The morons that the municipality hire to mow the bicycle path next to my house keep running over rocks and gravel and are spraying my patio with it.
Some rocks have taken chips out of the window panes on my patio doors.
I'm gonna install some sheet metal to protect the lower portion of the window panes.
What is more resistant to denting, scratching etc from flying rocks and what not out of what I can get from my local hardware store?
>0,75 mm (22 ga) mild steel
>0,5 mm (25 ga) galvanised steel
>0,8 mm (21 ga) aluminium
I don't care about the mild steel rusting because I'll be painting them to match the trim on the door and they are not exposed to rain anyway.
drive some rebar into the ground and cover it with clippings. it'll sound really cool, trust me.
Too late for such things.
I've already been in contact with them for weeks and their response is "lol not our problem".
They will know it's me.
tell us where and well do it for you bro
Or you could answer the question I made the thread for.
I'm not looking for advice on how to wage a guerilla war against the government for frick sake.
No I won't, you want a bandaid solution for a problem you can easily deal with at the source.
>Go to a town hall meeting and complain
>Talk to the guy who actually does the mowing
>Talk to the mower company
>Remove the rocks that get spit at your house
>File a police report of vandalism
If I had a neighbor who was damaging my property by hurling rocks via his lawnmower to my windows, my solution wouldn't be to barricade my house you stupid fricking pussy
>>Go to a town hall meeting and complain
We don't have those.
>>Talk to the guy who actually does the mowing
>>Talk to the mower company
I have. "lol not our problem"
the rocks that get spit at your house
Every winter they cover the bicycle path in gravel so people don't slip.
They usually don't get around to sweeping it back up until early summer.
I'm not fricking doing it for them.
>>File a police report of vandalism
Or I could just spend 50 euros on some fricking sheet metal instead of dealing with a pozzed police force.
You're a pussy, why else would you create this thread other than reassurance of your own cowardice. You didn't need to create a thread asking for help to put up sheet metal, you could have done that at home depot. So I hope your sheet metal on your glass door is exactly what you hoped for in the house you bought
>you could have done that at home depot
My guy are you fricking moronic? Those people don't know what they are talking about, they just want to sell you shit.
I'm sure they're more than capable of helping you buy a piece of sheet metal
You could take the mowing business to small claims court for the property damage after getting video of rocks hitting your house and getting pictures of the chips as evidence.
Or you could plate your cuck shed in metal, then the local council will have you fined for ruining the aesthetic or some other gay shit, you'll take it all back off, and that'll be that, because Europe lol
> euros
Stopped caring.
>I'm not looking for advice on how to wage a guerilla war against the government for frick sake.
literally just the thickest fricking sheet metal you can find and drill holes in to put screws through
it's not fricking rocket science, you're protecting windows from flying rocks using sheet metal. don't use aluminum because it's easier to dent. if you're going to paint it then don't worry if it's galvanized or not, because literally all galvanization does it protect from rust
Just spray chemicals to kill the grass they mow, they won't know you did and if anyone investigates just make sure you do the following:
>buy the chemicals with cash
>dispose of them once done in a neighbor's trash can or somewhere far away
>Wash your hands
>Don't let anyone see you, so do it at night
Galvanized
>asks 1 direct question
>gets 15 responses that avoid answering it
the absolute state of PrepHole
the 22ga mild steel will be the strongest OP
lol no because under that thin zinc coating it will just be an even thinner sheet of mild steel
Galvanized coatings are pretty thin, OP can use that to deflect rocks. Imho this project is so fricking painful to read, putting up metal over glass looks so ghetto its not even funny. I hope OP gets a letter in the mail to take down his moronic eyesore.
Put laminated security film on the glass like a normal fricking human being. It will protect the glass underneath from chipping. It's clear, cheap, and is much more achievable with your baseline skill level.
Putting metal to protect the glass on your door is such a moronic idea.
If you haven't sent a bill to the company for damages you won't accomplish anything. That's the first step. Second is a certified letter addressing the issue. Third is either a letter from your lawyer, or a small claims court summons.
Sue them, thats why these businesses have to take insurance and bonds
Fence, get one.
Next time they mow stand on your patio and watch. If you get hit with debris an ambulance chaser lawyer would probably take it up. Or you could report them to Osha. No one can abide completely by Osha, soon you'll have the town and/or the mowing company spending thousands on needless paperwork and fines
Take videos then take them to small claims court after putting the video online with ample descriptive text including name of town.
