It means when they are finished building their carrier fleet that they will take taiwan and probably America as well at that point if we haven't self imploded by then. China will have strongest navy, air force, and army in world by late 2030 i.e. less than 10 years. I would start learning mandarin in your spare time.

If china is such an indomitable force and if Taiwan is Chinese territory, why have you allowed "your" province to be in open defiance of your laws and traditions for the past 70 years by rejecting your communist government in favor of liberal capitalism? Either Taiwan is not Chinese territory or China is so weak that it can not even exert control over a rebellious territory 100 miles away.

In an actual military confrontation China would lose to the United States.
Furthermore, the United States has many allies and china only has Russia (non-factor) and North Korea.
The fearmongering surrounding the complete garbage Russian military was just a ploy to continue wasting money on the defense industry.
China is the same story. They are a fake enemy. They're going to go into a crisis any time now and will be in no condition to fight or do anything.

This. People don't realize there is just as much internal conflict and king making going on in china and the CCP as there is in any other nation. A large war is when the plays for power would begin and cool heads and a desire to keep statuesque is also more likely then a red army brow beating about fricking up a good thing a lot of people have going.

What are they going to do? Attacking the United States just means getting fricked for no gain.
Wouldn't really assist China in winning the war in any case, even if they all chose to attack (how?) in unison (how??).
Especially when all of the United States' enemies hate each other as much as they hate the US.
I'm sure China would love to seize Taiwan if it could, but if it means direct conflict with the United States it's clear to see it wouldn't be worth doing.
China will continue to try to strengthen it's position globally and work against the United States' interests and for now they're doing it unopposed.
A war (based on logic) is unlikely.

    >Until Fujian's naming, an educated guess for Type 003 would have been Jiangsu, since previously PLAN aircraft carriers have been named for coastal provinces north-to-south (skipping Hebei due to its relatively shorter and less consequential coast line), and PLAN helicopter carriers have been named for coastal provinces south-to-north.

    >But with Type 003 skipping Jiangsu and Zhejiang, going straight to Fujian, there's been a bunch of new theories. The most interesting is probably the following:
    >其实有说法的,这三个地名其实是中国近代三次惨败海战,辽宁号是黄海海战,山东号是威海海战,福建是马尾海战,三次均为大败,其实说明白了,中国这个命名就是证明自己要一雪前耻。 Actually there is a theory, that these three provinces [Liaoning, Shandong, and Fujian] were selected because these were the sites of the three worst naval defeats in recent Chinese history. Liaoning was named for [in remembrance of] the Battle of the Yalu River. Shandong was named for the Battle of Weihaiwei. Fujian was named for the Battle of Fuzhou. All three were major losses. China is doing this to declare that it's planning to wash away its past humiliation by military means.

Naming your ships after famous defeats seems like tempting fate. Why not name them after victories, instead? There has to be a few, historical if nothing else, to draw from. China has a long history.

        Anonymous

The closest China has ever gotten to a significant naval victory in all of its recorded history was the Korean naval victory over Japan during Hideyoshi's Korean Campaign. And even then China played minor role, often doing more damage to allied naval efforts than they helped.
Outside of that Chinese naval victories are pretty confined to tiny engagements, law enforcement, civil wars, and victories against anchored/berthed targets.

the only asiatic runes that look and sound nice is one of the japanese alphabets

          Anonymous

While Japanese sounds nice, much of its kanji are just Chinese characters anyways, and then you have the whole shitshow of hirigana, katakana, and different readings and whatnot.
Korea writing is the nicest because its actually an alphabet. The grammar of the language is a pain in the fricking ass though, but at least they have an alphabet and not a billion different logograms like Chinese.

            Anonymous

yeah hirigana and katakana. in special katakana, i think those runes looks pretty cool
and while kanji has chinese characters, i always managed to differentiate chinese and japanese even while not being able to understand shit. japanese runes look more spaced or something

              Anonymous

Kerning is the wrod you're probably looking for. The spacing between Japanese and Chinese letters in unicode seems to be different.

            Anonymous

Don't worry, Japan knows how shit it is, which is why they're bringing in loanwords from western languages to move away from the Kanji shit

              Anonymous

Japanese won't be able to get off Kanji for a while though, it's too ingrained structurally Ili to how the language works and is understood at a basic level.
It'll be at least a century before kanji can be fully obsoleted.

                Anonymous

These things all are slow, but fundamentally supporting and supplanting homophones with japanized loanwords is a valid approach to reduce Kanji down to a much smaller core vocabulary and a step towards a more effective, western language.

Unlike the decadent west, China cares about their people and is taking care of them. 180 million long covid cases in the US in the next 5 years.
Europe and NA are done. The entire genetic stock is destroyed. COVID is a RNA virus, it will integrate itself into the genetic codes. It was engineered to target germ cells. The defect will be passed on forever.

      >According to its calculations, more than 11 million Americans were already experiencing long COVID. The academy’s dashboard has been updated daily ever since, and now pegs that number at 25 million.

      >The dashboard calculation assumes that 30 percent of COVID patients will develop lasting symptoms, then applies that rate to the 85 million confirmed cases on the books. Many infections are not reported, though, and blood antibody tests suggest that 187 million Americans had gotten the virus by February 2022.
it's literally over. There is no recovering from this. Yes China is committing a genocide but unironically not on the Uighurs because they are still under zero covid policy in Xinjiang LMAO.
