i mean its not like poland is ever going to depend that much on its navy for defense so importing foreign systems that are quality for their purpose is probably better then having to have an entire domestic naval industry
>italian swedish american weapons and french radars
what a mess
Considering the state of other Europeans me world navies, it’s far better than relying on 100% foreign built vessels, hand-me-downs from other countries, or having no navy at all and just using a handful of patrol craft.
Nobody is boasting about Polish navy. In fact it has been a pile of garbage since the 80s, getting only a small fraction of the money and attention that army and air force got. The Polish "military industrial complex" is basically all about small arms, artillery, APCs and IFVs. Nothing more complicated than that. But now, with this massive increase in spending, things are slightly starting to change, and the navy - while still expected to be small, at least will get a couple of semi decent vessels. For example, there are rumors about Polish government buying a couple of submarines from Koreans.
Double the number of VLS cells compared to the new German frigate.
Opposed to that, the gun on the German frigate is 127mm, this one is 76mm.
I don't know anything about radar and ELINT and that kind of stuff which is a big deal in surface combatants, but to me it seems like the Polish frigate is more tuned towards anti ship warfare whereas the German frigate goes more into the direction of Anti-Air, especially self defence.
But all the different VLS options blur the lines anyway.
I also doubt a Polish ship would find itself in the position where they say: "Heh, sure could have used a bigger main gun", or the German frigate says: "Our 64 VLS Anti-Air missiles + our to RAM launchers weren't enough, sure could have used 128".
But i think the German ship is bigger, it has like 3000 tonnes more displacement, just shy of 10.000 compared to the Polish 7000, because the Germans don't name their ships destroyers.
>no hypersonic deck missiles >no open barrels of gasoline >bridge crew hardly drunk at all >a pussy warm water port instead of ice-locked 10 months of the year
How old are you? Dynamically time-fused shells combined with tracking radar data has been the staple CIWS for Scandinavian navies for at least 10 years now.
>dual purpose
Purpose 1: shooting things
Purpose 2: ?
point defense. Dunno how seeing as it doesn't seem to fire rapidly enough to guarantee a skin-to-skin kill, maybe some sort of canister ammunition?

And the Italians, too. The 76s on their frigates aren't for NGFS
Ah, yes, two Yasens against every Type 212, Gotland, Surcouf, Astute and Virginia in the Atlantic, to say nothing of every surface vessel in the region or any naval mines. I'm sure that'll go well.
Germany, israelites, Ukrainians, Democrats, EUll, intelligent and wealthy Poles, young Poles, lawyers, doctors, minorities, pro choice activists - these frickers annoyed everyone and everywhere !
So if I was one of these contractors, I would demand money beforehand! Pic related, excellent helis, dropped right after cabinet change becuase literally Vatican mafia and USA lobbyists.
This thing looks like a littoral all-rounder that can take on a few primary blue water tasks like close air defense (Sea Ceptor) and ASW (Merlin and VDS). Interesting staggered funnels, I wonder if that’s due to engine placement? Does anyone know what propulsion scheme they’re proposing?
BTW what’s the reality of Ukrainian refugees in Poland? Weren’t they booted from that resort area some weeks back? What’s the housing situation like? How many mobsters ended up in the "refugee" population?
Didnt hear any bad things happening. Some scandals in the beginning but got resolved or turned out fake. Kids got enrolled into schools and vast majority of adults got jobs even if not staying for long. Great refugees would recommend.
>italian swedish american weapons and french radars

not that cannons are super relevant in naval warfare today, but that italian gun is a fricking monster
Some sort of guided ammo, too. Wish they could scale it up to 155mm.
Isn't that the Euro/NATO way? Jam enough parts from different companies together and if it doesn't work pretend everyone else is the problem.

hurra husaria
literal littoral combat ship
expect it works
>Poland
>Navy
Those things don't go well together.
>had only one naval battle
>won it
looks like a 100% win rate to me
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Oliwa
That's not true. We had a shit ton of naval battles, only using "unofficial" navy (privateers).
Don't feel bad about it. Some of the greatest American naval heroes were privateers.
I think they were just bongs bro
The Canadians would ignore that they were British at the time
OH THE YEAR WAS 1778
All of those are British...Johnny Depp isn't a real pirate anon lol
There may still be a chance for real 'muricans to be privateers, what with the bill introduced to issue letters of marque and reprisal once again.
Embrace your inner bong, the pirate flows through you
John Paul Johnes was a literall gigachad of the seas
Someone gave you a 100% win rate and you felt the need to correct them…

I AM A POLE
Tell that to the Kriegsmarine.
>Polish
>All the relevant stuff is French, Italian, Swedish and Burger
And then they'll boast about their "military industrial complex"
Buying from other MICs is a MIC.

Do it Poland, for the novelty alone.

>Double the number of VLS cells compared to the new German frigate.
A somewhat meaningless fact because the radar system can't support many options past the CAMM.
Also the lack of RAM launchers is a drawback.
>127mm
Why?
Germans love big guns
>no hypersonic deck missiles
>no open barrels of gasoline
>bridge crew hardly drunk at all
>a pussy warm water port instead of ice-locked 10 months of the year
You forgot
>Crew made up of straightoids cis white males
>76/62 gun
I know it's mostly a decoration, but still...

>Leonardo has entered the chat
> it's just a Type-31 Frigate
cool i guess, should be cheap since the brits are paying for a fair number.
As if it's going to be functional 😀
Polish navy merlins look nice
Is this a type 31?
Poland uses merlin? Based Merlinbros
>Poland uses merlin?
They're being delivered later this year IIRC
Replacement for their ancient Mi-14 Haze in ASW and SAR
Sweet got any torps with it?
Will be MU-90 AFAIK
Cool, is that the only Naval helicopter? Or could I interest you in picrel
>You know its dangerous because it has more tubes than the rest

Future Baltic Sea trash thanks to Yasen

Polite reminder, that poolish procurement is cancelled at every change of the ruling party. And the current one is speedrunning towards it's demise.
why? Aren't they blaming Germany for everything enough?

Shit helicopter looks like garbage, completely mogged by the Merlin. The only good European helicopter producer is AW.
>buying European helicopters
ngmi
AW doesn't fall into the same category of other Euro helicopters anon. Seahawk is nice however.
