Top two already have. Just gotta wait for the bottom. Picrel is also nearly a half century old with a fresh model getting coming out that keeps it relevant indefinitely.
I always used to think the idea of like >legendary
versions of weapons and stuff was cape shit, because everything gets supplanted so rapidly, but it makes sense that pace can't be maintained. it's wild to think the pinnacle might be this close. seeing planes stay relevant for the timelines that they are now is really what gets me.
The 1911 is not used and has not been used since the 80s. The M45 has been cancelled for like five years. Marine MEUSOCs and M45s were just a joke that went too far, recon battalions are full of 25 year old boomers and their gunners have broad purchase authority to run whatever handgun they want, it's not an indication of any wider military use.
The 1911 had abysmally low verified kills in WW1 and WW2 and its uselessness as a personal protection weapon spurred the M1 carbine into existence. Look at those videos of M1911 qualification from the wartime and post war era and you'll realize for over half of its service life it was used as decorative hip candy and nothing else. The ubiquitous symbol of being "on duty".
Replacing the old 90 year old tech with new 50 year old tech.... i mean at least its proven. That said i like that the marines put a 30mm gun, 4 stingers and a minigun on a JLTV

The
>Atmospheric dropship
Is actually just a Black Hawk nearing the century mark
Thank you for posting
There are only 72 BUFF's left. While they do keep getting updated i'm not sure how long we can keep them going.
I wanna frick one of those strong buff Gilfs someday
They are pushing them at least until 2040, they will outlive the B2s and the B1s...
Well ya the B-2 and B-1s have a replacement in the B-21, i think only the C-17 and C-5 have plans to be replaced and those are just studies atm
>2055 is only 14 years away
>mfw

He's right, unfortunately.
50s may eventually be replaced by m240s rebarreled to polycase 338 Norma mag.
>1911 bad because for the same reasons that every other pistol was bad
Wow anon, truly groundbreaking stuff here.
Oh no, it’s moronic

1911s get into the fight quickly and end the fight quickly. Not for the small of hand or weak of eye.
One of them is already phased out and the other is a Kuznetsov-tier hospice patient. AK and AR fit the bill more.
It occurs to me that C-130s will almost certainly outlast B-52s, first flight was only 4 years later but the C-130J is still being produced today
Wait it was introduced in '56, first flight was only 2 years after the B-52
And have they accomplished? Nothing. Only death and suffering and israelites in power.
No guns is the future
isn't the M2 getting replaced by the M320LF?

honestly, what took 'em so long to replace the M2 with the M320LF?
