Parked. Took shelter on the corner of a farm / industrial complex. Hit by LM while it was right next to reloader vehicle. Reloads cooked off, building continued to burn.

Mexico STILL has these fricking things in services as the main IFV in fricking 2024. Half were supposed to be replaced with a tracked IFV and half with an 8x8 IFV both with a 40mm main gun but that has been put off since literally 1999.

From what I remember reading the ukies consider the CAESAR as the worst western provided modern SPG. Supposedly the issue is that it is pretty finnicky, not well protected and generally not really a good solution for a large scale land war. Like a lot of French hardware it was made for dunking on random insurgents in Africa if they tried to do something against the French not-colonies. The Archer is considerably better as a wheeled artillery piece but even then a tracked vehicle is just superior in Ukraine because the mud is so prevalent and deep that anything wheeled has a very real risk of getting either stuck or bogged down enough that they get targeted.
The closest we've seen is the Russians shooting cluster munitions at a treeline where a HIMARS was an undefined amount of time before that and then some random smoke. There's a chance that the Russians have maybe destroyed or damaged a low single digit amount of HIMARS / M270 but for all intents and purposes unless if the Russians get lucky they are invulnerable to Russian counter-battery fire and drones.
Did you not see the footage of the fpv drone destroying the M142 HIMARS those perfidious Hohols had hidden on the third floor of an apartment building? mmmmmm roasted piggies*~~))
There was that HIMARS disguised as a lumber truck, and another one hidden inside a second floor flat in an apartment block they blew up. So, at least 157 and probably at least one Boris Johnson in each one.

The aforementioned claims are identical in their lack of video or photo corroboration, and the Armed Forces of Russia still hamstring their logistics by keeping all their stockpiles far from the frontlines, out of HIMARS range.
I heard some decently informed sources say they supposedly lost, unsure if damaged/destroyed, two pieces but obviously there is no proof of this and even if so its a laughably small amount given that the same source claims that ukies were given many more himars than officially said. >inb4 indian zigger apologist

Ask yourself why other SPGs aren't exhibiting the same problems for the same number of shots. They're just fragile. Similar problem to the M777, just not designed for this level of intensity. Either that, or the supply of replacement barrels is FUBAR. In any case, it's a weakness.
