magnification, and it’s more effective under passive aiming with night vision.
>I bought an oper8or's gun now I'm an oper8or, I can hit a target at three hundred (300!!!!) Meters!
Implessive.
Again, you’re missing the point. On the outside it may look like a typical short barreled AR.. but there are some key differences
>nicor treated cold hammer forged 40v50 11 inch hbar profile barrel
More durable, submoa accuracy, more corrosion resistant than chrome lining, barrel will last longer without overheating in after extended firing, permanently lubricious, does not flake or deteriorate like chrome lining, expected barrel life of 80,000 rounds
>nicor treated gas piston
Permanently lubricious, more corrosion resistant than chrome plating, threaded gas port that self cleans and forces fouling out as the action cycles. No fouling deposited into chamber or fire control group like a direct impingement (it’s just a rod that forces the bcg to cycle under recoil.) no gas blow back in your face under suppression. More durable under extended firing than a direct impingement gas tube which can melt or break. More durable under extreme adverse conditions like salt water or mud. Operating system works better in subzero and high heat temperatures.
>nickel boron bcg
Better lubricity and corrosion resistance than mil spec
>quad rail
Stronger and holds zero better than mlok rails especially bendy bill
My upper was part of a department order. So it was paid special attention to quality control wise, and has a super low round count. There are many other reasons why it’s superior to le Anderson / psa but you will find justasgooder reasons to cope, seethe and dilate.
I don’t know why I said 40v50 I was getting dressed for the doctor and slightly distracted. It’s 41v45
If your truth was self evident you wouldn't need a bajillion words to express it. But instead we get lefty-meme levels of seething.
You kind of need a million words when there’s that much of a difference between rifles.
Nah
50y zero (accounting for 2.27 hob)
>4+moa group
Is this bait?
That’s a 1/4 inch group at 50y (1/2 moa) tf you talking about. They’re separate groups as I was dialing the windage in.
100y confirmation
>3 round group
Does the barrel overheat or are you too poor to afford 5 rounds?
Oh my god you frickers will b***h about anything won’t you. I confirmed the zero and proceeded to confirm on the steel targets out to 300. I’m not there to precision shoot.. the 1moa dot covers the bullseye at that range and the rifle is more accurate than I can be with my optic. It’s a submoa barrel.
Lol dumb ass frick, Holographics do change under magnification. They get away with it because of their 1 MOA dot, put them and a VZOR, a red dot that also uses a 1 MOA and it'll expose that magnification meme with ease LMFAO!
Also post zero homosexual.
EoTechs look cool as frick
Aimpoints sound better on paper but i prefer EoTechs
I will never buy chinkshit and UH-1 is not only ugly but also vaporware
Also frick tripgays but there's nothing wrong with short ARs
Sorry boomer, your musket is obsolete
Jesus, that's nasty.
Ywnbaw
muh dick jesus christ I fricking love athletes
>caring about muh aesthetics this much
you are a mentally effeminate Black person and should not be allowed to own firearms.
ok well you just called out 90% of /k/
Come and take them Black person
More meaty Italian ladies
bruh
You are a man of culture
>gay namegay
>shit opinion
>likely a rich soi boi using mom and dads money based on the house
>has a LWRC upper and eotech magnifier
>still wont get an eotech holo
Like Trex but even more homo
I had an EXPS. I get them for cheaper than the street cost of the uh-1. I have my own career and get paid salary. Not a rich gay though. Middle class.. just spend my money wisely and buy one rifle instead of multiple shit ones.
Also eotechs have Chinese parts post 2018 after the L3 buyout (when they changed the logo). They also come factory rusted now. G33 is still 100% American made. Eotech warranty also sucks major balls.
> Also eotechs have Chinese parts post 2018 after the L3 buyout (when they changed the logo)
gonna need sauce for the spaghetti
>They also come factory rusted now
even my basic b***h 512 was immaculate out of the box in 2021, and despite the brutal gulf coast air rusting everything, its still perfect
Is this homie really bragging about wasting 5 grand on a upper?
The upper wasn’t 5 grand it was 950 used. I’ll have 5500 into the rifle when my forms come back. More when I get a peq and pvs-14.
my combat veteran special forces friend swears by them so you'll have to forgive me if I'm gonna take his word over a bunch of uncredentialed anons who are probably never-served who've never fired a weapon in combat
>I have an elcan
Oh dear. I hear nobody likes those enough to keep them.
Le hop may may. belcans are fine.. outdated but they’re ok.
10 years ago I always wanted a eotech 512 but I was poor. Now I'm not anymore but there are a shitload of new variants. Is thw 512 still viable?
Bummer. I really liked the look of it and wanted to larp as a SAS with my SP5
I have a 512 anon. I like that it takes AA batteries and has better battery life than most other models (double the battery life of xps3)
Mine passes the smear test but still looks kinda flecked. Barely noticeable during actual shooting.
>comp 4
>not the vastly superior comp4s
Why do those c**ts at aimpoint make the M4 still if the M4s is 'vastly superior' ?
Because they're willing to gouge uninformed consoomers. Which is why I will only support Holosun from now on for a red dot.
nice try chang.
Because the M4S is not approved for by some departments or agencies and the M4 is.
i'm a brainlet but why does it have more battery life
because it takes two aa, but the exps uses one cr123?
or does it use less juice
I like it enough I bought 2. Taking AAs is nice because you probably already have them and won't ever not. Circle dots kick ass. One look and I was in love.
Also 512s are on sale for less than $400 at PSA right now.
did they fix the battery issue?
The flicker under recoil? Works on my 590a1 with slugs.
This post is proof that /k/ommandos will b***h and moan about every optic in existence. No matter what you pick it's shit.
Aimpoint is fine. Eotech is fine.
>Oh hold on, let me turn on my holo sight before we begin this gun battle
>Oh hold on, let me shake my holo sight awake before we begin this gun battle
Admittedly the 'shake' is more like 'I picked up my rifle' and the optic is on. If they could make the EXPS4 have better battery life (either CR123 replacement or emitter tech) and an optional move-awake system, I would never deviate from it ever. But I like my EXPS3-2 for my HD gun and it's not given me much trouble.
Eotech needs to fricking stick a 5000mah battery or something, it's been two decades and their shit is still the same as if it was still the 90s. Frick man when will their patent run out so Horochad can improve on the design by leaps and bound in less than a year?
I'm right there with you. But presumably because muh
>L3Harris gubmint contrac
we won't see meaningful development on that front for some time. It's gonna go away some day anyway, either an improved pseudo-VR optic system or just better variable powered hybrid optics.
I get starbursting with red dots but not with holographics.
Yes.
I don't find that argument particularly compelling because it's extremely obvious if your optic is on or not because there either will or won't be a humongous glowing red circle in it. Also eotechs have auto-off.
Woah look out, best optic coming through
>Extremely crisp and clear reticle unlike fuzzy eotechs
>Multiple reticle options
>Extreme battery life
>Massive viewing window for quick target acquisition
I like my EOTECH too and for military use I think they're reasonable since everything gets beat to shit and they feel near unbreakable. But for normal civilian use and home defense the Holosun 510 is better
>Chinese
Is that the emitter?
>that emitter
Holy shit in the trash it goes. One rain drop in the right spot and boom optic is useless.
Tremendous cope. https://youtu.be/CkidkACagoc
Good under nods and good behind a magnifier, is that all?
Just use an acog rmr stack, probably weighs less anyways.
How to tell us you don't have nods without actually saying you don't have nods.
Seriously the only reason it still sits on my SHTF gun. Tough the new CompM5 is a lot more clear than previous aimpoint offerings.
I actually do have nods but I only use Holosun optics which in fact do work soo really makes Eotech redundant to me.
one issue i have with holosun is that the "low" settings aren't low enough and bloom like a motherfricker under nods when trying to do passive aiming. even the romeo 7t is too bright under nods. i don't even have mega nods just 31snr
I leave my aimpoints and holosun on the second highest brightness to be effective and ready in low light scenarios, my eotech on the other hand dies before it's auto shut off kicks in.
>second highest brightness
>ready in low light
might be the funniest thing ive read in awhile.
you dont own an eotech. they have 1000 hour battery life and auto shutoff at 4 or 8 hours. thats 250 shooting sesh's
how does the auto off feature on the eotech work anyway?
Should have read two posts down
never mind me.
If you press down to turn it on it turns off in 4 hours, if you used up it turns off in 8
Anyone
thoughts on VORTEX ????
MRO HD good ?
Just a different machined 530 but yes the HD is good, very good.
>the HD is good, very good.
Hard pass...
The MRO has the worst parallax error of just about any red dot on the market. Unless trijicon fixed this somehow in the newer versions.
>It doesn't know
Not that anon, but im stuck with a green first gen MRO, but after they "fixed" it, not one of the older serial numbers.

Have you forgotten the best already?

wow, cant believe this thread is still up. 9/10 of the gays crying about nvg use do not have nods btw. this is an optic that makes sells off of video games and people who want to think they are just like SFgays
im sick of homosexuals like you with these extreme exaggerations and brand whorish behavior, it's literally fine.
i genuinely do not give a shit about brands at all, i really just think this is an optic that needs improvements but is impossible to achieve because people still buy it as is since the cool government agencies still buy them.
The Holosun 510 made them obsolete overnight
Was it ever good, or just a meme?
i know what i got
Most situations for you is shooting a stationary target 10 yards away and getting uncomfortably sweaty.
why do aimpoint gays quote the marketing battery life for their Gay2 optic? It's well known that on a setting bright enough to see in the day time the actual battery life is usually 10-12 months. That's still good but it's not fifty thousand hours.
Frick no, more like 4-6 months for useable lowlight shooting bright.
TripID what a homosexual
