The Rafale, is the closest thing that European countries have to a domestically produced 5th gen.
>But the Rafale isn't 5th gen
That's why, its the closest thing. You cannot deny that it is the second most viable option that is not a F-35 and is being marketed as such. Aside from China and Russia (which are shit), only Rafale .... can offer an entire comprehensive package that is comparable to the F-35
ITT: Coping frenchies
>t. seething brit
Bonjour, Nigel, what a fine morning INNIT ?
If the brits could produce anything remotely as good as the Rafale they would shill it as the ultimate Wunderwaffe, it's all just petty jealousy.
We bought these frickers and I hope they're good. They should be arriving next year (Croatia).
its not like you are in any way relevant and need an airforce at all.
Croatia is much more relevant than Singapore, a so-called F-35 user
>the second most viable option that is not a F-35
So then the F/A-18 is the first most viable option that is not an F-35?
no its a typhoon, then rafale then f18
>no its a typhoon, then rafale then f18
/thread
>But the Rafale isn't 5th gen
The Rafale, is fully the equal of the F-35, Su-57 and J-20 as a fifth generation fighter. Like the KF-21, it is a 4.5 gen with development potential to be further upgraded to fifth gen. That is why many countries, such as India, Indonesia, Qatar and the UAE which have requested F-35s or were looking at other fifth gen options like the Su-75 and KF-21, are now Rafale users.
The Eurogay Typhoon meanwhile remains a 4-4.5 generation aircraft with no further development potential, and the countries who are using it primarily (UK, Italy, Spain etc) are all F-35 users and have no incentive to develop it further
Rafale is a fifth generation aircraft
>The Rafale is fully the equal of the F-35
This is factually untrue.
thats fricking true its even better
What is this froggy copium lmao
The fact is that Typhoon is a newer aircraft by a hair and thus has more development potential. Both aircraft are a product of its respective times.
Neither however will achieve even a quarter of F-35's low observability ever, so frick off lmao
>Su-57 and J-20 as a fifth generation fighter.
Ultimate proof that this copypasta was not written by a french but by a vatBlack person or a chinksect
Arrêtez de parler du Rafale à notre place, bande d'enculés
>The Rafale, is fully the equal of the F-35,
False
>Su-57
True as it exists in significant functional numbers
>and J-20 as a fifth generation fighter
True as it works as intended
>SU57
>True
Lol
Lmao even. Motherfricking SU57 has a F16-A crosssection alongside only frontal sensors, and you really think it has drone or local forces interlinked with it?
4-4.5 at best, if that
Checkmate maybe, but it doesn't exist.
>Su-57
>fifth generation fighter
>exists in significant functional numbers
moron alert
>He can only resort to ad hominem when faced with the truth
Lmao
ok esl Black person
You're a fricking moron mate. Read it back to yourself again. He said that the 57 doesn't have any meaningful numbers. You just read it wrong and started REEEing like a fricking sperg.
The rafale is a solid 4 gen, not 4.5 gen and is roughly equal to an F15
The kf21 is a 4.5 gen upgradable to 5 gen potentially even 6 gen if the AI + lasers are incorporated
Today its the F22 then F35 then F15 then probably the rafale followed by the typhoon then FA50 or F16, then gripen, the thirdie stuff that China and Russia puts even if advertised as 5th gen is probably no better than an F16
Also there is a reason why India buys the rafale, the US won't even sell F16s to india and guaranteed they are trying to lobby to get the kf21 but no way the US will agree, Indonesia contributed capital to the kf21 development so they will get the kf21 as an upgrade to their air force which includes the rafale
Rafale is. 4.75+ gen and so is the kf-21. The f-15EX is 4.5+ gen. Rafale destroys f-15 10/10 times in bvr and wvr engagement.
Serious question, why do countries avoid the rafale like the plague? The only countries that use them are a sorry lot of thirdies that are restricted from any US aircraft even F16s let alone the F35s
If the rafale could get a first world country to buy at least a squadron the world would take the rafale seriously but its not even in any discussions when debating elite jet fighters
>Serious question, why do countries avoid the rafale like the plague? The only countries that use them are a sorry lot of thirdies that are restricted from any US aircraft even F16s let alone the F35s
F-16 are outdated piece of shit. And rafale is pretty much the most mature 4.75 gen fighter right now. The f-35 has still not been cleared for FOC so nobody is interested to buy it beyond the usual American dick sucking crowd.
>If the rafale could get a first world country to buy at least a squadron the world would take the rafale seriously but its not even in any discussions when debating elite jet fighters
Most first world countries are American vassals or slaves. Just look at the aukus deal and you will get your answer on why Rafale failed to get an export customer in the first world.
Also most of the first world on the paper tiger europoopster typhoid. Now they can't buy the Rafale because they will all be embarassed that their entire joint forces failed to make a fighter that can surpass the Rafale. That's why Germans came running to the french for the NGF after realising how big of a shitshow the eurofighter typhoon was.
This has got to be a troll, nobody is this delusional to think the rafale is anything other than a piece of shit with wings
>More advanced QWIP irst than the su-57
>Can supercruise
The f-35 cannot
>Jammed a su-35 in egypt
>Spectra is considered to be the best EW spj system in the market
>Only known aircraft to defeat f-22 in mock air battle while typhoon even failed to get lock on it in wvr.
>That's why Germans came running to the french for the NGF after realising how big of a shitshow the eurofighter typhoon was.
ironically the germans are one of the primary problems with the typhoon, specifically they kept reducing commitments while increasing demands for workshare
I know that. That's why the ngf/scaf will be a failure and tempest a success.
Because most countries buy american to be the good doggos to their master.
And those who don't want to have to build it themselves, which sometimes they can"t (small countries), buy Russian or buy the Rafale. (and it hurts to say that, considering that the Gripen deserve some love too)
>Also there is a reason why India buys the rafale, the US won't even sell F16s to india
F-16 didn't even enter the final shortlist you martshitter. F-16 is outdated pos gets shot down by mig 21's
This is very, very, VERY good bait
Thank you for the quality and effort
Why do we keep having these threads? Is it just the one butthurt frog?
>Rafale is a fifth generation aircraft
Lmao, remind me what the frontal RCS is again? Rafale is barely competitive with the most recent F-15 variants.
Another day, another terrible aircraft thread.
Impressive.
With this most recent achievement, fate has in a single stroke, marked the decline of the F-35 and spelled a new era of wondrous prosperity and peaceful aerial dominance for the French Rafale, which promises to firmly stand in sharp contrast to the historically costly ascent of Lockmart and the cruel subjugation it brought to the humbler aircraft manufacturers of the world. With the blessings of French baguettes, RBA2-AA and OSF IRST will be the instruments with which Dassault affirms its noble stewardship of 21st century air warfare and offers the non-stealth world a different option; an humanist alternative to the depredations of LockMart leadership and the opportunity for a more equitable and dignified multirole aircraft.
Loses every fighter competition it's entered with the F-35 lmao.
Bongoloids are upgrading their Typhoon's with new phased array radars.
Stop shilling that piece of junk.
Now way is it comparable to the F-35.
How delusional are you?
The Rafale beats the F22, it would crush the F35 like it's nothing.
Inferior ameriisraelite planes are not match for gallic fighters.
>The Rafale, is fully the equal of the Su-57 and J-20
Yes
>F-35
J-35?
J-35 will be better than the kf-21
The upgraded Eurofigher has a much better radar than the Rafales and is a much a2a plane.
Plus most countries that Operate the EF are buying thr F35 too. Leaving France permanently butthurt with their fleet of legacy mirage/Rafael combo.
>closest thing that European countries have to a domestically produced 5th gen.
Doesnt it perform worse than the Typhoon in A2A?
Yes, much better.
Substantially so.
What missiles does the Rafale carry? Will it operate Meteor?
You know you can just google it right?
Already operates the Meteor, and a medium range fox2 which is for some unknown reason unique amongst western planes.
Rafale is definitively 4th gen, but it has a future as a bombtruck for the forseeable future. Good range, 9 ton payload, enough thrust to handle it all, integrated EW, good selection of PGM, has room for upgrades and can still defend itself in a pinch. I can see it staying relevant in 5th gen, just as how Phantom lived through 4th gen. But claiming it's 5th gen is pants on head moronic.
>That's why, its the closest thing
I was gonna to go 'well you're sorta right because the Rafale uses a British ejection seat' but you decided to go with some meme definition rather than facts.
I know shit about the capabilities of modern fighters but the Rafale is a beautiful piece of tech, ngl. Might be shit I have no idea but it's among top fighers in terms of aesthetic.
100% correct.
>5th gen
>can't even retract the fuel probe
>5th gen
Reminds me of the bit wars back in the day...
Can someone give me the rundown between the French Rafale and the South Korean KF-21, which one is better??
The rafale is decent but has really struggled obtaining an export market share as its effectively similar to an F15 which is a 3+ decade design, no first world nations are interested in the rafale
The Kf21 is the latest jet fighter in the world but because of no internal weapons bay is considered a 4.5 gen despite having all other performance stats superior to the F35 (top speed, maximum operating ceiling, g force capabilities, etc.), but should be noted that KAI intentionally designed this iteration of the Kf21 as a 4.5 gen with a 5 gen model less than a year behind, but also will be 6 gen in a few years incorporating both AI integration + lasers, yes lasers
All this said, the pecking order today is F22 > F35 > Kf21 and then everything else to include the Russian and Chinese purported 5 gen is no greater than an F15
There's a reason every nation, to include first world nations with real choices, are lining up for Kf21, in reality it appears to be a coordinated inside job between KAI and LM to market the F35 as multirole and Kf21 as air-to-air at least for now
A clear data point is that Indonesia is upgrading its air force with planned Kf21 purchases to replace the rafale
They're probably gonna end up dropping out considering their shitty track record so far of paying for anything. Does say a lot about the Rafale though
Apparently there is room in the design for an internal weapons bay that will be implemented in a later version.
>first world nations are lining up for the KF21
Which nations? I know of South Korea, Indonesia and that’s it. Poland might have interest. Which “first world” nations are interested?
Appreciate the response.
Does the KF-21 have export restrictions from the US, since Lockheed did contribute to it??
>There's a reason every nation, to include first world nations with real choices, are lining up for Kf21,
Phh..HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAABAHABAHABABAHAHAHABABAHABHABAABABABABAHABHAAGAHAHAHAHAGHAAGAH
>KF-21
No gun, it's shit.
>Rafale
30mm autocannon. Very cool.
Guns on planes are literally obsolete and no plane has scored an air to air autocannon kill in something like 20-30 years and that's me lowballing it because I don't remember exact numbers.
>Guns on planes are literally obsolete
KF-21 is stealthy except
>no internal weapons bay
>no gun
meaning it's only stealthy when unarmed. If it had a gun it could forgo the missiles on the wings and, with stealth and a gun, still fight.
The thing is LO not even VLO. Heck the Chinese j-35 has better stealth than it.
>No gun
Except it has one.
why does the fact that f-35 succeeded mindbreak a lot of autists here? fanboyism?
>fixed fuel hose
you will never be a real 4.5th gen
Poland with an unlimited budget probably largely funded by the EU (Germany lol) just chose the FA-50, have orders for the F35 and publicly stated they are actively evaluating the Kf21
Rafale is for india, african countries and every other country that have a choice between a mig25 or the rafale and even then its not always a clear cut decision lol
Kf-21 can be bought by second world shitholes. No serious country is going to buy it. Tai Tf-x will be what first world countries end up buying. Kf-21 us a superhornet with a bodykit. The funny part is it's radar will only be as good as the blk 70 f-16
The AN/APG-83 isn't bad, it's just limited by size and power and isn't as capable as the AN/APG-81 or 77. There are limitations in everything and the AN/APG-83 does well with being designed for a fighter that was made for a power plant that wasn't designed to support massive potential upgrades.
There are already 30+ countries lining up for the kf21 to include many in nato and this list is growing, starting price will be $70 million for the basic model going up to over $100+ million fully loaded
>There are already 30+ countries lining up for the kf21
Hello where is the proofs? :DDD
Tfx will take all the middle east shitholes
Kfx will take all the South East Asian and eastern European shitholes.
imo, F-15ex
>The Rafale
It has very nice curves, and I like the name too. I'd say it's a good jet.
French here, tell me how the F35 btfo the rafale I'm so tired of frenchies pretending the rafale beats the F35.
So I just saw the RCS, which is higher in case of the rafale.
What else makes the F35 superior?
>Better radar
>Better sensor fusion
>Higher power output
>Similar levels of survivability tbh
>VLO stealth.
Spectra Kun(atleast that's what the frogslurpers claim)
>can offer an entire comprehensive package that is comparable to the F-35
Really, France has a fully-develped Networked Battlespace product that is compatible with the Rafale? Seems like a circuitious path to get there, when you buy the F-35 you're buying access to the CEC network, or to be guided by it.
Why do you think everyone thinks Urkaine is still in this war?
Who is going to deny themselves the ability to have Super Momma Murrica rain down battlefield telemetry from on high?
How can the Rafale penetrate airspace, defend itself competently there, while acting as a Spiritual Guide for the oodles of weaponry raining down on your enemies?
>How can the Rafale penetrate airspace, defend itself competently there, while acting as a Spiritual Guide for the oodles of weaponry raining down on your enemies?
Spectra Kun and rbe 2aa and talios/damocles pod.
