Theres no obvious plumbing or roof leak
I did deep clean my bathroom and found a crack in the back of thr toilet that i never noticed before but i dont think its leaking
The culprit might just be some stinky laundry but im going to up into the attic in a bit just to be sure
In the attic look around nails that intrude through the plywood sheathing, discoloration on beams, black or white stuff (mold likely), and water marks. This is above a window in my kitchen. We have a flat roof and it's an on going issue.
Does anyone else smell it? Just you? If so it could be phantosmia (phantom smells).
Musty smells come from damp, dark places. The basement is a good place to start. Get a dehumidifier and run it for a while, see if it gets better.
If you really can't find it you can have a company come out and sample/test your indoor air quality. It's expensive but it'll tell you for sure.
Could be rats. We've had rats inhabit our in-law's crawlspace before and they turned it into their toilet for awhile. A few died down there too. Now I associate the smell of damp, musty mildew with rat urine and the place smells faintly of it during warmer weather if there is a hint of moisture in the crawlspace.
>musty
what does this mean?
Like damp and mildewy
let your wife go outside at least once a week
Shes not here i can still smell it
rent/buy a dehumidifier?
See.if it makes a difference
Is there a leaking pipe under the house? Does your roof leak? It's usually water intrusion

Shoes/boots, dirty laundry, washing machine, leak under the washing machine or dishwasher, clogged vent pipe.
Also sniff around pic related.
