There is rumour about special operation in Lithuania this morning!

>Putin suddenly arrived at the Kremlin at night
>Russian media report that the presidential cortege arrived at the #Kremlin at 23:00. This is extraordinary, usually it is associated with some important decision.
>The representative of the owner of the Kremlin decided to "refute the assumptions spread by telegram channels" Peskov called it a lie that Putin went to the Kremlin at night to make a statement.
Known serb loving russia ZOKA posted this also.

This is Russia giving nukes to Belarus, no?

I don't blame you for not understanding. A lot of Americans and Australians don't. Which is why their accent is confusing to native English speakers. It sounds like they are constantly asking questions, when in fact, they are making statements.

In all honesty, why is Lithuania doing this?

        Anonymous

UN sanctions, moron. They can't let any banned commodities pass through EU territory to Russia. Since the road and rail goes through Kaliningrad that isn't allowed. Russia has a perfectly good port.

Breaking, breaking pic related Lithuanian statement!

You'd think they've shut off rail transport entirely rather than issue a statement that they will disallow the passage of certain types of sanctioned materials through their own sovereign territory.

          Anonymous

Lithuania really should totally shut down rail traffic given that the Russians are already saying they did.

        Anonymous

because all EU countries agreed to block certain materials from crossing their borders if they are heading from or to Russia?

Lithuania was slow to implement it but it would be penalized sooner or later for breaking EU sanctions against Russia if it did not - i think they stalled as long as they could

Because it's part of the EU and those are EU sanctions. They only came into action now and will be slowly increasing (no gas and oil in Spetmeber I think).

I don't really believe Lithuania did this just because they hate vatniks. Lithuania is a member of a greater alliance, and probably acts accordingly. Also, if you want to frick with russia, was there any better time for it in the last 30 years?

Well tbh as a slav, such anti-russian moods were not really present a few years ago. Before 2014 there was a popular concept that despite shitty past, a common russian is not to blame for russian politics. 10 years ago a russian was considered a human. Frick, what happened to the world during the last 10 years? Stop drinking their cool aid. It's not Russia that has state sized chunks annexed. And it's obvious that Russia has chosen this time as it sees it self in best position to pull this off. West has been complacent for too long and now they has to pay up or suffer loss. And this is not the only area and geopolitical situation where most of west has been blissfully ignorant. There might come even more unpleasant situations and bigger prices to pay completely unrelated to Russia.

With zero investigation or proof. They are just taking Russia's word for it like good Europoids do. In fact the one investigation they did was based on false testimonies and falsely accused a guy.

A journalist died within reach of Russia. %99 of the time that means the Russians did it. If the Russians deny it that makes it %100. Not even a regular journalist, a Russian dissident whom Ukrainians would have 0 reason to kill, in fact they would want him doing his work for as long as possible while Russians cope and seethe and call him a CIA asset of hohols. Actually I can tell because I have a brain. This guy is yet another Russian dissident journalist who suddenly died within Russian controlled territory. That would make him what, number #49383? Also I can tell because Russians are incapable of telling any truth if their lives had depended on it. You are claiming that despite being acquitted we are suppsoed to believe the Ukrainians did themselves a great disservice by killing what Russia considers to be an enemy, when he was in Russian territory, instead of this being yet another case of "russia kills dissident journalist and lies about it". No, they were promised different fuel sources than Russia. Whether they will actually get the fuel is unknown, since US is ready to throw Europe under the bus if it's necessary for their own energy security:
          https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-06-16/white-house-mulls-fuel-export-limits-as-pump-prices-surge

They'll just have some accidental fires on LNG terminals. "Sorry, Europe, we would have liked nothing more than to supply you with cheap gas, but nothing could be done here, accidents happen".

A Russian collapse would create a great deal of food instability... in Africa, the Middle East, and India. Assuming western leaders brought in those refugees it would have a round about destabilizing effect on the west but that’s a secondary effect and it assumes that the west won’t just pick up the slack exporting food to those regions to offset decreased supply.

No, Fascism itself was a reaction to communism. Antifascist goons were communists historically. The fighting in the streets of Europe in the lead up to WWII was between commies and fascists. Those were the two prevailing ideologies after Napoleon fricked up monarchies 100 years prior and nobody knew how they wanted their democracies to work.
Have you ever wondered why fascist regimes like Franco, Pinochet and even Hitler are remembered fondly by those who lived under it while communist regimes are almost universally and rightfully trashed

Russia couldn't take the (former) poorest country in Europe, and Ukraine isn't even a NATO member, they're just getting NATO's leftovers.

Russia's "elite" forces aren't even equipped or trained at the level of most US national guard forces. NATO fields F-35s in numbers, and Russia can't even keep a single SU-57 in the air. Tell me, how does Russia intend to attack NATO after 100% of its airforce is destroyed on Day 1? How do you intend to bombard us when our basic artillery units have guided rounds that can outrange yours by 20+ miles?

Western equipment is, and always will be, 20-30 years ahead of its russian equivalent. It has been demonstrated in virtually every war that has ever been fought in the 20th century. And russian "training" speaks for itself. Hold on tightly to your nuclear deterrence, Vlad, it's literally the only reason that russia is still a country.

When you ask yourself how moronic is Putin to start a multiple front war before finishing the first one you have to consider this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundations_of_Geopolitics
The man writing that awful fanfiction is supposedly called 'Putin's brain', I will quote the better passages of the book according to Wiki.
    >Franceshould be encouraged to form a bloc with Germany, as they both have a "firm anti-Atlanticist tradition"
    >Polandshould be granted a "special status" in the Eurasian sphere.
    >Ukraine should not be allowed to remain independent, unless it iscordon sanitaire, which would be inadmissible.
    >Iranis a key ally. The book uses the term "Moscow–Tehran axis".
    homie what?
    >Armeniahas a special role: It will serve as a "strategic base," and it is necessary to create "the [subsidiary] axis Moscow-Yerevan-Teheran". Armenians "are anAryanpeople ... [like] the Iranians and theKurds".
    No really what?
    >China, which represents a danger to Russia, "must, to the maximum degree possible, be dismantled"
    And in the same breath...
    >Russia should offer China help "in a southern direction – Indochina...
    >Russia should manipulateJapanese politicsby offering theKuril Islandsto Japan and provoking anti-Americanism.
    >Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States tofuel instability and separatism, for instance, provoke "Afro-American racists".
At the best case the spirit of Hitler has possessed Putin and is making him do all of Germany's mistakes in WW2, at worst there is a modern day Rasputin only with bananas instead of wiener and christianity.

Bear in mind that F-35s need air bases. Russia does have the capability at least to knock out such bases within reach of their arty. Meaning sorties will be heavily degraded. 4th gen aircraft stand no chance against 5th gen air superiority engagements but Russia doesn’t have a lot of ground strike capability to begin with so all they need to do is reduce NATO sortie rates to the minimum possible.

Russian maneuver capabilities are hamstrung by morale and corruption — although corruption won’t be as bad now that Putin is focusing on un-screwing his army. Besides that most rifle units are from minorities no one in Russia cares about so they can be largely killed off and not impact the country that much. Whites from Moscow and St. Petersburg have yet to be drawn in and that is an important demographic the military has left alone for now.

Current BTGs won’t stand a chance against primary European militaries, but the primaries may not participate.Needless to say the US would be gross overkill. So would the UK but the expense of such an intervention may keep them out of it.

      >So would the UK but the expense of such an intervention may keep them out of it.

While normally I would agree with you, Boris is in a precarious situation right now and would probably like nothing more than to send in the troops for a popularity boost (or at least get the media to talk about something else for a bit). Kinda like Thatcher and the Falklands. Of course, Boris is no Thatcher. If she (or Reagan for that matter) were still running things Moscow would have become a glowing crater 15 minutes after the Russians crossed the Ukrainian border.

Depends on where you live. If you're in London and the Souf she's practically a saint who turned it into the financial center it is today. If you live in Scotland or the Norf she is basically Satan since she deindustrialized those regions and they still haven't recovered. We used to have a coal mining industry much like Germany does. We don't no' mo'.

she cut off the leg of the 'industrial' part of UK because it was being outpriced and outpaced by other nations and invested the money into making sure London was the capital centre of the world (which was until a few years ago). So if you're a 'bigger picture' kinda guy she was great, if you're a 'hard working local man me father was a miner and his father before him' etc then she is the devil. This is predominately split geographically.

She funded it all by selling off all of Britain's national assets, BAE being one of them. Her policies brought about short term pain, mid term gain and long term back to pain. Check out how much the UK taxpayer got from North sea oil compared to Norway - it's something like a third despite extracting more oil and gas. We basically just donated most of our oil wealth to a few corporations and allowed the industrial parts of the country to stagnate with no investment. She was a fricking idiot.

Inflation wasn't fixed by sending all the excess wealth to some account in the Cayman Islands. Relying on increasingly subsidised coal mining was not sustainable but shitting the entire bed at once has obviously not worked out well for the economy in the long term. With oil we should have done what Norway did, and with privatisation we should have kept a stake in everything we privatised that would then consistently be paying a proportion of dividends back to the national treasury. Which is basically what Norway did with oil.

Royal mail was a great example because they sold it for way below market value, allowing the first buyers to make a personal profit and funnel it to tax havens instead of the money going to investing in national services or infrastructure. This is very helpful for the economy but it's difficult to explain why due to the complex theory involved.

All of NATO's artillery has much longer range and precision than Russia's Soviet hand-aimed garbage. The moment they try to advance into anything they'll be seen coming from a hundred miles and the force will be whittled down to nothing.

Unless you're suggesting that Russian arty can reach Western Europe, F-35s can always take-off from Western Europe, re-fuel in Eastern Europe, hit its targets, and return to Western Europe. Sure, it would still slow down and lessen the amount of sorties, but they wouldn't be "heavily degraded".

Go there, type in numbers, it means those numbers are Russian bomber ranges and they're active, which they are, I am listening now, can't understand tho.

Not heading over to the border though. Interesting. Last three flights it headed over Estonia and patrolled there.

I doubt it they have the balls to do that, only if Putin is really dying and don't give a frick about his country becoming a parking spot. I wonder if somehow a big war start, how fast the war machine will start to make weapons

So why was that motorcade going to the Kremlin? What happened? I google this and nothing comes up bar that twitter and fringe adware filled websites reporting it (some with the added info of the Russian long range bomber voice net being active and one of their command jets being in the air).

Russians unironically believe that "nobody in hato will die for lithuania axaxaxa they iwll let us have it" because they think everyone holds promises and agreements in the same regard they do. It was also stupid of them to believe the Ukrainian military would fold in 3 days so you can drive intelligence assets into Kiev but they went and did it.

        >Russians unironically believe that "nobody in hato will die for lithuania axaxaxa they iwll let us have it"
It feels very similar to "Why die for Danzig?" and "THE AMERICANS WIRR FORD WHEN WE ATTACK PEAR HARBOUR DUE TO SUPEROR JAPANESE FIGHTING SPIRIT"
